We love the Lost Coast Brewery.  Whenever we come up to Humboldt County to see our beloved Redwoods, we stop by this fabulous local brewery for food and beer.  I love the crisp, refreshing taste of the Great White.  My spouse prefers the darker stout, especially the kind they brew in the summer. The pub food is great-- we usually order their nachos with pulled pork (half an order is plenty of food) and "build your own pizza" and share, it just hits the spot.  The chicken wings and fish & chips are also tasty.  We simply love their food...and the prices are right, too.  Always crowded there--that's telling. The Lost Coast Brewery is a *must-stop* for all pub and beer lovers and for anyone visiting Humboldt!

I love Lost Coast beer.  So this was pretty much a must for me while I was staying in King Range.  Sad to say, it was a disappointing and unremarkable experience.  I was excited to get their raspberry ale on tap, but actually found it to be unremarkable.  I've never tried this particular beer (because its only sold in the big bottle) but I either didn't care for it or something was up with the tap.  Usually beer on tap tastes more robust and flavorful then watered down.  I regret not asking them to bring me a tangerine wheat instead.  The food sounds good, but it is rather bland and uninteresting.  I had a Navajo chicken sandwich - it was okay but I've eaten a lot of flatbread in my life and this was the worst I've had.  The sandwich itself lacked flavor.  The other diners I ate with shared similar sentiments about their meals.  The service was poor - the waitress brought us drinks, refilled them once (I noted that she didn't comeback after I didn't want another beer until it was time for the bill), and brought the bill without so much a smile or "thank you".
I think this would be a good happy hour spot to hang out at the bar and shoot pool  but don't bother with the food.  I hope the beer on tap doesn't always taste like that, btw.

On a road trip from LA to Seattle along the coast. Stopped in Lost Coast for dinner and beers. Great food, great atmosphere and over the top service.
    Thanks Jennifer. We'll be back.

Went here after July 4th celebration.  I got the burger (a little overcooked) was still ok. (they took it off the bill)  Wife got the Halibut and chips. OMG! the best fish-n-chips I've had in a while, maybe ever.  What can I say about the beer except "Its a brewery!"  If in Eureka, you gotta stop by.

I used to work a few blocks from this place and I love it!  They have an affordable happy hour and their food is decent, too.  I especially love the small batch beers that one can only get at this location.  I appreciated that I could take home a growler as well.  One of my faves.

    This place was a disappointment:
    - Beer - Two Stars
    - Atmosphere - Two Stars
    - Menu - Two Stars (didn't order food but menu did not look very good.)
    - Service - Four Stars (our server was overworked but pretty nice.)

Overall, I was disappointed in this place. My beau and I got flights of 10 beers and they were all pretty bad. They were either flavorless or tasted like artificially flavored syrup. I liked the Great White and the Pale Ale the best. The rest were bad.

The atmosphere was douchey, loud and dirty. I did not like the atmosphere at all. I would not return or recommend this place to anyone.

The Lost Coast brewery offers decent brewpub food.  We started with some chips and guacamole (which we really enjoyed), but the salsa was without flavor.  The kids had fish and chips, which were ok.

I love beer, and theirs is pretty good.  Overall, I'd say the food is about what you'd expect from a brewpub, and the beer's a little better than you'd expect.

Parking was super-easy.  I did get to fill a growler, which we got to enjoy later.

Would get two stars for food, but an extra star for beer and atmosphere.  The food was like they're phoning it in.  Roast beef sandwich had roast beef over done and leathery with the cheese not really melted, pizza is basic and bland, chicken sandwich nothing special.  Nothing ordered by my table was any better than "meh."  Next time I'm in town I'll probably go somewhere else.
Beer is very good and the atmosphere and crowd are great.  Please make better food!

The beer was really good, and the place was a fun and lively place to be in Eureka on a Sunday afternoon... and a lot of folks seemed to know that, since it was very busy.  I was happy with the place, but others in our group were not, because of the length of time our food took to arrive.  Relatively speaking, it appears that there are many areas in Eureka that are kind of blighted, so I was happy to find a spot that was not.

I had the beef stew. It was okay but needed more vegetables. My wife had half roast beef sandwich & chowder.  The beef was good--no gristle & the chowder was very good. I had the Downtown Brown & found it mild without a strong flavor.

