I was looking forward to eating the food from here but if you're doing delivery, make sure that you're three miles away from the place because they won't go any further.

Horrible! Ordered delivery.  Got crabmeat fried rice, chicken pad see ew, and chicken pad-krapow and everything was extremely greasy, oily and salty!! It was very difficult to eat.  Food tasted old, crabmeat had an off flavor, definitely not fresh. Chicken was salty. Noodles were overcooked. There's much better thai places out there. Overpriced for the quality of food and portion. My boyfriend even said his McDonald's earlier tasted better than this meal. Would not waste your time and money at this place.  I spent a good $42 on a crappy 3-item meal. Never again!

We have been craving Thai food since we moved back from England and decided to give this place a try.  Food was pretty good just a little different from what we are used to. We were the only customers seated in the dining area.  Would not suggest kids go.  No children's portions/prices which was a little disappointing.  Our son just wanted Thai rice with no meat and ended up ordering an adult rice dish with meat since it was the same price.  Our server was very attentive and friendly.

I thought long and hard if I was going to share this experience or not and I almost decided not too but Mark at Kanjana made me realize that I should.

I used to like this place, close to the house and they actually have very good food.  So today we decided to treat ourselves for some take out for dinner.  We ordered 3 orders of spring rolls, panang curry with shrimp, soft shell crab panang and chicken satay.  In the middle of dinner, I notice something funny in my mouth, I spit it out and was mesmerized with what I've seen... Not just one hair.... But a clump of them... entangled with some curry sauce.  After that,  I don't want to go on details on what happened next, let's just say I was angry, light headed and exhausted.

Okay fine... What do I expect... Things happen on fast food... It should be expected!  What I can't believe is how I was treated afterwards.  My husband called first and end up speaking to Mark who really didn't seem apologetic at all.  All he could offer my husband is a credit next time we visit the restaurant.  Look I don't about anyone else but I know it will be a life and death situation before I step in inside this establishment again... Maybe to use the restroom but definitely not to eat.  So my husband asked for his money back and promised to send a picture of this "thing" via email.  Mark insist that it must have been some mussels hair rather than human hair even though we did not order any mussels, I guess he's pertaining to the shrimp?  But Mark said he can only refund the portion for the curry.  At first we agreed but later realized that they were not apologetic but instead very accusatory.  So we called back and demanded for the full refund.  Mark agreed.

We went back to the restaurant bringing back the rest of the food un-eaten.  As I arrived, the wait staff called Mark to attend to me.  As he greeted me with an attitude, he automatically asked for the "thing", I gave him the paper bag and placed the container where I kept this clump of hair.  He then opened the container and picked up the hair and started pinching it with his fingers, while standing in front of me by the bar.  I told him to stop doing this or else I might end up throwing up on his counters. He then proceeded by telling me that " oh you see it from the mussels!"  I was speechless.  I could not do anything but look away and held everything in... And Breathe.....

Anyway, as this was happening one of the server were suppose to be voiding my ticket, only to find out that they voided my initial purchase and re-runned my card for a lesser amount, only refunding the curry.

I was so stunned... I then told the server that is not what I agreed on... I expected the full amount to be refunded.  Mark then explained that it was a miscommunication since it wasn't hair they were not going to refund the money but only once, in my case, they will do so.... Gosh! This establishment must be desperate or just plain dumb!

So I guess I am suppose to be great-full !!!

So here I am sharing my experience to you and to give Mark the benefit of the doubt that maybe, the "thing" is not human hair but instead some mussels hair?  you to decide! Whatever it is it shouldn't have been on my food in the first place.

    What a disappointment ... 0 zero stars

Very tasty food. We typically get pad kaprow, but every other item we've tried has been just as good. Recently I've noticed their spicy food seems to be getting more and more spicy though - to the point it was inedible it was so hot (and I like spicy!).

I've never seen the dining room packed, so it's a nice quiet place to grab a bite. Their delivery is very fast too($20 minimum order).

Being close to the office, Kanjana ends up being our once a week stop for lunch.

Consistently good across the board and I am addicted to the yellow curry with pork.

Good stop if you are looking for a good snack in a quiet little place.

Good place for lunch.  I've gotten the drunken noodle and pad thai here and both are tasty.  It has a nice atmosphere and good service as well.

The best Thai food I've had in the Viriginia -DC area!!!!!  The crabmeat fried rice is loaded with huge chunks of fried rice.  The soft shell crab penang is outstanding!  And the service is always good!!!!  My only regret is that they don't serve Hom Lok Talay, but I've asked that they consider offering it as a special!

We really like Kanjana Thai! he restaurant is nicely appointed and quiet and never crowded. Excellent service! The waitresses are always so pleasant and they keep you iced tea refilled. I've tried Pad Krapow, Pad Prik Pow, and Drunken Noodle and enjoyed them all. Always tasty and delicious. I order the main dishes with chicken. We also typically order Chicken Satay and Crispy Spring Roll appetizers.

