Happy to see Edzo's expanding to Lincoln Park. That said, I still prefer the Evanston location.

You see, this location only offers the thin, griddled burgers and not the thick, juicy char burgers of its North Shore sibling. To be fair, I did know this prior to my visit and it was fine because I was having an early dinner that evening and devouring a huge burger for lunch would've made no sense. But when I want to indulge in a burger, it generally has to be substantial and worth the calories--the kind that renders me so full that I need to take a nap after eating.

Edzo's burgers are all made to order and if you prefer a thin patty then you will enjoy it. Fries and milkshakes are always first-rate and well worth a trip on their own. I'm definitely going to have to go back and try the lobster fries.

I love what Eddie (Edzo) is trying to do here: offering standard Americana fare but emphasizing quality, locally-sourced ingredients that support nearby farmers. Obviously he takes great pride in the end result and his passion is evident.

Aside from the burgers, my other favorite thing to get here is an inside-out grilled cheese. It's got a crunchy layer of parmesan on the outside and melty, cheesy goodness on the inside. So if you're a vegetarian and you don't want a veggie burger or a portabella burger (which are also offered), then you must try the grilled cheese. It will knock your socks off.

Seating here is also more limited than the Evanston location; it's very tight quarters. The staff is unfailingly friendly but the hours are also cruelly limited. I'm hoping that will change.

    Well done, Edzo. Well done.

Smashed, griddled burgers are the best type of burgers. WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT?

I never made it to the Evanston location, but this one is just down the street and I'm happy to report the burgers are worthy of the millions of words written about them.  I was very pleasantly surprised by the fries -- I haven't always been the biggest fry person but the fries here are the best in Chicago (Buffalo and Taylor Street are the best).  Haven't tried the shakes since my typical order here is already probably 1500 calories, but maybe someday...

Walked in and immediately dug the vibe. I love the fact that the guy who took my order had a huge burger tattoo on his arm and asked "what kind of cheese?" rather than "do you want cheese?"

Got a single burger with grilled onions, shrooms, cheddar cheese, garlic butter and ketchup/mustard. Very good burger, probably could've done a double.

Asked the burger tattoo guy taking my order his favorite variation of their many fry combinations. He recommended the garlic fries, which were good not great. Solid fries, just didn't dig the garlic, especially since I got the garlic butter on the burger, bad move by me. Next time will definitely try a different type of fries.

Omar is the shake guy. He kills it. Had the banana shake, which I'm a sucker for, and really enjoyed it.

Small place with a couple counters and tables. I really like the vibe, extremely friendly staff and great burgers, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a great burger bar.