I am not a brew pub fan, most only put their energy into making the beer and don't realy focus on the food.

Lost coast is an exception, our food was better than the beer. My fish tacos were some of the best I have ever had, and my wifes pasta dish was even better.
My beer the Downtown Brown was very good.

Took off one star because the service was not very good.

    Clam chowder - great
Stuffed pork chop - very good; Pulled pork sandwich - OK
Great white ale and Indian pale ale - all good.
Big dining area, but noisy. There are better places to go, but this place is popular with Yelpers.....

My wife and I love to stop here anytime we are traveling through.  Beer is always good and staff is friendly.   The lunch specials always seem to be a step above but we
love the crispy Knoxville sandwich I like to add cheese and bacon and the Baltic porter maybe my favorite beer of all time.

Great White was good 3.5 stars. Turkey Burger great 4 stars. Seasoned fries
With lemon pepper only since I am Vegan was great + 4 stars. Nachos (vegan style)
Poor 1 star because of poor quality/type chips they use. Server was a 3
Ok but not great, and she never noticed or said anything as to why I didn't eat nachos. Thought it might be a quality improvement conversation starter, but I guess that's why she got rated a 3.

If I lived here this would be my go to place to eat or bring other people here to enjoy. Their beer mostly the Tangerine is the best. I liked it so much I bought a 6 pack to take it home with me to share with friends. While there I got a vegi burger with added blue cheese and it was also very tasty and awesome. I sat at the bar, alone, and was not bothered by anyone and it was enjoyable. They even gave me a bar eatting helper tray thing. This is easy walking distance in downtown Eureka. I would definatly encourage anyone who is in town for a day or two to give this place a try for dinner. But be prepared that it can get a bit busy around dinner and on the weekends.

In general, everything was good, not spectacular, but good.  Beer was decent but not superior (I had the brown), food was good with good-sized portions, service was good.  A bit noisy on a Friday night, but not unreasonably so.  Worth a stop but not a pilgrimage.

This place really is disappointing. The beer is about the worst out of the local breweries. Six rivers, mad river, redwood curtain and eel river are all much better. Their beer tastes like its made for people who are just starting to drink beer not true beer connoisseurs ( sweet and light). I've been here about 4-5 times and everytime the food was so so. Not even that good by bar food standards. Only been that many times because of friends and gatherings. Eel river breweries food is hands down better and the brewery atmosphere with the outdoor seating makes it a slam dunk over Lost coast.

My boyfriend has been coming to this restaurant for 8 years. This is what he has to say: Great food and fantastic beer. The service can be good, but not always. The ambiance needs to be changed worse than a 3-day-old dirty diaper (especially grotesque figures!).

Came up to Eureka for a weekend vacation in Giant Redwoods... And this place was great!  Beer we had was delicious!  Try the Great White for a light beer or Downtown Brown is really good tasting dark.  The food was awesome as well, came here for a late night dinner and drinks.. The nachos are amazing and the jambalaya is one of the best tasting I have had! And this is 'bar' food!  I would happily come here again if I have the chance.

Oh, and get a growler of your favorite beer... pretty awesome! (and if you are visiting you can take it home as a souvenir!)

Had the burger which was amazing. Grass fed beef, juicy, great flavor. Girlfriend had the spinach salad which I tasted and was really good. We shared the calamari appetizer. Was bummed they were out of the crab. Wanted to try the gluten free bun.  Of course they have tasty beers, had the sampler which seemed like a deal for $12

Loved this stop! The food was great and the beer was tasty but the place was just too loud. Granted, we stopped in at eight thirty on a Friday night. I'd imagine if I lived in Eureka, this is the place I would go for a night out.

I tried the beer sampler and in case you didn't know, ten samples of beer is the equivalent of two and a half pints. The beer was good though. My favorite might have been the Tangerine Wheat, not only because of the cute picture of the Tangerine, but that it tastes so fruity it's like having dessert in a glass.

I'm an Oregon girl and I usually stick to my Oregon micro brews, but I might have to seek out some Lost Coast merchandise. It really was that good.

