Great place. Love the deal $5 for a regular drink and a pizza ORRRRR a "low life" which is a shot of whisky, a miller highlife and a pizza for $5. I don't think you can get better than this.
Great atmosphere. Great prices. Great experience. Overall I will continue to keep coming here and I will continue to recommend this bar.
I really really liked this place. the pizza situation was cool and that pizza has to be the hardest working guy in the pizza biz so tip him well! the layout of the place is beautiful and there's a stage for live performances. there was no one playing when I was there but I do hope to go there again.
Review Source:I can't believe no one told me about this place sooner! The atmosphere was quaint for such a large place. Me and some friends stopped in on a busy Thursday afternoon. Our bartender was a tall guy with a beard (shawn was his name, I think?) who seemed to know most of the customers by name. He helped us choose a beer, kelso ipa for me, yum, and then told us we get a free pizza too!! what?! AMAZING! The beers were already cheaper than most other places in the neighborhood and when you include a pizza its just crazy, how do they make any money?! and the pizza is surprisingly good (it's not paulie gee's but what is) we spent a few hours here and stuffed ourselves with free pizza and cheap beer, it was great!
cheap beer, good music, friendly staff (not always a given in north brooklyn) and best of all FREE PIZZA!!!! I will definitely be back again and again
I love this place. It has a great neighborhood feel. Â I had low expectations when I went so that made it even better when everything turned out so well. Â We went because of the free pizza deal. We expected some sort of a catch or for the pizza to be horrid but, it just wasn't. The drinks were reasonably priced and the pizza was tasty. What more could you ask for?
Review Source:A pretty great neighborhood bar. Â Sure free pizza (or cheap pizza with toppings) but not-so-bad-yourself prices on various brews and liquors as well, but it's a little nicer than a dive and has a few different areas for you to hang out in. Â There's an upper area that looks out over the bar and is a little more secluded. Â A pool table tucked in the back and some seats by the bar make this a place I routinely visit when in the area.
$5 gets you a Yuengling and a pizza, there could be worse places to have as your 'let's grab a pint' kind of place.
I can't believe the free pizza here doesn't suck. I've been several times and still somehow can't accept that the pizza isn't bad and costs zero dollars. Lulu's features pretty good drafts, friendly staff, Buck Hunter, and billiards...but who cares about that when there is pizza that is free and really quite decent.
Couple realizations follow from this: Whatever the retail price for frozen pizza, it's too much. And those 99 cent pizza joints in midtown can all go to hell. Seriously, just fold up shop and go away. I would rather order the cheapest beer here, give it away to the first friendly face I saw, and have a nice fresh Lulu's pie than any of the above.
A free, freshly made pizza with every full priced drink order over $3. Toppings are $1 a piece. It's not the most gourmet pizza on the planet, but infinitely better than anything from a chain pizzeria and made just for you. Plus, the draft and cocktail selection here is widely varied and reasonably priced, about $5 a draft and $8 for a cocktail. It's a little insane when there is a band playing, so I don't recommend going then. Also, don't forget to tip the pizza maker - he's a really nice guy.
Review Source:Free pizza, chill atmosphere, decent draft beers, all around a bit random.
Coming here on a few weekend afternoons, Lulu's often has an International-ish crowd as the guide books have it listed as a "free pizza" place. Â But yes, you still need to tip.
Chill feel with a crappy floor and bathroom, Lulu's is not exactly high on ambiance but does have its own charm. Â Beer offerings are decent - on a recent visit Kelso IPA and a good Pumpkin were available at good prices.
But of course, if you come here it's often most for the free pizza. Â Buy a drink, get a ticket, walk over to the man at the ovens and ask for pizza. Â If you want toppings, buy em at the bar, $1 each. Â When you order your pizza, tip the guy too, often helps you not get forgotten when it gets busy.
The pizza is good, not huge, not enough to fill someone my size up with two, but as a snack for a big man it does the job quite admirably. Â Good bartenders and the aforementioned random crowd help make this a great location in Greenpoint and a cool neighborhood-type bar. Â Check it out if you're in the area.
Good time, cheap drinks and free pizza with every drink perfect mix in my book will be going back again soon. I loved the mexican car crash which is a margarita with a upside down corona in a cup. If your on a budget they have the low life lol which I found funny you will get a shot of whiskey and a miller light bottle for 5 dollars talk about getting trashed after a few of both lol
Review Source:Free pizza?? Are you kidding me?
Bf and I went here to hang out before going to a friend's birthday. Chalkboard sign indicated free pizza so shit...why in hell would you ever deny free food? Friendly bartenders, awesome beers, even better prices, cool decor, laid back atmosphere, nice lights, yummy unhealthy pizza....perfection.
So I walk in and there aren't any seats and I see a couple at a table with two extra stools and I'm all: "hey is anyone sitting here?" and this girl's all "uhh yea, we are"
Oh girrrrrl you sassy. But she let me take the damn stools and squeeze all up on the bar, which she happened to be tending. Drinks is $5, pizza is $0 and she was very attentive to my empty glass (and belly).
The pizza is actually really good. Seasoned and everything. The dough to sauce ratio  is a bit large for day to day consumption, but tis a wonderful trait for bar food.
I always wonder why this place isn't more packed on weekends.
What is not to love about Lulu's?
You can get dinner and a drink for $5, $10 if you tip generously. Â You get a free pizza with every drink order. A FREE PIZZA. Â That shit cray.
Only drawback is all the hipsters. Â But if you're in Greenpoint, at this point, you know you'll be dealing with hipsters at every single turn.
I love lulu's!!! Wow I stumbled into this bar after the 4th of July fireworks at the greenpoint pier. Really awesome vibe.
