I would frequent this restaurant for lunch usually about once a week.  They have a great menu and typically good service, but as of lately it has gone completely downhill.  In my opinion, the hostesses sets the mood and makes the first impression and the ones they have now are extremely rude and useless.  Waiting for a prolonged period of time for a table when there are multiple seats open and being told I can't sit in the "open seating" area near the bar was not a pleasurable experience.  Overall, the atmosphere created is tremendously lacking and I will not be returning.

They have a really good grilled chicken sandwich.
Bartender is light-handed with the alcohol in their 9 dollar drinks.

Every time I've been the service has been lacking big time and for the cost of an entree I keep expecting better but never really get it.

Excellent American food, from burgers to steak.
The portions are big and the food is excellent.
Steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly as ordered.

My favorite appetizer is the tortilla soup, which is tomato based here and rich with chicken and cheese.

The service was very good as well, especially considering we were a group of 9 with 3 small children.
Definitely a place to come back to.

a little bit too packed for happy hour and almost impossible to get a table in the patio - also the drinks were watered down . But one positive Thing is they have a amazing white beans and artichoke hummus probably the best I have ever tried .

We went to Houlihan's randomly one night, just to finally try out the spot. We got there during their late night happy hour and just before the kitchen closed (at 10 I think).

It was a nice night so we opted for the patio, very relaxed atmosphere and they do allow smoking. There were only a few smokers so it really didn't bother me at all. Our server was pretty busy but still made an effort to come and check on us and make sure we had what we needed.

We ordered the chipotle chicken nachos as a starter - very big portion, big enough for three people to enjoy without being overly greedy. When it was time to order, I asked our server what she recommended and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and had a few favorites (I like when a server can not only give you suggestions but also tell you about the flavors, etc). She said the stuffed chicken was a fan favorite and also a favorite of hers, so that's what I went with.

It. Was. So. Good! The chicken was juicy and stuffed with cheesy goodness, the mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes (WIN) and the asparagus was crisp and had a grilled/smoky flavor to it (YES). Two thumbs up for that one...it was delicious! Rod had the BBQ chicken flatbread and the bite that I was able to get off of his plate was pretty good! His sister had the parmesan fries and those things were addictive! The sauces that they serve with were also good too.

I ordered a drink from the happy hour menu but I didn't finish it (long weekend, bad hangover)...so I'll have to come back to get a more accurate review of the bar drinks...

I visited because I had a free meal for my birthday. I had a steak, potatoes and asparagus. Everything was delicious. The service was alright, nothing to rave about. The food was warm and delicious, however the portions were quite small. Will I come back? You bet, I have a birthday next year, too! :)

Houlihan's is one of my FAVORITE places to go in Addison. Gents this is a great date night place. Quality food with out a pricey price tag.  The crowd watching is awesome. I suggest sitting in a corner booth or in the main floor in the center of the dining area. The bar area is great too if you want to be sociable. The bathrooms weren't very clean the night I went but it was very busy. Food suggestions I would say The Mac& Cheese and the Lettuce Wraps. Drink suggestions I would suggest the Strawberry Basil Lemonade hands down. I also had a Blue Berry Martini it was delicious as well. This place has the best happy our around! They also have REVERSE happy hour!

Just visited Houlihan's this evening with some girlfriends. It was great! We took advantage of the first happy hour. The special happy hour apps were gone when we arrived, but the regular apps were still a reduced price. I got a great $3 frozen margarita. My ladies got a draft beer and a mojito. Apps: Spinach dip; nachos; calamari. ALL were good! Great service. Fairly quick service, too. We sat on the patio, and the breeze was just perfect. Lovely evening. Would definitely visit again.

Addison TX...where there's a restaurant every 50 feet.  I had a birthday coupon for some money off my bill, so my buddy and I drove down there to check it out.

I'd passed this place multiple times and always thought maybe I could stop in.  However, it always looked to me like a "higher class" TGIFridays.

So my compadre and I rolled up in there and were seated in the restaurant side of the establishment.  Which operates by different rules than the bar and patio area.  Happy Hour pricing doesn't apply in the back of the place...who knew?

We started with the calamari, and it was very good.  Full of flavor.  I then had the NY Strip Steak w/ mashed potatoes and asparagus.  I liked the steak, but I like the steak I cook at home better.  The mashed potatoes and asparagus were quite good.

Would I come back?  Maybe...the problem with them is the location, I have many other places nearby I haven't tried or that I want to return to.  I don't know that it was good enough to get repeat business.