Stopped in mfor lunch on a Saturday. Wife and I shared pad see ew with tofu and penang curry with chicken. Excellent flavors except for the tofu--tasted like it was fried yesterday and reheated. That said, I'll give them another chance based on the rest of the meal, but will stay away from the tofu.

This place is great! Tucked into a little mall, your expectations upon seeing it might be a little low, but once you walk in the smells will win you over right away.

It's really great. Cool, sleek decor with lots of great menu items and great, fresh ingredients. Great place to go!

Didn't really find anything special about this place. Food was pretty mediocre and took an above average amount of time to be served. Wasn't by any means bad but with so many other options, I think I will go elsewhere next time.

Best Thai food I've had in Springfield, very clean a nice quiet atmosphere.  I don't think I have ever seen it very busy which I find odd.  Staff is very friendly and helpful, a little pricey, but good food all around.  I usually get friend rice or but have tried various noodle dishes that have all been good.  Spring rolls are good as are all of the soups.  Very consistant food the handful of times I've been there.

I've been here 3 times in the past 3 days... Their seafood Pad Thai is wonderful! And they have a full bar! Not sure how it is because I come here on my lunch break while I'm at work... But it seems like it would be a great happy hr spot or first date spot as well!

I live right down the road from Kanjana Thai so I was so happy to see a Thai restaurant open so close to  my house. The food is great!  My regular order is the Pad Kra Prow with Chicken. Service is excellent and very friendly. I get carryout here on a regular basis and plan to keep coming back because it is the kind of food I was having to go outside of Springfield to enjoy.

Love thai food, if you do too you will enjoy this place as well if you are in the area.  Lunch time gets to be a bit busy but they service is fast so you will not have to wait very long. Their fried rice dishes are super yum along with the spring rolls. The staff was friendly and the menu has a lot of options to choose from.

Guay-Teaw-Tom-Yum changed my life.  It's like Pad Thai in Tom Kha soup. The waitresses are polite and willing to help you with the menu if you aren't sure about something...

I called in my order of Drunken Noodles for lunch and it was ready as soon as I arrived.  By the way, it tastes excellent and it is pleasingly spicy.  Not too spicy for a workday mealtime, but just spicy enough where it lingers on my tongue.  The place is very clean, staff is super friendly and I only wish I could have tipped more than I had (due to just starting a new job). I highly recommend this place and plan on going back at least once a week once my income becomes regular :D

A gem in the nook of the Rolling Road shopping center. We used to come here on a weekly basis to satisfy our Tom Yum noodle soup craving. I love this restaurant and the flavors in that bowl of yummy goodness. We were back in the area and paid visit today. Also got our usual appetizer of fried tofu. Oh, how I have missed it and the service is always great!

Went their for lunch the other day and the food was amazing. The spring rolls were authentic. If you never had a real one, go here to see how they should be made. The food was great, reasonable priced and the service was great.

My men always go to the Chipotle next door. So I 1 day I decided to try this place. The first two times I had the crab fried rice. It was yum! But maybe more crab & a  little  salad on the side came with it. That would be nice really nice too. So last night I tried the crispy duck with basil sauce. It was crispy, juicy very yummy. The sauce that came with it was very n I mean very mild. Next time I have to tell them to make it extra extra extraaa hot:) I also had the crispy egg roll...ehh it was ok too much meat for me. My husband had the pork fried rice & wontons. He liked the rice not so much the wontons. Can you make them a tad bigger please?:) My son had the calamari...no feedback on that.
So I guess that's a good sign! I think? Haha
All in all a good place & good service too!:)

This is a good neighborhood Thai restaurant, one of the many popping up here and there. The interior is clean and modern, service is prompt, and food is average to good. I have yet to try their drunken noodles, which to me are always a measure. Their fried rice was ok, I make it better though :-). Ok, drunken noodles were ok. I mean, this place is ok for lunch, people

this place is awesome ... been there 3 times, delivered every single time.  the soups are fresh.  I got drunken noodle the first time, panang the 2nd and thai fried rice the third ...

the meat in the dishes are seasoned and fresh as well. service is great ... decor is pleasant.

got the tom kha all three times ... to die for.

the only bad thing about the place is that it ruined the thai restaurant next to my job - the food there does not taste the same after going to Kajana.

    love it.