5 STARS for beer - bf had the Baltic Border and sang its praises. He loved it.

3 STARS for food - I had one fish taco and one tofu taco. it was tasty enough. bf had fish and chips. the fries were pretty yummy.  i ordered chocolate cake and it was sub average. it was dry, fake whipped cream, and tasted stale and frozen in spots. it sorta gave me my choco fix but in a shitty way.

3.5 STARS it was busy and it seemed like there was one staff for the entire place. I was peeved b/c the waitress said she would return after delivering a beer and did not return until maybe 5 patrons later.  Her assessments of the size of portions was off as well as her assessments of quality of food. but that is subjective.

Nice place, good food, thin beer. Nothing on Nitro. Ever. Beer has extremely low mouthfeel and high clarity (filtrarion?). Halibut fish and chips were good.

Love coming here with my friends and family. Always busy during all hours since it's the only brewery in town. Food is good. Not great, but good for a brewery. Beer is on point!!! If you're looking for a place to go for lunch or dinner and like it quiet, not a place for you.

We have eaten here three of the last four times we've driven through Eureka.  The food and service every time has been good.

The last time we were there, we had the half crab and a philly.

The crab was good and the salad that came with it was very good.  The total price was $10 and was an excellent value.

The philly had fresh ingredients and the beef was very good (the beef was marinated in DT Brown), but overall, the sandwich was just okay.  My wife enjoyed it more than I did.  I thought it had too much cheese and the roll that it was on had too much bread that took away from the enjoyment of the sandwich.

I can recommend the restaurant because of the quality and consistency of the food and the service.

This place is good, not extraordinary, but definitely good bar food. The specials are usually the best, be sure to check those out.
I love the beer, it's the best brewery in Humboldt. I drool at the thought of Great White and Downtown Brown.
I don't love the wait. Don't come here for lunch and expect to get in and out in an hour. If you want to relax and stay a while, and can get there right before the dinner rush so you get a table, then it's great!

Great local beer and pub food!!! The wings are some of the best i've had and the seasoned fries are amazing, and there is nothing like Lost Coast Beer on tap at the source!! My favorite entree is the Famous Hot Brown, but most of this menu is pretty solid.

Beware: They don't take reservations, so service is often slow (to say the least) at night... Recently put my name in at 7pm... Didn't get seated until 7:40, and didn't get our food until 9. No matter how much you like a place, it can be a little much to swallow so I recommend coming early or late...

    SALMONELLA POISONING!!!!!

Be careful here. My husband was diagnosed with a very bad case of Salmonella poisong here. Him and his buddy both ordered a burger and both were very sick within several hours. His friend got over his sickness on his own, my husband spent the last month very ill. The doctors took a long time to test him for it. After a VERY expensive urgent care bill, lab test bill and second doctors appt., it was diagnosed and he had to be put on some very toxic antibiotics to get rid of it. After discussing this with our friends and family, many of them had said they had gotten sick after eating there as well. We used to love coming here for the atmosphere and good beer but never again. At the very least, stay away from their burgers. Just putting the warning out. It would be so awful if a child got ill from their food.

Husband and I love the Great White beer.  When in town last weekend, we thought we would pay homage.

    Two words: never again.

Wait time:  too long - we had to feed the meter that is set for 100 mins.
Food: raises the burping meter - gross!
Service: borders on "not so great" to "it's a pub, deal with it".

Tried lunch here while in Eureka and had a great calamari sandwich. I was hoping for more beer centric offerings. What is it with making beer but not using to cook with?
Service was ok but nothing spectacular. Husband had a beer taster which he enjoyed. He couldn't really go crazy with beer since we were on the bike.
The place was packed and loud.

Our club was cruising around up north...about 20 riders in total. During a gas-up, the question was asked, what to do for lunch?  I'd eaten here a few years ago (pre-yelp), and suggested it.  No one had any other ideas, so off we went. We arrived, and while they were gearing down, I went in to give the waitress a heads up.  She asked how many, I said "20", she laughed.  I said "no, really". After a few seconds, her eyes got wide, and she went running off for the manager.

So kudos to LCB....with NO warning, early Saturday afternoon, packed place, they made room for us upstairs.   THAT's adaptive.

After our seating, they took drink orders, and we BS'd our way through the menu.  One thing caught my eye on the specials board - a habanero chicken sandwich...THIS I hadda try.  The rest of the gang ordered fish and chips, salads, or burgers.

