Gotta love a place with good strong drinks, decent food and really fun bar tenders! Kendall especially was AWESOME! She was really sweet and made everyone feel welcome and above all poured really good drinks!

This place is definitely a really fun hang out and they have killer drink deals. They also show the UFC fights!

Kendall's has one of the worst bartenders in Chicago.  The last time I went, the service was severely slow and the wait staff had no clue what the specials were.  When they screwed up a drink order (we order a special) and we brought it to their attention, the bartender checked the special, acknowledged that we ordered the special, gave us a blank stare and didn't correct the order.  Instead she charged us full price for the drinks (which we hadn't touched yet).  I'm always a great tipper, especially at bars, but this woman certainly earned the miniscule tip I gave her.

I'm never going back to this bar ever again.

I come here for $1 bottles on Thursdays as well as $7.50 1 topping pizza. Nothing like have 7-8 beers with friends, watching sports on televisions all around you, and eating good thin crust pizza for under $15 in Lincoln Park. It's hard to beat.
The bartender Lindsay is friendly, helpful, and will keep the drinks coming as soon as you are done with your round. She's a big reason for 5 stars!

As for the weekends here Friday happy hour can be busy, but other than that it is pretty dead, which is a good thing if you want to grab a beer/drink quickly and actually be able to talk to your friends. If you want to shout to speak to your friends and you enjoy not moving in a bar, as well as wait 10 minutes for a drink then Kendall's isn't for you. As a bonus they serve late night food during the week and weekends. The crowd is mostly 21-26, but what do you expect for the DePaul neighborhood?

I don't get it because Kelsey's has a pretty good rating and Kendall's not so much. They are the same bar, just not connected. Same specials, same menus, same environment.

I don't know how to feel about Kendall's.  Kinda in a class of its own.  Often play Girls Gone Wild on the big screens...  makes it a bit uncomfortable for some people..  I don't mind so much....  But why do they play it, I guess is what I ask myself.  The softball league from Ox Park keeps this place busy on Sundays.  A giant college party most of the time, from my experiences.  20 person flip-cup games and maybe some quarters in the back.  I've always enjoyed myself.  Moderation is key.

It's a bar for youngins and/or those still trying to relive their youth.  Unfortunately, I fell into the latter when I stumbled in here on St. Paddy's day.  That is my one day of the year where I celebrate like I'm a 21 year old Irish gal - don't judge me.

Anywho, it was fun.  It's not a place where I would find myself normally nor a place where I would seek out - but it was fun.  And I'm not opposed to stopping in should I ever be in the neighborhood or something.

I worked with Matt (manager) to setup Northwestern game watch parties at Kendalls and I can't tell you how accommodating they are. Their staff is wonderful and bent over backwards for anything that we needed. They made sure that our fans felt comfortable and had great specials. I also thought they had a fairly decent menu. I know that tater tots aren't a gourmet food, but they have some of the best that I've had. I should try to go here more, but I have always had a great time.

This is THE place for Bengals fans in Chicago! Great atmosphere, Bengals games on WITH SOUND, and a brunch that includes Skyline Chili. Also had drink specials like  22 oz. domestic drafts for $4 and $3 domestic bottles on Sunday.

I was so excited to find this place, with its giant Who-Dey banner outside, and I will be returning many a Sunday.

On Thursdays bottles of beer are $1. Its true. This sounded like an excellent idea on Thursday night, however, as I write this review on Friday morning I am beginning to rethink that.

Super crowded, there were some game on the TVs, and unless its the Bears I'm not watching. Service was pretty friendly, a lot of people were eating. There are a lot of bars on this strip on Lincoln so I liked that. We stayed at Kendall's last night though and had a pretty good time. My buddies played pool all night and I was presently surprised by the music selection. Kind of sounded like what  you would hear at a club-ish but it wasn't over mixed and not overly loud either.

Can't vouch for the weekend but it had a pretty friendly vibe, based on the other reviews I might pass on the food but next time I feel like ignoring the fact that I get up at 5:30 am everyday for work, I'll probs be back here.

Yelp says I'm a regular here, so I guess I should review it. The only reason I'm a "regular" is because my boyfriend's softball team comes here after their games every Wednesday night.