I've always thought of Houlihan's as similar to a BJ's; and it kind of is, but with a smaller, more artisan menu.  I had a great meal at Houlihan's the other night and a great time.  The skinny cocktails could be a little stronger and they could give a little more chipotle ketchup with their parmesan frites, but really I had no complaints.  Our waiter was great.  He was very friendly and very patient with our big party.  The waiter who was helping him serve our food; however, seemed to be in a bad mood.  My friend asked him for some extra ketchup and he reacted as if the request was unnecessary and ridiculous.  Just at tip, happy hour is only at the bar and the patio... also heard that the Georgia Peach Long Island Iced Tea is amazing.

Houlihan's has always been a hot spot for my friends and me since they offer reverse happy hour for food and drinks.  I went there this past weekend and was heartbroken that they didn't have the long islands on happy hour anymore.  Boo!  The Italian pizza, Thai wings, lettuce wrap, and avocado egg rolls are usually pretty good.   They changed up the parmesan fries because they used to be shoe strings so it had a nice crunch to it.

Sad to say, I was not too pleased this past experience.  If you have never been, you should definitely check it out because the patio is spacious and the bartenders and wait staff are stellar.

This place is one of my favorite reverse happy hour destinations in DFW. Half-price appetizers and drinks specials galore!

    My tried-and-true happy hour picks:
    - Calamari: their calamari is cooked with lots of great pepper-y flavor and comes with an Asian-style dipping sauce. It's even served in a Chinese takeout box. Probably my favorite HH appetizer.
    - Nachos: This is huge! It could-- and did-- feed a table of four hungry girls.
    - Parmesan Frites: I love how simple and tasty their fries are when it's served with fresh parmesan. The truffle mayo and chipotle ketchup sauces it comes with are to die for, too.
    - Strawberry Basil lemonade: Possibly my favorite alcoholic lemonade beverage of all time. SO yummy, fragrant and light.

The only thing that keeps me from giving Houlihan's 5 stars is their regular dinner service. I've only eaten here once when it wasn't happy hour, and I ordered a lemon-asparagus risotto with seared Georges Bank scallops. It was overpriced and the scallops were very overcooked.

It's really only worth going here if the food is cheap and paired with alcohol.

Good service. Awesome food. French onion soup was really good, wings were good but very small. Ribs were great! Tuna wonton dish was an unexpected surprise. I recommend this dish for sushi lovers. Outdoor and indoor seating. We will be returning to Houlihan's!

Last Saturday we finally went to this place.

There was a wait for about 15 minutes which was ok for a Saturday night. The bar was very busy and their family rooms were occupied too.

There is not much to talk about the decor. I liked their booths - very cozy.

Tried the martini flight but did not like it at all becos it was way too sweet for me. It kind of weighed down the alcohol and the powdered sugar on the rim did not help. Hubby had the wine flight and loved it.

I was excited for the variety in their small plates menu that we ordered only fsmall plates - 4 of them :-)

CALAMARI - I never like calamari becos they are chewy but this one was so crispy.  Worth a try.

BBQ CHICKEN FLATBREAD - This was so visually appealing with the green cilantro, pink onions and white sour cream and it definitely did not disappoint taste wise. Very crispy and the chicken was cooked to perfection and the bbq sauce gave that kick to the overall taste.

SLIDERS - Soft bun with the right combination of meat, veggies and sauce. Good variety here.

SPICY CHICKEN AND AVOCADO EGGROLLS - Very tasty with the creamy avocado and spicy chicken mixed in perfectly though I would have liked the roll to be crispy.

Service was ok. There is enough on the menu for me to get back again.

My stomach is full, my hunger satiated, and my mind is at ease as we drive back to flo mo from Houlihan's on this drizzly grey night. I'm not usually one for chain restaurants, but all the stars aligned to make this a truly great dining experience.

The spinach dip was right on, served with perfectly warm thick tortilla chips to scoop up every last drop of cheese.

The medium rare steak and gorgonzola in their prime steak and wedge salad united in harmony to form the ultimate tastesplosion in my mouth. The crispy iceberg wedge, golden beets, grape tomatoes, and polenta croutons in the salad perfectly accented the rich steak and cheese combination.

After trying their s'mores fondue, we decided to get rid of our camping gear because--damn--no campfire s'more could compare to fresh strawberries and sugared graham cracker sticks dipped into that melty marshmallow-ganache goodness.

