not even one star! Nasty food and customer service was horrible. The food was cold and the drink ware was dirty. When server was told that the food was not good, the server ask what's wrong with it. What's not wrong with half cooked pancakes, cold hash browns, a dirty drinking glass and under cooked sausage. Worst place ever, eat at your own risk!! Yuck!!!
Review Source:Here is another in a line of family style restaurants over in NW Indiana (Highland). Â Their menu is varied and they have a full line of breakfast and lunch type foods (only open basically for the two meals). Â I had not been here in a number of years but decided to give it a try today since I had my mom with me and we were looking for a place to eat.
The portions are huge and filling. Â I had a gypsy skillet (eggs, melted cheese, ham, onions, and peppers on a bed of potatoes. Â My mom had an everything omlet sans the cheese. Â She had toast with hers and I had pancakes which were huge. Â Definitely helped that the coffee was bottomless cup (and they even had Splenda upon request!) .
Definitely will come here again if the opportunity allows itself.
I have to caveat this review with the fact that I'm from Chicago. Â Les Bros is a great little breakfast joint minus the big city prices. Â Traditional diner feel, friendly service, easy seating even at a prime weekend brunch hour, and delicious (if predictable) breakfast fare. Â We stopped in hungover on a Sunday morning and left feeling full and happy.
Review Source:I am a HUGE fan of diners. In this area they usually equate to big portions, cheap eats, and a slight let down in the flavor department. That's to be expected, but this place was a disgrace. Although the restaurant had charm, i.e. the wait staff, warm atmosphere, and the fact it's located in the most adorable neighborhood ever... their lack of culinary prowess definitely can't be ignored. My meal was all to reminiscent of cafeteria food, which could have been my fault, because I order chicken tenders. (I figured since it was my first time there I'd keep it simple.) Â However, the following things should be noted.1) Chicken tenders should not taste like Tyson frozen chicken fingers. 2) Crinkle cut fries should be hot or at least salted, these were neither. 3) Iceberg lettuce? Really...?
I will give this place the benefit of the doubt because their breakfast did look appetizing. I hear that is what they are known for. So I think I'd give it another go just to try the breakfast. Hopefully, my next meal will be better than my first. If you want better lunch/dinner fare try Jedi's Garden...They have decent breakfast there but better lunch/dinner fare.
For my first time dining here I was impressed! The establishment isn't too large just cozy enough. Warm greeting when I walked in, and immediately seated. Wasn't long before the waitress arrived and ready to place my order. The food was not long before it was in front of my face with hot steam arising from the grits and eggs. The prices were fair, the location isn't too bad, could be a little better. They are hidden off Indianapolis Ave. I will definitely be back, and soon.
Review Source:I like Les Bros. Â We go for breakfast a lot. Â We are regulars and the staff know us. Â It is kind of cool. Â I love their pancakes and fresh orange juice. Â I really like the skillets and omelets. Â I have had basically everything on their menu and everything is good. Â Their rueban's kick butt! Â They are soooo good!
Review Source:Despite the assertions of Ms."I went away to college and nothing's good enough for me" this place isn't half bad.
They are very generous with their portions which wouldn't mean much (are you listening Sophia's?) normally, but they have a very nice breakfast. Â The eggs are perfectly cooked, the bacon is thick and crisp, and the hash browns are actually brown. Â Also, you can sub in hotcakes for your hash browns on any breakfast plate, which is pretty nice.
The waitresses are fast and friendly and they have fresh squeezed orange juice, unlike most places in the area which serve some form of concentrated junk.
Definitely go there for breakfast. Â Other than that, if you end up at a Greek breakfast place for lunch or dinner, you're getting what you deserve.
I have fond memories of coming to this restaurant with my grandmother as a child back when it was called Greek Island or Greek Isles or something. Â Not because the food was great, but because it was part of our routine and I miss my grandma.
I recently wound up here out of desperation since I didn't want fast food (or to be forced to eat at the nearby and equally mediocre Purple Steer), and it was okay. Â Pretty standard Greek diner fare, which as we all know is relatively crappy by definition. Â I ordered a sandwich that came with fries and soup, but the soup (Chicken Noodle) was so salty I couldn't possibly eat it. Â The sandwich (Turkey & Swiss Croissant) was predictably average. Â Likewise, the thick crinkle fries were lackluster.
However, the service was very good and the waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Â Of course, we were pretty much the only customers because it was about to close, as it was 4 p.m. and apparently that's when most places in Highland turn into pumpkins.
I was pleased to see that the new owners did not paint over the cheesy mural of the Greek islands, but was perplexed, to say the least, at the decision to smear the stucco moldings with paint the color of menstrual blood. Â Sorry for the visual, but seriously, why?
''On an early Sunday morn.''  well 11 am is early enough for me . Great service  Double yolk eggs , well you order two and you get four . the food was good  again how do you put hot food on warm plates the plates have to be hot . my hash browns were getting cold by the time i finished my second cup of coffee. the toast was medium hot. the butter did not seep in .yea it was fine the bacon was nice a portion on the thick cut side . No Irish cut that is for sure . for the money I might go back . I will not  brake my leg's running there  sorry Les .
