Fion Wine & Spirits

We walked by Fion a lot on the way to the bus or on the way to get a burger at Duffy's and always said we'd try it out. One night (a Friday or Saturday, I can't remember) we finally did.

While the spot itself is rather small, meaning it can get crowded, it is a nice little place to go. The drinks we've had are always really good and well made. I can't stand gin, but have found a martini there that is made that I like with gin in it. My partner seems to really enjoy the Manhattan, which apparently a lot of people do. From what I've seen, they use fresh fruits in their drinks as well. The bartenders are always very nice and will chat with the customer and also explain each drink if necessary.

We don't go often but have not had a bad experience yet there. Its close to our apartment (a half a block away) so is convenient for us if we want to get away a bit without having to go too far.

Went here to have drinks after work and had already heard that they like to make drinks that are not on the menu.  It was my first time here and the place was empty, which worked for us since we wanted to chat.  The drinks were amazing, pretty reasonably priced considering what we had.  Bobby was the bartender; he asked what we liked and made amazing drinks accordingly. The place ultimately filled up by about 9 or so, if that is what you are looking for.
The only down-side was not knowing from the website that the kitchen was not currently open.  We were able to order from Duffy's next door, which was great since we were hungry and planned to at least nibble on something while there.

I will definitely be going back with other friends in the near future!

hmm. Not what I thought at all. There was construction going on outside and I walked past it, and then walked back to it. They had the door open, since the AC wasn't working. The bartender looked like he was melting, but I guess there was nothing one could do about it.

I went there for a date- the place is good for one, dimly lit to hide flaws and on the quiet side, even the music isn't that loud. The bartender wasn't pushy, he came over twice in 1.5 hours to check on us and our drinks, not super intrusive.

I had the Pimm's cup, it wasn't great sadly. Didn't taste like anything natural was in it, that it was made from a mix. I could taste the alcohol but not really the mix. Did that make sense? I just mean that it was rather bland.

Sadly, the next morning I had a headache from the drink. And that never happens to me, unless the alcohol is low grade/ I have drunk more than there is water in Lake Michigan. I don't think I will be heading to Fion more often.

Update: some of the other cocktails are way better. Get those instead.