I was expecting a Low end Chilis experience. The decor is modern and everything on the menu is good actually excellent. We have celebrated two B-days here now and I think I ate here everyday for lunch over the last year. The menu has enough variety that i never got sick of eating here. The manager has even bought my lunch at least 5 times in the last year. Just because i come in so much. Im giving it 4 stars because the wait staff can be hit or miss. The people that are good are great. The people that are not just are not. Still the service was not bad enough to stop me from eating here everyday. The food is that good. Also the bad wait staff does not last. hey are good about getting rid of the people that do not take their job seriously.

Food was very good Happy hour til 7:00 so price was nice.  Drinks were potent so no skimping here on alcohol.  Dirty Martini, Pomtini and Kentucky Tea.  Had two apps Calamari and Big Shrooms bar standards but both were very good.
Calamari is fried and not chewy, Big Shrooms are tasty and the dipping space is just right.  Cup of Onion Soup was quite big I guess there is a bigger one but the cup was ample.  Wife ran out of room after the soup so I ordered the Dinner size scallops to share.  Most restaurants skimp on the scallops not here there had to be 10-12 all pan seared just right. Served on a creamy risotto garnished with arugula.  Service was great very friendly and expedient.  There was a family with a young one that was a bit restless not really a little person place.  More 30 something's plus in my oppinion.

All in all very good experience I recommend it.

Love this place!! Come here with my girlfriend for happy hour. $3 off wells, $2.50 and $1 off wine. I liked the whiskey coke girl enjoyed her long island. loved them!! We always try the stuffed mushrooms and calamari which are recommended to try... Today we decided to try the chicken nachos. Good just thought they kind of shysty on the toppings. But overall was good!! We got our food and drink in a timely manner for it being extremely busy. The crowd is slightly business upscale.  But the drinks were good and the atmospher was nice.  I would definitely recommend this spot if you haven't been here. It's good for either couples or groups.  Some would say its a good spot to start off the night before you go out with friends. Anyways GO!!

This place was great! My second time visiting Houlihan's and I really enjoyed myself.
Very nice atmosphere. Sophisticated enough for a date night and chill enough to hang out with friends.
Appetizer was Sooooo delicious I wish I had some right now. The spicy chicken and avocado egg roll was just the best. I could have eaten them as a meal with fries on the side. Now when they say appetizer they really mean appetizer bc the serving size was small like a tease, which I like because I didn't get full like I usually do when I order an appetizer!
Our waiter was awesome and very friendly. When we go back I hope we get him again lol!
Overall great experience, great food, great time out!!!

They are all about the speed!! They take their 15-minute rule very seriously, and keep a stopwatch at your table.  The service is friendly and efficient, giving their name, with a smile, and a quick summary of the specials.  We had the turkey wrap 9.50 and heart grill salad 11.50.  The dishes were full of flavor, and seasoning up to par.  The chickens in both were moist and the dishes were plenty filling for lunch.  The options for sides with the wrap were plenty and the Thai slaw was not overly sweet, and a nice contrast to the wrap.  We did make a special request of no bacon on the salad, which they accommodated well, and we did not encounter any issues when the salad came out.

The only downside was the iced tea, which was water with food coloring. The cost of 2.39 was more than a bit over the top.

Met up with a few girlfriends here for their Thursday happy hour (which goes from 4:30 until fairly late, 11:00 I believe). I always forget that Houlihan's is here...maybe it's their location near a shopping strip, but I will not be forgetting anytime soon. I was reminded that their food is great, and I love the atmosphere.

We're going back for their Tuesday half-price wine night soon. :)

Great happy hour place....lots of nice looking professionals. The drinks are great...and the happy hour menu is on point. The service is pretty good too. May I add this is a great date place??

I went on a date there. Nice looking guy...works for a bank...number cruncher types. He likes UT football and red hair...so why not? I met him at the bar and it was a great place to get to know someone. The place isnt too rowdy...you can def have a conversation. The place was clean and the ambiance was good. We shared apps....talked....and got a little tipsy...thanks to the great drinks the bartender made for us. He was nice enough to pick up the cab bill for me so I can get home safely.

If you want to go to a place where you can hang out with other professionals, throw back a few after work, go on a date, or hang with friends....this is the place for you!

The drinks were good. The food is alright. I went here to have poutine.... it was good but the serving size was almost a personal size. Staff was polite.
    Mushrooms were good.
The parmesan frites were ok, the sauces were alright.
The mac and cheese was terrible...and my boyfriend did not like his black bean burger.

