Galway Bay

I came here one night after hanging out with some Irish dudes at Galway Arms who needed another nightcap. This place is just funny to me and it makes me smile when I think of it. It's a dive and I love a good dive. It's got popcorn, which actually irritates me because I have misophonia and the sound of popcorn being eaten sometimes sends me into a rage, but the Guinness calms me down. It's a messy pour, but it's still Guinness in a basement, and who can resist that? I need to go back and play some video games, apparently. Just not next to anyone eating popcorn.

We came here after Duffy's. They have free popcorn which is a great score. It's definitely a casual place. The entrance is a little confusing because there's like 3 of them?

Definitely casual, maybe even a little dive-y?

I went to Galway Bay for the first time last night.  When I arrived the place was dead (as to be expected on a Monday night, really).  Nevertheless, the bartender was cheerful and personable. They actually had Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey Whiskey, which I adore and many bars don't carry it.

The atmosphere was definitely reflective of a basement bar.  They have $1.25 pool, which is a rarity to come by these days.  

I felt overdressed in jeans, boots and a casual top. Perhaps I should have thrown on a ratty sweatshirt?

And for the love of god, people! Help the poor bartender out and just let him play his ipod.  His music is fitting of the place.  Stop trying to make Macklemore happen.
