Great mole sauce on enchilada platter. They have great pork tacos. The food is good and cheap.  There is no atmosphere but I would always come here for authentic Mexican versus a Taco Bell, chipotle, etc

The steak tacos are just are yummy as I remembered. They come on a corn tortilla with lettuce, tomato and cheese and I like adding the tasty salsa to them. The chips that come with the salsa aren't too greasy and have a perfect saltiness to them without being over-powering. The rice is great - simple without any veggies added but with a touch of spice. Finally, the guacamole is thick and has the right distribution of cilantro and onion with just a little tomato. I add some salt to it which makes it perfect. If this place was just a little closer to home it would be my #1 Mexican food stop.

I frickin love this place! Their food is always consistent and never disappoints. I usually get either their breaded steak Torta or any of the tacos and of course I always have to pick up some guac and chips:) I just wished they delivered. I'd order from them all the time!

Good food! Open late, not the best around but gets the job done if you want tacos late night. honestly people who give this place 5 stars clearly have NOT had awesome mexican food go to la campana or la taqueria if you want really good mexican food!!!!!

I've been here a handful of times and to their other located in Lombard/Villa Park area.

It's really solid late night food and they have huge burritos. There's not a whole lot to say other than it's better than the other Americanized Mexican restaurants around town.

I'd recommend coming here whenever you want a big burrito or looking for something to satisfy your late night craving.

Los Burritos Tapatios is a long standing Glen Ellyn institution. Sitting just slightly West of the corner of Roosevelt and Main street this eatery is open for breakfast and is open until 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM on weekends.

The inside of the restaurant has a handful of tables and a few booths along the front wall/window. When you walk in there is a menu posted behind the counter and a wide array of dishes to choose from.

I've been going here for at least the past 17 or so years and have tried almost every entree on the menu at some point. I recommend the Torta's and Burritos. If you're in the mood for breakfast the Huevos con Chrorizo is an excellent choice as well. While the way the food is prepared does change slightly depending on when you come in, the food is always good and always tasty.

As a bonus,  if you sit down and eat in the restaurant they free provide chips and salsa. Los Burritos Tapatios in Glen Ellyn is my favorite Mexican restaurant.

My family comes here all the time!  Our meal is always fresh and made exactly as we ordered it, even if we have special instructions.  The food is usually excellent but there have been a few times when various menu items were less flavorful than we are used to.  Aside from this very occasional inconsistency, I love this restaurant on days when I want a delicious dinner but don't have time to cook.

This is where my friends and I have been getting our late night fixes for the past 8 years!!! I have had the burritos, the quesadillas, tacos, tortes, fajitas, nachos and they are ALL delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The one thing I love about Los is that everything is made to order. The food tastes ultra fresh as it should.

Fast and efficient service even when it's 3 or 4 AM. I will be seeing you guys this weekend!

The burritos are the best around and the late hours are great as well, especially considering the rest of town shuts down at 9.

So it seems that not only are there different LBT's scattered every where, there are some that are better than others! This particular version of LBT is one of the better ones. Additionally, their setup makes it feel a tad bit cleaner too.

I've recently been on a roll with their carne asada burrito with only onions and cilantro - the only things that matter. None of that other punk-b!tch stuff is necessary. Its pretty good and reminds me of back home. I suggest trying it!

Also, I've noticed that though lengua is off the hook at almost any mexican joint, it's rather awesome at this LBT. Lengua anything! You are going to smile because that's what she said.

Los Burritos is a clean place to grab a quick bite of authentic Mexican food. This dive gets so much business -- from white collar mopes and greasy blue collar workers at lunch to the obnoxious Wheaton College kids and the equally-loud drunk teenagers at night.

It can be an eclectic bunch, which probably explains Los Burritos' need to include items like the authentically Mexican "french fries."

The food is solid, albeit slightly overpriced when compared to true Mexican restaurants in neighboring towns. You're guaranteed fast, attentive service and complementary chips and salsa if you dine in. The place is also usually very clean.

My favorite meal is a steak taco platter, which includes two tacos, rice and beans. I usually supplement this with one or two more Mexican-style tacos.

All-in-all, it's an okay place to grab some Mexican food if you're in town. However, if you're willing to drive a bit further, there are better alternatives (that serve alcohol to sweeten the pot).

Ah LBT, how I crave a giant steak burrito right now.

I've been coming to LBT, the Westmont location specifically, for about 5 years now. Their burritos are loaded and flavorful, and only 6.50 or so for one. They give you two choices of hot sauce like most Mexican places give you, authentic or not, and I really recommend the green one over the red one. Has more flavor and a little heat. I've never had anything but the giant burrito, but a buddy of mine says the suizo, a burrito with melted cheese on top, is great. Another buddy says the nachos are good as well.

