Once upon a time, in this same location, there was a Thai restaurant that was one of the worst places I've ever eaten. After many assurances from other people, I finally had the pleasure of dining at Snow Spice.
Snow spice quickly became one of my favorite Thai restaurants. They make a spicy pad Thai that could burn off the worst day. They also made a delicious spicy tofu salad.
Today, following a week off near record setting suckage, I ordered dinner online. I decided to mix it up and I ordered drunken spicy noodle instead of pad Thai. They no longer had the spicy tofu salad on the menu, so I ordered spicy mushroom salad. When my order arrived, delivered by a young boy on a bike in the rain (poor kid), I excitedly paid and ran upstairs to dive into my meal. Unfortunately, I found that my vegetarian noodle dish was filled with beef. I called and explained--about three times-- what occurred and they agreed to send a replacement. I went on to the salad. Unfortunately, I'm a vegetarian and a person who does not eat fish, and it smelled and tasted like fish. It wouldn't be so much of a problem if the menu had listed fish, fish sauce, or fish paste as an ingredient. Yuck.
What's more, my replacement Drunken Spicy Noodle was not spicy. It's listed in the menu as "spicy" drunken noodle, and when given the option while ordering to choose mild, medium, or spicy, I chose spicy. The original dish--which I did pull a piece of broccoli out of while waiting 45 for the replacement-- was spicy. Did they change it because the delivery kid (who called to confirm my replacement order) saw I was white? I feel like every time a Thai restaurant realizes I'm white they give me a mild dish. Yes, I am aware that I am super pale, but I also love spicy food. Next time I order spicy bring it on.
I don't know what changed since my last order, but get your act together!
Their delivery speed is excellent, and the food quality is consistently very good. Love the peanut sauce that goes with their chicken satay. Their wontons are always crispy and delicious. I'm not sure their curry is necessarily authentic, however it IS delicious, just the right amount of spicy, Â and the veggies are top notch. Fried rice is solid. On several occasions I've had them include a bonus side with my order for free, which is just awesome.
The owner actually made my delivery once and he was incredibly friendly. All in all this is my favorite delivery spot in the neighborhood.