Wednesdays are fun! $2 pints and $7.50 pizzas to go along with an interesting and unique form of team trivia called Brackets. It's basically like a NCAA bracket, but you pick the best beers or cartoon characters or video games. Popular vote wins. The people who get the most points in every round win gift certificates to local businesses. Oh, and ties are broken by flip cup. Sweet.

Bottom line: Kendall's is great on a weeknight, but avoid it on the weekends unless you like dudebros knocking back Jaegerbombs.

Went here to watch the NU v. Rice game.  Now I understand Rice has some stupid exclusive tv/recording situation, and that the problem with the feed was on their end....that said, if you have a bar FULL of people there to watch/listen to the game, why do you keep putting on top 40 pop lists?!?!  Just play the game on the radio.  Hell, the entire bar was chanting radio at one point, but they still didn't get it.

$8 pitchers of piss beer-which I guess is tolerable, but I hope I never go back to this place again....we gotta get some better bars Northwestern fans.

If you come here for a sporting event, get here two hours beforehand.

If you are coming here to eat, God bless you. I suggest you load up on grub elsewhere then come.

This place is supercrowded, and if you look up sausagefest on Wikipedia this is the only bar photographed on the page.

Lots of testosterone, bathrooms that were no different than your fraternity house, and beer specials that would make any 22 year old mess his pants.

I can't give it a one star, because they are obviously doing something right, I am bitter that I no longer have the time in my life to arrive somewhere two hours early just to get a table, and I'm not 22, but it is important that you know what you are in store for once you show up.

If you miss the frat days of old and raising hell with your brothers, you can re-live it all in a night at Kendalls. Unfortunately, it's a lot more like Chapter as opposed to the actual parties. You need women for those.

This is where the Jersey Shore guys would go if JWoww and Snookie annoyed them to no end and they just wanted guy time for a couple hours.

To quote Desmond from Lost, see you in another lifetime Brother.  Aw heck, who am I kidding. I'll be back for Money Mayweather's beatdown of  Pacquiao.

Good job Kendalls! You got the finely shredded cheese!

I had a waaaay better experience when I came in for the playoff game (too bad there was only one before the Bengals LOST).

Great deal on buckets, and hung out with some really cool people. See you next season!

Went on a Friday night.  As others have commented, for $10, you can unlimited cheap beer and eats (bad pizza, chips/salsa, wings).  I had a good time b/c of my company, but it wasn't necessarily my cup of tea.  (But then again, I don't go out to massive bars like this too often.)  Very noisy, spotty service (waitresses running around b/w multiple tables which is easily conducive to forgetfulness), and too crowded perhaps.  Go here if you're looking to bump shoulders with people and get your cheap drinking on.

    Meh

Came here Thursday with my friend, it was $1 bottled beers...awesome!  No food specials, but with $1 beer special, that was A-OK with me!  Three years ago my roommates and I moved to Chicago w/out jobs and the Friday night happy hour $10 all you can drink and eat special made our weeks!  We came all the time, it was a cheap way to get our dinner and drink on for the night!  I haven't been for that in months, but hope to do it sometime again soon!  If you want a table, you do have to go early and the food line is always long...but for $10, it's still a great deal!

My coworkers and I have recently added this place into our regular Friday happy hour rotation.  This place is a good throwback to the college years, as its a dark bar with an amazing food/drink deal and a young looking crowd. $10 will get you all you can eat (chips, pizza, wings) and drink (really cheap beer) from 5-9.  This makes it a perfect starting point for the night, as we typically just roam somewhere else after the deal is over at 9.

I want to give this place more stars, but the service has been hit or miss for me the handful of times I've gone.  Also, I wish the food came out more frequently. If you blink when the food periodically comes out of the kitchen, you may not see a single piece of pizza the 4 hours you're there. But for $10, can you really complain?

Came in here on Saturday to watch a little KU whoop some booty in basketball. OK, they didn't cream TN, but they did win. Besides the workers, I think we were the only ones in there. No big deal. How often do you get to hang at a quiet bar? There was soft music, with no sound coming from the TVs. OK, whatever. We ordered our drinks and rolled with it. The staff is friendly and the service was good. The bathroom? Stinks! Good thing I didn't order food, because I would have ralphed it up as soon as I stepped foot in there. I'm getting nauseated just thinking back about the horrific experience.