LBT is not the place to go if you're looking for authenticity since it is Americanized, but it saved me lots of nights in high school after a little too much to drink. 5/5

*I find that their food is a lot tastier if you come at night. They're open late, until 2 am so it's great greasy food to sober you up. Try the horchata, it's pretty good.

I have been to this restaurant many times and it is excellent.  They have great Burrito's and Taco's.   Also, the rice water is definately worth trying!  They are open late so after a Bulls Game or Hawks Game its fun to stop in and grab some grub to go.  Highly recommend it.

Mmmmmm... thank you Yelp, you just made me think of what I want for dinner. There is a 'los taps' right by my office in DG, and I stop at this one periodically on my way home. The wait staff is always courteous and prompt, and the Enchiladas with mole are pretty good! Other than that, I could eat a torta from here ANY time.

It was great to see that this place hasn't changed since I was last there - 10 years ago! The service is fast and reliable. The food is authentic and affordable. The chips and salsa are free with dine-in orders. The salsa is homemade and my absolute favorite at Los Burritos. I ordered the beef tongue tacos for the first time and loved it. It was tender, had a strong beef flavor, and the texture reminded me of corned beef.

I work nearby and have been to LBT over a dozen times and it's finally time for a review.  It's too hard for me to pick just ONE favorite dish so I'll just offer three "can't miss" picks; al pastor tacos, steak burrito and carne asada tampiquena.  Come to think of it, the taco platter is a pretty darn good pick.  Awww, heck!   There isn't just one or a few dishes I like at Los Burritos Tapatios, I like 'em ALL!

    Here's what I else I like:
    1) They are very clean.
    2) The service is great.  Be sure to tip the server.  She's always bustling about serving meals or bringing you a basket of chips & salsa.
    3) Free chips & salsa!
    4) Family friendly without turning the place into a damn Playland.  Case in point:  A father and his 4-5 year-old daughter enjoying a fajita plate.  You could tell they were having a good time.  In the past, I've seen Moms and Dads with kids and everyone is enjoying themselves without turning the restaurant into a zoo.  Enough said.
    5) They are efficient.  Order your meal at the counter, sit down, enjoy your chips, soon your meal will arrive and you can be out of there in less than 30 minutes if you are on a tight schedule.

Los Burritos Tapatios is great for families, a business lunch or a quick lunch with a friend or co-worker.  Oh -- and the food is pretty darn good too.

Nothing I can say will fully express the feeling of longing I have for Los B's right now.

The burritos are a staple but nothing beats the balanced flavor combo of the wonderfully crafted taco. The perfect proportion of meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato on two white corn tortillas.

As for the filling for your burrito or taco, the steak is a great starting point. You can't really go wrong. However, the secret meat, is pork. The pork is seasoned with a chili sauce is just perfect.

I'm also a fan of the chips and salsa. The salsa is just spicy enough. One word of advice though. If you want more chips, ASK, DO NO TAKE MORE WITHOUT ASKING! I cannot stress this bit of advice enough. If you go up to the counter and take another basket, you will have the evil eye cast upon you. Los B's is not a good enemy to have. Also, leave a few dollars tip, they appreciate it and remember you.

At night, the place is packed. It's a place to see and been seen in Glen Ellyn's limited social community. Good energy, It's a good place, believe me. Take this religious pilgrimage to Los after a night of drinking, you won't be disappointed.

I can't say anything other than the fact that the speed, cleanliness and food quality are fantastic!!! Satisfied EVERY single time I go there. I am a big fresh avocado fan, NOT GUACAMOLE, and they are always very generous with it! :)

Los B's!!! I actually have been to the infamous Los B's in the last year. When did I arrive at this gem? After midnight of course! This is THE late night stop for the folks living in GE. When we were super bored and didn't have anything to do? Go to Los, eat, and linger in the parking lot for far too long because we had no where to go in suburbia. My go to? The torta...this mexican sandwich melts in your mouth and falls apart in your hands (as it should). If you're ever craving food late in the evening around Glen Ellyn, IL (not likely for most folks over 21), then hit this spot. I truly do miss it.

At this little taqueria, you place your order at the cash register, sit down, and within a few minutes a waitress brings your order out to you.  The food comes out very quickly, so if you're in a hurry, it's no problem.  It's impeccably clean - even by my high standards.  They are open well past midnight every day, and the food is very flavorful, hot and delicisious.

    Suggestions.:

    1.  Order a ground beef taco!!!  They are excellent!  The chef mixes in with the ground beef little chuncks of potato and carrot.  Very tasty!

    2.  Order the tacos al pastor (barbaque pork).  You won't be disappointed.

    3.  They will serve the tacos Mexican style (cilantro and onion only) or American style (lettuce, tomato, and cheese).  Just tell them your preference.

