I live nearby here and walk over once every few months when there's absolutely nothing else for me to eat at home. I've always been amazed at the lines and crowds and wonder to myself "Is it me? Isn't the food so bad that it's barely edible?" Yet, as always, the food is so bad and I leave thinking the same thing. Â I'm from the east coast and I'm not a foodie or a pizza snob, but maybe I got used to a standard of pizza. Lanesplitter's pizza isn't pizza. It's some dough cooked with a little tomato sauce and cheesed smudged on as an afterthought.
Review Source:3.5/5. Probably the biggest selling point of Lanesplitter (for me) is that it's open until midnight seven days a week. The pizza here is a great value, considering how much you get: For a little over $20, you can get a 19" pizza with a couple toppings.
The pizza is certainly not bad, but it's not great either: It's a bit soggy/oily and seems to bend under its own weight. In any other town this pie would be above average, but when you have the Cheeseboard, Emilia's, and Gioia minutes from your front door, there's really nothing special about this one.
Didn't actually go in as I bought a slice from their tent sale which was the temescal festival. At $3 a slice your choice of pepperoni or cheese its pretty massive slice let me tell you. They also had beers but it was pretty warm as I didn't want to get dehydrated early and faint on the kids ride section. As for what I can see I will be returning I've been hitting up places with mediocre pizzas lately time for a change.
