Absolutely delicious mandel bread! Libby & Laura make the best on the planet. Once you try it, you will be hooked forever! I grew up on my Bubbie's mandel bread, but since she lives far away this mandel bread makes me think of her. I also love how it's cut into bite size pieces... perfect to pop in your mouth for a quick sweet treat. Thanks Libby and Laura for creating a product that reminds me of my jewish roots and of course puts a smile on my face :-)
Review Source:I think I received a fluke batch or at least I hope I did. The texture is soft because they only bake it once, which is not how it is traditionally made. Â I love soft cookies, but after eating one of their cookies I felt kind of sick. My husband couldn't even finish half of a cookie. I know its a kosher product and they don't use butter so it'll be parve, but you can taste the canola oil. Â Also, i think they put a total of 5 chocolate chips into the whole batch I bought. Â Overall I found them very dense. Its a homemade recipe that's ok, but not something I would ever buy again.
Review Source:As a a rare Jew who has never liked mandel bread, I now see what I have been missing out on! Libby & Laura's mandel bread is sensational! Whether you're celebrating a Jewish holiday or not, Libby & Laura mandel bread is a perfect treat for any occasion and is guaranteed to satisfy the sweet cravings of any taste buds. It's a delicious delicacy created by great people. Go out and get yourself some and you'll see what I am talking about!
Review Source:This is by far the best mandel bread I have ever had. Its difficult to find high quality kosher and pareve items in Chicago. I already ordered some and sent it to my mom for Rosh Hashana, cause I loved the packaging. Â I'm glad I found this stuff at Garden Fresh Market, because Zelda's Mandel Bread is a pretty mediocre product. Â I wish they sold this stuff in the city.
Review Source:OOOOOOHHHH...this stuff is good! Â I've grown up on mandel bread and know the good stuff when I eat it. Â For those of you not in the know, mandel bread is a traditional Jewish cookie comparable to a biscotti, but a little softer. Â This recipe is absolutely perfect and they ship right to your door. Â Plus, they are cranking these little cookies out of Skokie, so you know that its the real deal. Â
These ladies keep it simple. Â They only make 3 flavors, but they do them well. Â I'm all for small businesses that absolutely perfect thier craft and don't have to offer you 31 flavors. Â My cute little package arrived and I had the Chocolate Chip, the Chocolate Almond Pecan and the White Chocolate Cranberry Pistachio. Â Yep...I got all 3. Â How could I not...at $9.99 a package. Â They are delcious, packaged adorably and I will certainly order in the near future and also share as gifts...especially around the holidays. Â
PS...for those of you who can't eat dairy, like myself, this recipe is Parve Kosher, which means that there is no dairy. Â Gotta love that!
Libby & Laura is headed up by my good friend Laura a smart, talented, beautiful businesswoman and baker. She and her mother make the most fabulous mandel bread which she has been generous in gifting to me on the holidays, my birthday and other special occasions. I was elated when she told me that her dream of someday starting this business with her mother, was going to become a reality. I have watched this concept grow and am in awe of its growing fan base.
Mandel bread, for anyone not familiar with the Jewish treat, is similar to an Italian biscotti, but is considerably softer. Laura & Libby's mandel bread is always soft and divinely delicious.
