Tea Cakes

I've never been here like 3 out of the 4 reviewers. I just wanted to add that I live around the corner and have never felt compelled to go in for a drink but I also don't feel like I need to run past the place like a little scardy cat either.

You all give one or two stars but we too afraid to go in. Prejudice much?

Back in da day when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore.
But some days I set and wish I was a kid again.

Back in da day the girls and I always went to tea cakes for food and deep shots we could talk shit and hear what each  was saying. One drink was enough but some og or tender would buy us another shot then it would be time to showoff our fits we had on by bending over the pool table acting like we could play, Happy hours was always good  waiting for traffic to die down.  It was also the first bar all my grown kids went to when they turned 21years old. I just had a party there Saturday, June 25th 2011 and it was very nice, The crowd was 25 and up. I met a 85 year old lady from the neighborhood she brought her two granddaughters from LA  for drinks, Everybody  had such a good time, I got calls saying  "TEA CAKE" The owner of the club is so courteous and kind. I will always have a spot to kick it!     hatters stayed away...OLD-GEE

OMG! I have never been in this crAzY place but I know its pretty popular cuz folks are always spilling out the front door.

Tea Cakes is about a 3 minute walk from my boyfriends place. What I can tell you is as crAzY as it appears when you pass by at night I have not know anyone to have been shot in this place in the years I have known about Tea Cakes.

This place caters to an older crowd say about 40's and up. I have a friend who is about mid to late 50's who goes there a few times a month to get her drink on and talk sh- -. She likes the place, but then again it is her style of place.

Now I would say if hole in the wall bars are not your thing then don't go in there or any other hole in the wall bar.

Tea Cakes is always jammin some good music in the evenings I can tell you that much.

I'm not a drinker and definitely not a bar hopper but like any place be cautious and if you're gonna get in the game, baby make sure you got your game face on and the attitude to back it.

North Oakland aint nothing like East Oakland and the patrons of Tea Cakes love the place I'm sure cuz its packed every night of the week.

Now a place called Tea Cakes can only be in the little pink building that its in and of course you should expect to see big a- - dudes out front. They go hand in hand don't they, pink building and big boys?
