Interstate Kitchen & Bar

I had dinner with a large group of friends at Interstate last night.  It was a quiet Sunday and you could tell they were not full-staffed.  The waitress did an amazing job at handling our group (25+ people!) and was friendly throughout our visit.  The atmosphere is very cool, the food was great and extremely reasonably priced.  I could take a bath in that mac n cheese.  Great selection of drinks.  It was a great time, definitely going back.

This is one of my new favorite places. It's in the Santa Fe Art District, which I love, and this place just hits it off the mark for me.

We ended up sitting at the bar since there was a wait (even though Open Table said we could make a reservation at the time we showed up), and I'm glad we did. The bartender was friendly and reminded me of my cousin, so I like him even more.

We ordered the veggie burger, a regular burger, and the catfish po' boy, and we were all happily satisfied with our meals. The fries were awesome, but the home made salt + vinegar chips are to die for. I suggest getting those over any other side.

Also, he introduced me to slushee shots (cherry slushee with a little bit of vodka) which made my night.

I want to come back here. Right now.

We had our baby shower here and it was awesome! The room, food and service were  great! I had this idea that we needed to find a tea room... couldn't find one that met my needs. Then I thought about brunch service called around and it seemed like an ordeal to book a large party. So Interstate finally came to mind, I usually think of it as a dinner/bar place but they do have brunch and a private room so I'm glad we booked it!

We had a breakfast buffet that everyone seemed to enjoy. We had more people than expected and the staff squeezed in another table for us. It was tight, but it worked. They comfortably fit 25-30 and I think we had 10 extra. We had several kids too. They were quick to bring out a highchair for one of our guest baby.

They came through. It was a cool place for a baby shower, no stuffy tea room needed. I highly recommend for a birthday party or shower.