Went to Kendalls for the UFC fight with some friends.  Standard bar fare, including chicken fingers with an excellent honey mustard, at decent prices for the area.

Service was a bit lacking, but that may have been from the sheer number of fired up DUDES in the place.  I'll go for UFC again, but that's about it.

I have never really been here on any other night other then Friday 6-9 for the $10 drink deal and it seems like any other time it would maybe suck.

Pretty solid as long as you get there early enough to get a table, if you do not get a table then it sucks.

I do remember going to this deal any chance I got and now its worn off a little but the deal is still fun once in a while.  Plus, the pizza and wings are not that bad so for a fun night out cheap on a Friday you cant go wrong.

As evidenced by some of my other reviews, I love blacking out at college bars. I have always had a fine time at the Kendalls Friday all you can drink deal, though it gets crowded and its sometimes difficult to get your waitress' attention, but you get what you pay for. Generally speaking, I would give the place four stars.

However, after last night, I will not go back. We rolled in about halfway through the Cubs game to enjoy $2 PBRs and $6 pizza. The place was pretty empty--us, maybe three tables, and a Kendalls-sponsored volleyball team. The three of us sat down at the bar and ordered a round of beers. We asked to open a tab, and one of my friends handed over his debit card, but said that we would pay cash at the end.

The bartender, from the beginning, was just overflowing with attitude. I get it--you work at a bar that is a stone's throw away from DePaul and you always have to deal with annoying college kids. But hey, it's the summer, most of those kids are back at home in Buffalo Grove, and it's a quiet Wednesday night. Every time one of our beers was nearly empty, she would just stand in front of us, rolling her eyes and asking "did you want another one?" as though moving her hand six inches upward to pour a glass of delicious PBR was the most trying task ever.

I have no problem admitting when I am being high maintenance or a pain in the ass. The three of us were nothing but easy, friendly, and did nothing to provoke any attitude.

After a second round, we ordered a pepperoni pizza. It came quickly, but the pizza tasted like absolute crap and I ended up vomiting later in the night (unfortunately I didn't have enough beers to blame it on that). Maybe it was the pizza, maybe it wasn't...I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.

One of the volleyball players came up to the bartender and asked about free pitchers for their team. I guess his understanding was that sponsorship included free pitchers. The bartender callously explained that he needed to present coupons in order to get pitchers, but that she could do one free round of shots. I thought this was a nice gesture, until I heard her say "Shots or nothing" in a tone of voice that should be reserved only for telling off the guy who just stabbed your mother.

So after a third round and a Cubs loss, we decided to call it a night. We asked the bartender for our check, which was like $30. Sweet, right? At least the cheap bill was. Again, plenty of attitude upon the delivery of the check and our payment thereof. Finally two of us called her out on it, and her response was, "I have worked here for four years--it's a habit." Whaaaat!? I guess what we learned last night is that working behind the bar at Kendalls for four years turns you into a raging bitch.

    It's a shame...they have pretty good wings.

This place was one of my favorites when I first moved to Chicago because they had a $10 all your can drink special on Fridays which included pizza and other appetizers.  I think it was from 6-9 or something like that and I'm not really sure if they still do that since I haven't been for quite awhile.

I've kind of outgrown this place, as well as it's twin next door Kelsey's, but it is a great little college bar with good drink specials.  Good place to watch games, lots of televisions.  Kind of small inside so get there early because otherwise you'll be standing and they pack them in there like sardines.

I was very excited to go to Kendalls to watch UFC 86.  It's one of the few bars in Chicago I'm aware of that actually airs MMA pay-per-views.  I figured there would be lots of TVs, a good crowd, and someone serving me drinks.

I was overall disappointed in the $10 cover to watch the fight.  I understand that it costs thousands of dollars to air a PPV in a bar, but considering that their pitcher special was also $10, that was absurd.  Also, with no well special I was stuck drinking the domestic pitchers.  The big projection TVs were not in HD, which was also disappointing.