    Whew!  My first review!  =)
This place is close to my parents house and since my brother wanted to go to Chipotle which is next door I decided to give this place a try.  Afterall, I love thai food!.  I've read a lot about how wonderful their appetizers are so I ordered the dumplings.  They were actually quite tasty with a bite to them I guess from the water chestnuts.  My main dish I got the  shrimp drunken noodle and asked for it extra spicy since I love spicy food.  I was quite dissapointed in this dish.  Now, I know that this dish isn't supposed to be "light", but it was pretty much noodles with some chopped veggies with shrimp literally swimming in oil.  I've had this dish MANY times at other thai places and it was NEVER this oily.  My food was literally drowning in oil.  I couldn't eat it.  I give 3 stars because the appetizer made up for it.  They do make some mean dumplings.  =)    I'll have to try again next time.  The wait staff was very friendly and kind.

Bonus: Thai Donuts! One word: DELISH!

Finally! Something decent that has replaced that God awful Mexican restaurant, also known as: Cactus Taverna. Half of what was formerly known as Cactus Taverna has turned into a Chipotle and the other half: Kanjana. Beautiful, modern decor, open, well lit - a total 360 from the grungy mess I recall of the previous establishment.

I was surprised by the genuine kindness and professionalism our waitress expressed when seating and serving us. With the combination of the atmosphere and the service, I kinda felt guilty for showing up for lunch looking like I rolled out of bed. Oops!

Food - yum! VERY impressed by the chicken in their Tom Yum soup. I am accustomed to over cooked chicken in my Tom Yum. Kanjana did it perfectly with tender chunks of chicken and loads of mushrooms - love it.  I also had a plate of chicken fried rice which wasn't too shabby either.

Make sure to ask for the seasoning tray if you need to kick up the heat on your food. Their two chili pepper signs really equate to a one chili pepper sign.

I have now eaten here twice and I have been disappointed both times.  I love a good chicken pad thai, but have ended up eating relatively bland noodles with chicken and scallions in it.

The decor is nice and updated from the precious occupants of the space and the staff is friendly, but the prices are higher then I think they should be.

It will be several months before I decide to return and give them another try.

Mediocre at best. I was excited to see a new Thai place close by to my house. Friendly wait staff but the seemed a little lost. The food was average. The egg rolls were horrible! Too big and greasy and salty....Stay away from that.  The have  delivery but this night they said they had no delivery guy so we opted to go there and dine.

Spicy basil fried rice was ok nothing great. Drunken noodles overcooked.

I will give this place a second try though too see if it was maybe an off day for them.

I was in an unknown area a few days ago and was looking for a place to grab lunch at.  I saw the word "Thai" from about a mile away, so I obviously bee lined for it.  The staff were very friendly and the food was great.  The drunken noodles here are an instant win.  I would go back if it wasn't so far from my house :(

I decided to try out this new place, hoping to find a Tara Thai copy cat near work.  I ordered a vegetarian pad thai for take-out.  I'm not a big risk taker when it comes to trying new restaurants.  I wanted to try a non-carb dish, but I didn't want to be hungry and upset, just in case it didn't work out.  How bad could they mess up a pad thai?  (although it had happened to me at a Thai restaurant in Tyson's a few years ago.)

The place looked clean.  The decor is simple and modern - good enough for a casual lunch or dinner.  Their ambiance is very different from Tara Thai.

Kanjana's Pad Thai is made with brown sauce different from Tara Thai's clear sauce.  I don't even know that the sauce is called.  Even though I was disappointed that Kanjana was not a copy cat of Tara Thai, I liked their version of Pad Thai.  I have had many brown-sauce-based pad thai and never really liked it as much as Kanjana's.  It wasn't overly sweet.  It wasn't overly drenched in sauce.  The consistency of noodle was good.

$8.35 after tax for lunch. Too pricey for lunch, in my opinion, but I would go back next time when I'm in the mood for some Pad Thai at work.

A few improvements I would like to see:

    - the broccoli pieces in the veggie pad thai were not as fresh as I would like.  I saw some white paches which indicates to me how old they are.

    - I didn't find any utensils or napkins in my carry-out bag. :-(

    - they need to lower their lunch prices, if they want to compete with other lunch vendors in the area.  My coworkers agreed.

I gave 4-stars, because I would like to go back and try their other dishes.  I'm not a fan yet.  I'm very happy that I have an option to choose Thai menu for lunch.

We ate at this new Thai restaurant last night, and it was very good!  It just opened in the last week, so things are not perfect yet.  I had the Pad Thai, which was very good (although not that difficult).  The noodles were not rubbery, as I find with some restaurants.  My husband had the curry panang, which was delicious.  It was  a great mix of spicy and sweet.  We also had the chicken satay as a starter, which was fantastic!  The sauce was amazing.

There is not any alcohol here yet, which was disappointing.  However, they did tell us they are just waiting on their liquor license.  The decor is nice - very sophisticated, but you can tell it's new.  It feels a bit sterile right now.

I look forward to going back to try more food and think this will definitely be a regular neighborhood visit.
