The service is very relaxed and welcoming. Â We received a free warm oatmeal-like dish to start. Â The pupusas and steak that we ordered were prepared quickly, and both dishes were delicious. Â A complete meal for 2 for about $12. Â You can't beat that. Â I will definitely be back, and I'll bring my friends!
Review Source:I love pupusas. And I was so sad to see all the pupusarias closing.
This place though was smart enough to combine El Salvadorian/Guatemalan food of pupusas with Mexican fares. Pupusa loroco has always been on my mind after my first experience and the condiment of pickled cabbage reminds me of white Korean kimchee. I hope pupusas make a come back in Chicago and make it big. As far as pupusas go, I've had better.... BUT (and this is a big but), we don't have any other choices here in Chicago, do we?
The BEST tamales EVER? Tamal de elote! I'm not a big fan of Mexican tamales, so this came as a surprise. SWEET CORN grounded and wrapped in a leaf (banana or corn, I presume), steamed into a doughy cake. It tastes like dessert!