I have eaten at a couple of these places all over the country (or whatever cities they are in). We got a free order or frites for checking in on 4square! I had a steak which was good, not mind blowing but worth the money. The baked potato was good as well, not hard like you get at some places. Cool patio area and I will definitely be hitting this up for Happy Hour. Lunch menu is fast as well, they even have a menu with a timer so you are in and out. If the food doesn't beat the timer its free. or something like that :)

This is always a fail-safe place.  Good food, great patio and service is usually on par with that.  Sometimes it can slack, but when you are with a bunch of friends and enjoying the weather, you try to put up with it.

Place is clean and so are the bathrooms.  There is a dinning area to the right when you walk in, but I don't think it really gets used.

If you are near by, swing on thru!

This place is a good hang out place for drinks and conversation. Make sure to be seated in the patio, they have a good variety in drinks that won't break the bank.

I would recommend ordering the long island ice teas they are very strong and taste good. If you want to share some munchies with someone, order the nachos they are HUGE!

Another good thing I like, you can make reservations on Yelp.

I love me some Houlihan's! Big props to the people who do the emails cause I love getting those good deals.

    GOODS: Beer, food and environment.

BADS: A little pricey for bar food, but it's okay cause the food is above par.

Nice job management, been coming here for 3 years and it's never slumped.

I wanted to give this place at least three stars, but I don't think they deserve it.  I've eaten there several times.  And while I've never had anything that was bad, nothing I've tried has impressed me.

Perhaps I'm comparing them too much to the Houston's across the street that offers a much higher level of food quality and service.  Although their food presentation is nice, some menu items taste like they've been pre-prepared, frozen, then microwaved just before serving.  Sorry, but I'm not impressed with places that try to compensate for their mediocre food with a fancy presentation.

The atmosphere is nice, and it's a great place to chill out if you want to stop by after work for a drink.  Just don't try and compare their food and service to Houston's.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think Houlihan's is airports and Chili's. I was surprised this location was actually much nicer than both of these thoughts.

The  inside looked nice and the patio was large, open, and clean. The only drawback was that people were smoking, so for this reason alone I won't be back. Smoking is disgusting and kills...and let's be honest the prices were a little high for this type and quality of food.

    Food
I had the 10 oz Cheesy Royale Yum Yum Good Times Burger and a Blue Moon. While the name is clearly obnoxious the burger was decent. It had a heaping dose of cheesy and some type of slaw'ish sauce/lettuce. Again it was decent, but at $12.50 the burger either needs to be much larger than 10 oz or it needs to be much better tasting. You can easily get a better and larger burger for less elsewhere.

Decor and service shines; food whines

Friday happy hour and I met a friend here.  We split the chicken nachos (dang - should have listed to Nikki B!) and the calamari.  They were only $6 each, but wow, what a disappointment.  I likened it to hotel restaurant quality.

Drinks on the other hand were good.  She had wine, I had a lemon drop martini - wasn't expecting much but it was really good.

Our server, however, was stellar.  Just the right amount of fun and engaging without being overpowering.  She checked on us regularly and was quick to get anything we asked for.

I love the environment - very classy and modern - I just wish the food matched.

Me and my date ended up here after getting a coupon in the mail, I've always wanted to try Houlihan's so this was a perfect opportunity to try this place out. First of all, the inside of the place was NOT what i expected at all. I was expecting a TGI Friday's style decor but this place surprised me pleasantly. It has a modern upscale contemporary design on the inside which set the tone for a very nice vibe inside. My only gripe was that it was pretty chilly out that night and they sat us where there was an AC vent blowing cold air. bummer.

Anyways, the food was okay. We ended up getting the flat bread pizza appetizer to start off with. I can comfortably say that this was probably the best thing about our meal, very flavorful and tasty. I ended up getting the Burger 72 and my date ended up getting a seafood dish with scallops. My burger was pretty good I must say, It was seasoned and cooked well. My dates' meal looked good. I tried one and even though the presentation was nice, it wasn't very good at all. She agreed that the food wasn't very memorable and that we probably wouldn't come here again. I wanted to like Houlihan's but there just wasn't something there to make it a repeat place to come eat. Take it for what it is.

