My husband and some friends went to the IHOP on Day & Main. By the time the waiter took our order it was about 11:15 pm. About 45 mins later my husband and friend were told that they did not have T-bone steak which was what they both ordered. We asked to speak with a manager because we simply thought it would not make any sense for them to order anything else because it had already been 45 mins (for them to realize that they didn't even have the food that they ordered) and we didn't feel like waiting another hour for them to get whatever else they were going to order. We asked to speak with a manager, Tyler who was on duty. He was very rude and told us that as soon as the cooks got our ticket that HE was told that they did not have any t-bone steaks (of course no one decided to tell us this fact until 45 mins later!). Â THERE IS NO EXCUSE, WE WERE THE FIRST ONE'S OF OUR GROUP TO ORDER! Our order should have been on the top of the list. And on top of that we were the biggest group there and the most they had was maybe 10 other people there. What was INFURIATING is that he began ARGUING with us and telling us that we had not been waiting for 45 mins for our food. My friend had checked in on her phone on Facebook indicating the time we arrived at the restaurant on foursquares. We ordered our food at about 11:15 and by the time we got upset and walked out, we were in the car by 12:55 after we paid for our drinks. When we checked our receipt the time said 12:08 so either he changed the time on the register to give him a good alibi or the time on the register was wrong to begin with. Because both the time in our car as well as on my cell phone had the correct time, 12:55. Â I know that he is a new manager simply because we have been going to that IHOP for several years. At the VERY least if i ordered 45 minutes ago, and you didn't have a T-bone steak, then why exactly do we not have at least the pancakes, hash browns or the eggs that were ordered? My husband and I will NOT be going back to IHOP after this episode. There was another occasion right before this one where I sat down while everyone received their food and i was sitting for at least 10 minutes before i finally called the waiter over and asked him where my food was. The manager at that time was a little more accommodating and did not charge us for the meal. But the current manager is incompetent, very rude and arrogant. I WILL NOT be eating there again.
Review Source:I can't believe nobody's reviewed the ihop yet? , why isn't there a zero star? . . . Well here it goes
I've been to Ihop on 3 different occasions since they've opened years ago. The first time was about a year after opening. Myself and some family went for late night pancakes (9-10pm) they made a terrible impression right from the start. It took nearly 20 minutes just to put in our drink orders. It was not overly busy and they didn't look understaffed. Well once our drinks were ordered we had a hell of a time getting refills. To make a long story short, we waited over 3 HOURS for our food. I have no idea to this day what compelled me to stay. Not to mention the food sucked that night.
The next occasion I went with a buddy for breakfast. Food took forever, portion size was small, and staff was very unfriendly.
after those 2 experiences i swore i'd never go back! . . . until.....
My wife and I had been watching Wheel of Fortune and they are sponsored by (guess who) IHOP! Well after about a week of seeing commercials for what looked like delicious stuffed french toast she talked me into giving it 1 more chance, huge mistake! undoubtedly the food looked 10000x better on tv then it ever was in person. Portions were again very small, food took forever and the staff was borderline RUDE! After this I made it crystal clear i would NEVER go back again!
I started asking myself, how the hell does this place stay in business? Well judging by the surplus of handicap parking, and all the white heads in the windows, old folks just don't know any better. .
