First time there, and I would go back. I read all the reviews so I had a negative feeling about it. Absolutely different story. It's really not in the middle of nowhere. It's right off of 66. Staff and employees there were helpful, the cops and event people were not all over everybody's business, not ruining people's fun. I was in the PIT right in front of the stage. However, I left the concert early and waited 0 seconds to escape from the parking lot. Highly recommended. I didn't even have to hit my brakes. Just turned and drove straight out.

I won free lawn tickets to the Lynyrd Skynyrd/Bad Company show. The both rocked and it was one of the best shows I've attended. The venue is huge and they opened the gates around 6 for a 7pm show. By the time Skynyrd took the stage around 9, the place was PACKED. The venue isn't bad at all, with lawn seating being plentiful if you arrive early and can even rent a chair for $5 if sitting on a blanket isn't your thing. Get a shaded spot by the pavilion and it will save you a sunburn. I didn't try any food but note you can bring in one sealed bottle of water and food that will fit in a one gallon plastic bag.

As everyone says, get there 2 hours early or so to park if you don't want to risk a long line to get into the parking lot. Leaving can be as much of a nightmare as everyone says, so it's either leave a little before the show ends or be at the mercy of the vengeful traffic gods.

This isn't a bad venue but parking/exiting can be a nightmare so be forewarned.

Note: above review is based on having good weather. If it rains I'm guessing the venue and its gravel parking lot become some sort of muddy pit of despair as thousands flee the lawn to cars sinking like quicksand into the Virginia mud.

Great place to watch a summer concert! $5 rental chairs and the big beers are not too bad. Sounds and view is good no matter where you are.

Traffic is the only big deal, getting in/out can take some time depending on the group playing.  Its also fun to see the varieties of people that come out depending on the venue. Long hair and jeans for aerosmith- girls with cowboy boots and shorts for Brad Paisley

Fun place to listen to concerts, only 40 minutes from Springfield area.
