C & S Pub

My friend and I headed over here after we tired of another bar in the area. It was a refreshing change of atmosphere and a real dive in the good sense. We were basically the only people there and the bartender chatted us up while we took over the pool table. Drinks were quite affordable and I recommend it if you're looking for something low key.

One Saturday night after watching a Blackhawks game we were chased out of a bar (well not really chased just felt the very strong urge to leave since a bad cover band had started to play) and felt that it was just too early to go home. So we went across the street the C & S Pub. It had a pool table a internet jukebox and only 2 other people in it. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks and started putting money in the jukebox and quarters in the pool table. The bar tender remembered 2 people in our group from a visit almost 6 months prior and was glad they had come back. As we started playing pool and had drunken sing alongs the other patrons of the bar really really started to get into it. They even started taking pics with us and moved chairs from the bar since "they were in the way" of us playing pool. (They weren't really but it was a very nice gesture none the less.) By the end of the night everyone was having so much fun the bartender came around the bar and my friend started serving her drinks all the while she's laughing her head off. She told us to come back any time and to befriend them on Facebook. She liked us so much she cooked a couple of pizzas for us to enjoy and said they were on the house. A dive bar can't get any better than the C & S Pub.
