Dropped in late on a Saturday night for a "snack."
By the time we left, we'd devoured three pizzas. And although I was full I would have forced myself had there been more.
This is Roman style pizza: It's crispy. It's thin. And many of the toppings are what my Sicilian grandfather would call "del nord." Capers, potato, fish, etc. They do have traditional options - veggies, margherita, 4 cheese, etc. But we opted to "do as in Rome..."
Ordered the Patate e Rosmarino, the I Monelli and the special pizza which included imported Italian tuna, rosemary, capers and olive oil.
I'm still trying to decide which one I loved more.
The flavors of the toppings were delicate and complex. The crust was perfect.
What a find.
The pasta is good - not the best I've had. But, I'll come back here for the potato rosemary pizza alone. My husband was a little skeptical of pizza with no meat, but after trying it admitted it was the best we'd tried from here. The crust isn't a typical pizza crust. It's unique, delicious and a nice change of pace from "normal" pizza.
Review Source:The diamond of all Italian "gems". This amazing little place is very far north but what a absolute gem. Nothing bad to say. I found my go to Italian spot in the city. I hope it never goes away. Amazing pizza. Perfect pasta. everything was Fresh.
Simple yet elegant. All the basics done right. Not to mention byob. Just a perfect little slice of a restaurant.