This place does not disappoint me especially during lunch hours.  They do a 15 minutes guarantee when you place your order, and after you complete your order, they start a timer.  If it doesn't come out to you in 15 minutes or under for a party of 6, the meals are free.  I love that policy especially if you are on your lunch break for work, and I've only experienced it twice where it took longer than usual.  I always order their bake potato soup and can't seem to peel myself away from ordering it.  It's REALLY GOOD!!!!  I've tried their small plates, and their flatbread pizza is one of my favorites.

If you are looking for a happy hour spot, this is the place to go, THEIR DRINKS ARE AWESOME!!!!  They have a nice patio where you can lounge outside with your friends, and they have a big bar area as well.  This is a good place for a big group, service is quick most of the time, and you will not be disappointed.

Average bar and grill. You four-squarers be sure to check in, you should get a free order of fries if you show your server. They were not happy when they gave out 8 free orders of fries to us.

Other than that, the beer list isn't impressive, and the menu is kinda thin too. More like a place you go to for other reasons than the eats and drinks. They've got a tapas menu which is kinda cool if you're just looking for food to go with your beer.

This place has become a great happy hour place for me. It's not incredible or horrible; it's just right.  And a lot of that is due to cheap prices with a trendy, cool atmosphere.

Their small plates menu with fries and flat breads, you really can't beat, ranging from $3.25-$5.25. The food won't knock your socks off but it will keep you satisfied. Happy hour is usually a lot longer here than at typical places. You get discounted appetizers and alcohol. Just beware: even though the bar area is big; it can get really crowded, especially on a Friday night.

I've never been here for an actual full on meal, because their happy hour is such a great deal. Either way, if you are in the area and looking for a great happy hour spot that won't blow your pocketbook, this is it.

I actually ate here a few years ago, and remembered it being mighty tasty, so when I hear that a business lunch I am attending will be at Houlihans, I wasn't complaining.

Gotta give some props to the almost over-attentive server. He was mega friendly, completely on point with  drink refills and getting us our food...and even gave us to-go cups for our tea (BIG TIME POINTS right there!)

I got one of the $8.95 the lunch combos (great deal for lunch...lots of food for a low price, SCORE)....they call those the "Nooners" (insert giggle). PLUS, you get it in 15 minutes or its free....nice touch, Houli. My decision landed on the Mini Burgers (2) and fries, with a Tuscan salad to start.

I would just like to start by saying that I dedicate all four of these stars to Houlihan's Tuscan Salad. By the beard of ZUES that thing was amazing. It is presented in a stacked little disc....and damnit it is awesome. Goat cheese, tomatoes, white beans and balsamic greens....heaven for the taste buds, good sir. When I go back, I may just get a big ass bowl of THAT.

The burgers were decent....they were cooked medium, on two little rolls, with cheese melted on. A little bland, but good nonetheless. My favorite part of these were the "greens" on the salad. It was chopped lettuce and tomatoes that had been tossed in Ranch dressing....I like the way these people think. My only addition would have been a thick slice of dill pickle, but that's just me ;) Fries were pretty forgettable, but that's ok...I was still in taste bliss from that salad.

Big ass bowl of salad anyone?

I met a girlfriend here last night for happy hour  - we got lucky and hit the happy hour prices so our tabs weren't too bad.

I ordered the Southern Peach LIT in the 16oz size...it took a while, but when Logan (our server, super dude btw) brought it out it was the 1 liter size. I gawked and looked at him with a questionable face and he was all, "Sorry they read the ticket wrong." The darn thing was huge and had way too many mixers in it. But whatevs, they charged me for a small with HH price, so I got one of these bad boys for $3.25!

I got through about half of it before I asked him to trash it and I ordered a vodka/soda. Ahhh, the good ole standby - it'll never let you down. Then Logan proceeded to tell me, "Yeah, I should have told you this before you ordered it, but I usually order a 1Liter but ask for it short, so there's less mixers but you pay for the big one." Thanks Logan, and by the way, aren't you underage?

My friend ordered several martinis, including the green tea, blueberry and xtini varieties. All were delicious, some better than the others.

Then we ordered Chipotle Chicken Nachos, which were on HH special. Bad move. The "chicken" was minimal, and I'm not sure if it was even chicken. My friend and I referred to it as the Mystery Meat for the rest of the night, but I am convinced it was all of the yuckies that they cut off of the chicken breasts before serving entrees. It was just plain disgusting.
The nachos weren't cheesed very well either, and the guac, salsa and sour cream dollops were the size of my thumbnail. Very, very greasy as well.

The other food that came out looked pretty good, so maybe we just hit an off night -- but then again, so did our nachos at a distance.
