Great Gatsby, Yelp Man! I am so glad that there is an awesome bar like this in Bayonne for younger people who don't want to fill their faces with Crap and Crap-Lite.

Draft micro-brews that change on a monthly whim. Hudson Pale Ale is a great choice (and locally brewed) and the Dogfish head Black 'n Blue is so good! (and like 10% by volume). And if you are not impressed with their selection of draft beers, simply look up to the ceiling and feast your eyes upon their vast array of bottled beer from all over the place; Rogue Dead Guy, Sierra (Seriously, don't stare blankly too long though or you'll just look silly).

Hardcore shows every Saturday night (not your younger nephews hardcore here either). But even if you don't want to listen to the music, there is a soundproof divider, so you can still vibe with the jukebox or whatever games are playing on the half dozen TVs here. Last but not least an private outdoor area where you can smoke and bring drinks and the like.

On the days that they are not playing live music in the rear stage area, there is a projector and large screen with a game or something on. Maybe we can pressure them into playing Venture Bros new season or old movies soon, lol.

Anyway I've only been here a few times but definitely going to change that. Their kitchen is being renovated now, but I've heard they have good food. For the time being, they have every delivery menu in town and don't mind if you order in.

I'm usually not the type of girl who goes to town bars. But this bar has completely blown me off. Very cheap alcoholic beverages and the theme of the bars seems so welcoming and it looks like a place where you want to relax. But also if you feels like dancing they also have a place in the back where you can dance as well. The only thing I noticed that sucked about it is the service. A lot of people complained about the service being too slow. I mean, I never really had the experience of them giving me a bad/slow service. So yeah definitely recommend you guys that this is one of the best bars in town.

Went there to see my friends band play. Great atmosphere, good stage. Nice to see a bar like that in the Bayonne area.  They had a smoker in the back but I didn't have a chance to try the food. I look forward to going again to give the menu a shot.

I just recently found out that a craft bar opened up in my "Old Man Budweiser Bar" hometown of Bayonne, and made a visit the other night.

Lot 13 is fairly new, and the influx of customers might solely be based on this fact, but...

After arriving somewhat early, around 7PM, I found only one empty seat.  I sat squarely between a small group of businessmen to my left, who, based on their conversation, were not all from Bayonne, and a (presumably) older married couple to my right.  The businessmen were enjoying pints of darkish beer, while the couple to my right were sipping cans of PBR.  I felt hopeful.  The rest of the seats at the bar were full, a mix of the typical Bayonne "old man Budweiser" crowd and the younger natives who have taken a liking to beers not often served by Bayonne bars.

I was greeted by the owner, who was speaking to the small group of businessmen, with a hearty "Hello," and immediately asked what I wanted by a good looking, short haired, pierced bartender, wearing a Thundercats tee.  I quickly glanced at the tap options, not noticing the chalk board beer menu to the left of bar, with somewhere between 10 and 14 draft selections, 6-10 can selections, and 15-20 bottle selections.  I ordered a beer from the tap closest to me, a Goose Island IPA.

The tap consisted of two Goose Islands, Allagash White, Dogfish Head 60, and another one or two decent crafts.  Guinness, Stella, and Miller High Life rounded out the choices, ranging in price from $2.50 to $6.00, accordingly.  The can and bottle options did include Budweiser and Coors Light, but $2.75 cans of PBR and a bevvy of craft brewed bottles littered the menu as well, including several Weyerbachers, some seasonal imports (Hofbrau Oktoberfest among them), and other flavorful favorites among beerheads.

The "Bayonne Budweiser" crowd eventually left as night fell, and several friends and friendlies bathed in plaid and tattoos showed up, as a bar like this might attract.  After the Budweiser chatter died down, it was easy to hear the indie and punk music from the owner's iPod pouring out of the speakers.

The brick and mortar of it all is very reminiscent of Maxwells in Hoboken, with a long bar, tables and chairs, window booths, all hovering over a checkered floor.  A spacious back room which includes a few more tables and chairs, a dartboard, and a pool table, make way to a decent sized stage in the rear.  To the left is an outdoor patio, where smokers can bring their drinks in the nice late Summer weather, and take a whiff of the burgers being flipped on the charcoal grill.

The food menu is light, as I suppose the kitchen situation is still being squared away, but grilled burgers and pulled pork are already being offered.  The staff is fairly new as well, I took the liberty of informing the young bartender who took over later in the night that pulling the handle all the way down was not only ok, it was preferred.  But they are all very friendly, and eager to make people happy, as this is the ONLY craft bar in Bayonne.

Many people have thought of or attempted to open a bar like this here, and from spending time in the places not only around downtown Jersey City and Brooklyn which many people want to compare this to, but other craft bars, brew pubs, breweries, and just about every other bar in Bayonne, I would really like to see this work.

I enjoyed my few hours there, and will definitely be back.  Soon.  I just hope the draft selection gets a little bit better.