    4.  For an extra $0.25 they will add a couple slices of avacado to any taco.

    5.  If you dine in, the chips and salsa are free.  The chips are a solid B+ (but not quite an A), but the salsa is awesome!  A+++  Beware, it's a bit hot, but it doesn't have too much of a bite.

    6.  The steak used fof the steak tacos and burritos is your typical low quality skirt steak - tough and a bit grizzly.  I'm not a fan of those, but it that's your thing, you won't be disappointed.

    7.  The prices are very resaonable, so it won't break the bank.

    8.  It's not a great place for a date night, but it's perfect if your'e with the family, friends, or just by yourself.

    Bon Appetit!

Whenever I have a hankering for tacos I make a quick run to LBT. This place is always bustling but the service is pretty speedy. This is a no frills type of place and that is just fine by me.

The chips and salsa are pretty good. I've tried a tamale - it was OK and satisfied my craving. The al pastor tacos are so-so as are the beef....next time I'll probably go for the chicken. My favorite dish so far from this joint has been the caldo de camerones...that's shrimp soup for all you gringos out there. It's got some good spice to it and the shrimp were cooked just right.

LBT is extremely affordable so it's a big hit with the teenagers...fair warning! They also package your to-go order very nicely and include all the fixins one might need which I really appreciate it. LBT is also open late so you can get that taco fix into the wee hours of the night if need be!

LOS!!!!!!  I have been coming to this spot for years and although 99% of my visits come after the bars closed I have also come stone cold sober during the day to make sure the food wasn't only good drunk.

Grilled Steak Torta with Rice Water is my go to meal and it never fails.  You order from the counter but they bring the food to your table which is pretty sweet.  And you get complimentary free chips and salsa.

Nice place for a quick meal, and an even better cure for the late night munchies as they are open real late!

I eat here about twice a month--very close to home, open late, good food and nice, regular staff. This restaurant is very casual but they deliver food to your table with free chips/salsa. Be prepared for a lot of h.s. and college kids after 10pm. Big parking lot is a plus.  I always eat their soft ground beef tacos with cilantro, cheese, and lime--I'm never disappointed.

3 1/2 stars for me. My eating experiences have been positive as a whole. The burritos are actually good (better than most I've had) but as I ate it, I did notice something. The ingredients were all fresh & you can add onions at no additional cost (yes, I like onions in my burritos) but that wasn't my issue. I noticed that there was almost no beans in my burrito (normally, it's the opposite). I like a 60-80% meat to 20-40% beans and with things like fresh sour cream, onions, tomato, and lettuce, it make for a nice contradiction of texture. Add a little more beans. As for the meat, I stuck to the chicken burrito (just a preference). I think my issue with burritos is that I'm not a fan of chopped meat in a burrito. It did still taste decent but I'm more accustomed to pulled (but not shredded or chopped) chicken. If you want to step out a bit, get it with the melted cheese.

    Other bullet points:
    - decent tacos but not much meat.
    - chips & salsa are rock solid. Salsa & sauces do have some bite to them.
    - portions are very generous.
    - I'm a big fan of the enchiladas as well.
    - the staff are VERY NICE people.
    - not pretty but clean- just as what one would expect.

    It's worth a visit if you're close.

    Mucho amor por Los B's.

First off let me say anyone who thinks Taco Bell is better than this place ought to have their mouth confiscated because clearly you aren't using it properly.  Los Bs runs a quality restaurant with speed and deliciousness.

The burritos are huge and not able to be tackled in one sitting unless you want to see that burrito again in the very near future.  The chips and salsa aren't the best I've ever had but they do the trick.  The true beauty of the place is the fact they close at like 4am and open again at 6am.

I haven't had a bad meal from here and if you have to go and order in Spanish as part of a class homework assignment they will only laugh at you a little bit, they're very nice.

The Best Steak Burritos around!  Forget About It Chipotle, Baja Fresh, La Bamba...

It's very inexpensive, great service and fast!  My kids love it.  We have to keep asking for more baskets of tortilla chips.  The Tortilla Chip nazi is gone so it's a lot more fun!  This place is almost as good as Taco Burrito Palace in my old stomping grounds, Lincoln Park (DePaul).

I love good Mexican food. This place is pretty much the exact opposite of that.

I got a burrito and it was so bad that I couldn't even finish it. Bland, flavorless garbage to say the least.

Totally agree with others who said that the only reason people go to this place is because it's open all night.

Taco Bell, as bad as they are, is a much better option than this crap.