Having a waitress was nice because towards the end of the fight the place was an absolute zoo, but I had to show up an hour early to get a table.  The service was average considering the number of people there but it definitely could have been better.  I have no idea how hard it would have been to get a drink from the bar, but my guess is that it would have been very difficult.

The only positive is that it was a lot of fun to watch the fight with a crowd.

I hope to find another bar in Chicago that airs UFC fights.  If someone knows of a good one, please let me know.  I'd rather watch the fight at home than go to Kendall's again.

When payday is yet forthcoming at the end of the week and we want to get a drink and some chow earlier in the week, we'll occasionally go to Kendall's after work.  I think it's Wednesday when they have $5 large thin crust pizzas with 1 topping.  Can't beat that, and while it's not Pat's or Gino's, it's a-ok for bar pizza.  I think the only other items I've had here are wings and tater tots.  Not bad, and I haven't heard any of my friends complain about what they've tried here, just that it's average bar fare like on Kincade's and Kelsey's mirrored menus.

    Now for the atmosphere...

I didn't go to DePaul, so I have only experienced the post-10pm Douchebag Scene on Lincoln Avenue a handful of times.  We all know that other people can ruin your experience of a restaurant or bar because of how self-unaware they are and the way they conduct themselves in public.  I am by no means referring only college students of Lincoln Park.  I like to drink as much as the next guy, probably more, but for God's sake, contain yourself and put the porcupine hair and shower shoes away!

Bottom line is that Kendall's is a solid bar to hit up after work with a few friends, but if you're into going out late-night, like Grand Central, avoid Kendall's at all costs.

I admit that I'm far from perfect and am a kid at heart, but I don't think I've seen more grown men and women act so immaturely in public.  It's kind of like people on Bourbon Street who think that just because New Orleans is known for its "revelry" that it's okay to act like a douchebag.

My soapbox just caved in...I must stop now!

It's been awhile since I've been in Kendall's, but I guess that's mostly because I view it as a college bar. Definitely better than most of the bars in that neighborhood, but it wouldn't be my top choice or a night out. I do enjoy going there to watch college basketball come February/March and the Thursday night special was always pretty good back in the day.

I've been a fe w times back in the day. I am too old & wise to go back now...

Obnoxious DePaul kids, Lincoln Park 'studs' & 'trixies' and men over 30 looking to bag a early-20 something frequent this place.

It's so weird that I thought I've been to this bar before, but I'm not sure because I was too drunk to remember my most recent visit.  From what I do remember the bar is kind of split up by a bar or railing, which is nice so that there's an area for those who are waiting to order a drink and then there are those that are hanging out around tables and what not.  It looked like there was a back area, but I'm not sure.  There may even be a dance area, but my friend was buying drinks for me so I have no idea of the specials or cost of drinks.  We did have a waitress come by where my friend ordered shots for us, and they seemed to have gotten to us pretty quickly.  It was a good time, so much so that I had to cut myself off.

Overall I have to give this place 3 star. The food is good. The drinks are good. And some of the specials they have throughout the week are great but sometimes it does get annoying when you have too many people in there. I use to go the $10 6-9 Friday special and it was great but sometimes it just gets to pack that you can't even have a conversation with the person right next to you. Besides that little issue I still go there and enjoy myself. It is at least a place worth checking out.

I love this place for the $10 all you can drink crappy watered down beer and all you can eat buffet on fridays. The downside is you have to have reflexes like a cat to get any pizza because when they put down the 2 at a time pizzas they are gone in an instant and you won't be seeing any more for another 30 minutes or longer. Im shaving a star off the 5 star list because I am an economic man and when I am encountered with the prospect of all you can drink it's a sad day for alcohol and most of the time my pride. I will get more than my money's worth just out of sheer frugality and this is akin to watching a car wreck come midnight. Good bar though.