We got our meals after a bit, and dug in.  Didn't hear a complaint from a soul.  I had a very minor complaint...if there was a hab in my chicken sandwich, it was VERY well disguised (admittedly, I was expecting this....serving habs in CA has pretty much dropped off the plate, given the likelihood of getting a complaint of a four alarm fire from the less initiated).

We wrapped up, and again another kudos - they were able to accommodate separate checks for the various group members....

So yeah, I scored points with the suggestion  - this is a great place to grab a drink, grab a burger, and kick back in a very old town saloon environment....and they have a ton of interesting shit on the walls for you to buy, on top of that.  Go.  Enjoy.

We'd been told by the local beer nerds that in the Northern California Coastal Beer Tour, we could probably skip Lost Coast, which we were already inclined to do since we can get their beer at home and, although some of it's reasonably tasty, have never thought it was out-of-this-world amazing. But when we found ourselves driving through Eureka & desperate for food, we figured what the hell. We'd stop in & have a quick bite, & see if they had anything we hadn't had before that wowed us.

There was only one beer we hadn't had (which wasn't that good), so it ended up being mostly a food stop. We ordered what we thought would be relatively quick prep sandwich type entrees (my boyfriend got a chicken sandwich & I ordered the French dip), but 45 minutes later were still sitting at the bar waiting on our food. They weren't busy and most of the servers & bartenders seemed to be hanging out chattng. Only once did a bartender check in with us.

"Did you guys need anything else to drink?"
"No, not now, we're just waiting for our food to show up."
    "So you don't need anything?"
"Just our food. Which we've been waiting forty minutes for."
    "So you're good with water."

    Facepalm.

When our food did arrive, it was cold. The bar tender set my plate down then immediately grabbed it back & took it back to the kitchen. "I have to fix something on this," she tossed back over her shoulder. Five minutes later I finally had a depressingly small, cold French dip sandwich sitting in front of me. The salads came out five minutes after that. Now running late, we wolfed down our underwhelming sandwiches & salads & got out of there.

The moral of the story: If you are desperate for food and/or beer of any kind & aren't in a rush, go ahead & stop in. If you're on the beer tour, or on a schedule, I'd skip it.

I was first introduced to Lost Coast through their "Downtown Brown" ale that I had first tried at a pub in the San Francisco Bay Area, and subsequently bought at local stores. A recent trip to Eureka gave me the opportunity to visit the brew pub, and try their eats besides other brews. I enjoyed a most refreshing, watermelon wheat seasonal brew so much, I had a 2nd! My lunch order consisted of a side green salad (very nice to see garbanzos as part of the ensemble) and a halibut & chips platter. Good seasoned fries, though surprisingly through means other than garlic or anything approaching that sort of kick. The batter on the halibut could stand a bit more flavor, but it did taste rather fresh; also was verging on the edge of being dry.

Glad to read online that this venue has taken to supporting the local LGBT community in supporting some events as a venue and in other ways, especially since the last gay bar in town closed down, to my knowledge as I write this.

I'm looking forward to my next visit to Lost Coast Brewery!

    This place

What can I say about this place other than BEER!!!!!! My cousin introduced me and my family to lost coast beer and now we love it. As for the beer it's all so good but as for the food I don't know because I did not have a meal, but I did have their soft stuffed pretzel and man it was soooooooo good.  It was a nice soft pretzel with a good cheese inside and a good dipping sauce.
For what I heard and saw I would comeback to get a meal here.
Overall.... Hell yes I would come back here.
Oh yeah I forgot to talk about the interior, it's amazing. A big spider that drops on you when you walk inside. It's a very good atmosphere here.

    Love this place! Go here!
Amazing beers, great service. We had the halibut sliders (awesome!) and a bowl of clam chowder (awesomer!) which easily fed my husband and I. The bartender was great and gave us some tips on nice local places to see and camp. This is the second time I've been here while driving the coast and loved it more the second time. They're very popular, so can be busy, so sit at the bar or come during the off hours. Their double IPA is fantastic as is their regular IPA and after having lived in Portland, OR for years, I feel very confident about giving their beers a high rating. This place is a must if you're in the area and love microbrews.