    The Plus +
    *Open till 2 am
*Burritoes much more authentic, filling than chipotle
    *Fresh salso *spicy!
*Usual choices tacos, tortas, burritoes, flauntas, also mexican ethnics like tongue
    *inexpensive
    *friendly service
    *big portions
*chicken and steak is delicious! the times i went have never been dry.

    Constructive Critisicms
*Guac is a little too watery for my taste
*Salso also too watery, maybe my preference has always been chunky
*too much beans in the burritos
*i dont like the packaging, i know its to save money, but when i order tacos, they wrap two at a time in foil, which is not easy eating.
    *wheres the crunchy tacos?
*quesadillas are flavorless (i think thats why they stuck them on the ala carte menu)

Overall a pretty good alternative if you are in the area to Taco bell or mcdonalds for a late night snack.  Lots of choices in their menus and a favorite for college students in the area.

I love this place!  It may not rank high on the attractiveness scale (it's kinda dingy plastic and very...umm... yellow... inside, but I love it anyway, and here's why:

    a)  It's open way past my bedtime, and as far as I know, past most of the bar closings in the Wheaton area (not saying much on either count, I guess, but whatever).  As another reviewer mentioned, you can get food there even in a snowstorm!

    b)  The burritos are roughly the size of my head.  They taste awesome and you can get them stuffed with delicious things like guacamole.

    c)  Speaking of delicious, if you're a weird foreigner like me (or just weird or just foreign), try the tongue / cilantro / onion tacos.  Awesomely delicious.  It's a tie between those and the tripe tacos served American style, in my book.  I usually get three tacos: one tongue, one tripe, and then one steak for good measure.  All are delicious.

    d)  You are regaled by the background sounds of the lovely Mexican telenovelas or futbol playing on the tv in the corner.

    e)  The chips and salsa are delicious, too.

I think the fact that the place is dingy might lead some to think it is unsanitary, but I've been eating at Los Burritos Tapatios (and bringing friends there) for the past ten years, and never once have I had any stomach issues.

The guy who seemingly owns the place is always very polite and prompt.  Tip him well; he's always working there.  Always.

This place rivals the burrito places I visited while I went to NIU (Burrito Loco, etc).  I'm so happy I found a suitable equivalent for my adult, non-college life!

chipotle/qdoba/baja fresh/el famous dont stack up to this place.

Very good greasy mexican food. inexpensive as well.

The reason why they are not a 5 star is not their fault, but the crowd here sometimes is obnoxious, high/drunk, and its annoying. Wish they could filter those out.

If in the area, checkout los burritos tapatios, and try not to go to late at night.

Funny thing about my review, I was reading this site last night just before my husband and I were going to run up to Tapatios and get our weekly late night dinner. I was kind of surprised at the cleanliness accusation by another reviewer. I am particular when it comes to that kind of stuff and never noticed any problems. In fact these guys always seem to be cleaning if they are not busy with customers. Last night proves my point as when we got there they had the grill pulled back from the wall and were (as always) cleaning.
As for the hand washing, whenever we have ordered, the cashier has passed our order to one of the other fellows preparing the food.

    Anyway....

Tapatios is a small place with yellow interior paint that makes it stand out clearly when you drive by. We always get takeout but they do have basic seating if you chose to eat in. Service is fast and friendly and there is a TV on in the corner that is usually tuned to a local hispanic channel. They have late hours (2am during the week, 3am on weekends) that end up being ideal if you are on a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule as we are. Weekend nights (during the winter) can get crowded with boisterous teen/college kids and sometimes they will have a security guard on hand to make sure everyone stays mellow.

We have sampled just about the entire menu and have yet to be disappointed. My favorites are the tamales and the tostadas. The salsa is just about the best I have had. Ingredients and condiments are always fresh. Prices are reasonable. Dinner for two overindulgers usually runs us under $20 :)

I would have given 4 stars but I'm not a big fan of crowds and will avoid going in on those nights. It's the only drawback about this place.

Simple, good, mexican eats at a fair price. Can't beat it :)

"I probably have at least 20 stellar high school memories of eating at Los B's at almost every hour of the day. Los B's used the be the spot for all the cool kids coming back from drinking at Lake Ellyn and for all the hot girls on their way back Zero Gravity, and for all the stoners on their way back from their car for another Taco Special. There aren't many places you can get amazing mexican food in the Midwest, and on top of it, at 2:00 a.m.

I remember when the price went up for a Taco Special, and how they apologized to the regulars like me who worked next door at the bank. They were never stingy with the guac and always brought you more salsa and piping hot chips when you ate-in.

I remember when I found out that there was more than 1 Los B's, and became even more devoted to the one on Main and Roosevelt.

And when I had to say goodbye and go off to college, I actually took a black & white picture of Los B's and gave a copy to my pals at the bank.

Ahh Los B's... I will always remember you."