I really like this bar, but I guess some reviewers don't. I am new to the Chicago area, and I live downtown. My roomie and I come to Lincoln Park, and unlike all the other bars that are crowded and have long lines, this bar is crowded but with very short lines. I always see good looking people in there--not gorgeous or anything. I get my drinks pretty fast (when I hafta pay). It is a little hard getting a table and I do guess it's a bit small. The bouncer is nice to me and my friends. On Thursdays there are dollar beers, BUT, don't pay with credit card unless you are going to order 10 beers ($10 minimum on credit card). Overall, we come to this bar because we know we can get in and the drink prices are not outrageous.

I generally dislike bars in Lincoln Park, but I had a great experience here over the weekend and so I had to give it a thumbs up.

Went in with some friends by chance twice this weekend and on one visit we split a 16" thin crust cheese pizza. It could have been the fact that we were starving, but this thing was awesome! The crust had a slight "doughy" taste to it, but paired with some ranch sauce for dipping it left us happy and full.

**Update** How could I have forgotten about the awesome Friday happy hours? All you can drink beer, heavily discounted mixed drinks, and a food buffet? This place solidly ranks 4 stars now.

I couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars, so its probably more like 3.5 (I rounded up - gave them the benefit of the doubt).  Yes, it is definitely a college crowd, but the drinks are pretty cheap, and if it gets to be too much, there are always the 20 other (mostly college) bars on the block.  I'm partial to going on gamedays, even during Bears playoffs we could get a table without being there way too early.  I say go for the games, otherwise its probably not worth it.  Food is ok, mostly standard bar fare and the menu is the same as Kelsey's and Kincade's.

I don't mind Kendalls.  It's definitely not my favorite bar on this section of Lincoln Ave. but it's better than John Barleycorn.  Buckets better.

On Friday night they have $10 all you can eat pizza and all you can drink watered-down cups-o-beer.  The pizza is OK, if you ever get a slice.  Seriously, it's a mad dash when those trays surface so sharpen your elbows.  And don't forget to tip the waitress because she (oh OK to be politically correct I will add  "or he" here but I have never seen a dude waiter at Kendalls) will NEVER come back to your table if you don't.

Im really not a fan of this place. The free pizza on fridays is nice, but it gets too crowded and people are rude. The food isn't nearly as good as Lion's Head or Kelseys. If you get a table, its not horrible. But there's no where to stand w/out getting pushed around by stupid drunk girls.
The tvs and screens are nice, but dont expect to get a good seat for those games if its friday or saturday night

5 stars for one reason and one reason only.  On Sundays during football season, this place is my home away from home.  I crawl into this cave like tavern and enter a world of Orange and Black, where Welcome to the Jungle can be heard blaring right before the start of both halves.  There is not a Bears game in sight (ok, maybe on one or two small TVs for the native workers), for this is CINCINNATI BENGALS country!

Considering how much I hate this neighborhood and most bars in it, 2 stars is saying a lot.

    Factors include:
    1) DePaul was probably on a semester break so it wasn't too "collegey." There were lots of older 20-somethings/early 30-somethings.
    2) I was there with old friends who I don't see often & they are fun to be around.
    3) Jim Bean Black drinks for 3 bucks.
    4) Big screen tvs to drown out all the idiots
    5) Jim Bean Black drinks for 3 bucks.

I feel this place is the lesser evil considering my friends could've dragged me to John Barleycorn.... *shakes head*

Decent place for a sports bar, though it is quite crowded with much of the DePaul Lincoln Park campus crowd.  Six front projection TVs and plenty of other flat screen TVs ensure that you will see whatever game you want.  Drinks won't break the bank.  However, pub food selection and quality leave much to be desired.

This is a good place to go if you want to watch some sports and have a beer and hang out with a bunch of college kids!  Maybe I'm just getting old, but it was crazy there the other night.  The line outside was ridiculous and the bar was packed inside.  Take your pick at any of the bars on Lincoln - there's nothing special about this place.

I feel bad complaining about this bar since I knew what I was getting myself into when I caught up with some friends at Kendalls last night. I used to love these sports bars on Lincoln Avenue (5 years ago), but now I'm not so fond of hanging out with a crowd of 22 yr olds. Last night was especially annoying since everyone there had been drinking since 10 am to celebrate St Patty's Day and March Madness.  The only good thing was that we did actually get a table since my friends had been drinking there all day long.