Not only were they playing the entire Tom petty greatest hits album, but they had pickle back shots, and free personal pizza pies with every pint. And they weren't dinky small pizzas, I'm talking about decently sized fresh delicious pizzas.
Blown away with the awesomeness of lulu's, and I am going back again very soon!
It says on the chaulk boards that the beer lines were cleaned like a month ago. Â Never saw that before...little bit of a yellow flag...and the beer ended up tasting a little off. Â Me thinks thee protests too much.
This place is fun though. Â And a very good deal. Â Love the free pizza with a drink!
This is our go-to bar in the neighborhood for a cheap draft beer and some good free pizza. Â It's very laid back and a little dive-y - in a good way. Â
But let me tell ya, the other day I went out on a limb and tried their apricot spritzer, and boy, was it gross. Â It tasted like something a 50-year old lady made from a Redbook recipe in 1967. Â
So...just skip the cocktails and stick with a beer or traditional mixed drinks - and of course, don't forget to get your ticket for a free pizza!
Typical bar without being so typical. They offer free pizza with each drink you order. The pizza is baked fresh to order. Takes about 10 mins  for an additional charge you can get toppings. The concept is essentially the same as crocodile or alligator lounge. The drinks are reasonably priced and there is a decent selection.
The actual space is a cool set up. Enter and there is the bar and some private seating areas. Go up and there is a pool table. Then they have a balcony area and another section. Went on a Saturday late night and it was not so busy. Good place to go for drinks and free pizza.
The only thing is be ready for potentially questionable characters. Saw one of the ppl working there popping pills. I'm not judging just warning so that night one suffers culture shock.
As I live right near alligator lounge, I was skeptical to try a different free pizza place but Lulu's is 100 times nicer, and although not a "destination bar," its a must go if you live in the area.
Inexpensive beers (all around $5) and drink specials ($8 dark and stormy, yes please!) Bartenders are really sweet and you get a free pizza with every drink!
The bar has ample tables in a variety of seating areas, including a cute balcony with lanterns, and plants. I appreciated the high ceilings and abundance of light compared to alligator lounge, which always seems like a beer-stained cave. .
I haven't found the buck hunter yet, but I will definitely be back for a beer, pizza and a game. Like every week!
Last stop on last Sunday's Fodyssey. Here are a couple of crucial notes about this place:
-Beers - they have them!
-Big Buck Hunter - it's a reality...
-Pizzas - go grab one! They're free with a drink.
Really out of walking range for me, what with Alligator lounge closer, but I doff my cap at you, Lulu's, for the pleasant time had and the multiple pizzas scarfed in your uniquely multi-level establishment.
When drinking in NorthernBrooklyn Lulu's is my favorite place to end the night. The music is good, the patrons are cheerful, and the kicker is they give you a free cheese pizza with every drink purchase. You can add topping for a dollar each.
The pizzas are fantastic and are sure to put a smile on anyone's face after drinking for an evening.
I recommend pepperoni and fresh garlic.
High Life and a shot for $5, free pizza, and football on the weekends. Â Super nice bartenders. Â Good crowd that respects a girl who just wants to watch the damn game and drink the champagne of beers without interupption.
They do have crazy loud bands sometimes, which is not my favorite thing in the world... but I'm basically a crochety alcoholic grandpa 98% of the time, so take that with a grain of salt and a couple dried prunes.
5-Stars because after 6pm, you get a free personal pizza with your purchase of full price booze. And it's not expensive booze nor is it crappy pizza! It's kind of a dive so a good place for a cheap date!
let me explain:
1 - This is the hipster part of brooklyn, not THE REAL Brooklyn where you'd be afraid to walk down the street if you were from out of town. So it's a safe neighborhood to get drunk in, has beer other than Budweiser, AND you get a 10in Personal Pizza with each drink!
2 - It's good pizza! that means it has tangy tomato sauce. I'm a pizzeria pizza kind of guy. I like plain pizza by the slice and if I need a topping, it's usually pepperoni or mushroom. I don't like multiple toppings because I want my vomit to taste the same coming up as it did going down. That sometimes happens after a night of binge drinking and pizza eating.
I guess if you're the type that wants toppings  on your pizza it's $1 per topping. (I don't encourage people to be like me but just remember what I said about the vomit.)
If you don't like Lulu's, good! Less people means more for me.
I've been to Lulu's many times, but seeing as I have recently been there twice in 3 days, I think I owe a review now. Even if this place didn't have free pizza, I would still go because of the great beer selection and the fact that pretty much all the drafts are $5, even fancy seasonal stuff and other beers like six point which will run you $6 and up most places. They even have a $4 yuengling draft. I also want to make a point of saying that since this place turned from another Alligator outpost into the new Lulu's the pizza has gone up a pretty serious notch, in overall quality and in the selection of toppings (which cost extra, but hey, like a dollar).
One could argue there are other bars that win out for ambience/vibe, but that said, it was the nicest place I could have possibly imagined the other night after walking 15 mins or so in 30something degree weather. Toasty, high-ceilinged, lights winking. OH! And great-sounding sound system which is SO nice, and bartenders with good music taste. I'm kicking up a star just for the dude tending bar the other night who was playing the entire Thermals discography.
In closing, you should really consider going here.
Passed midnight, you're in Greenpoint, you wanna continue to drink but suddenly, hunger strikes! What do you do? you head over to Lulu's!
What I really like about Lulu's is there's always open seats and tables available whenever I come. Pitcher of beer, some pizza, that's all I need to enjoy myself here on a late night. Parking isn't too difficult in this area and the train station is just a block or two away.
Lulu's is fairly clean and nicely set up. I really like the space in here. i honestly don't come here enough.
I get a call from my friend, who had just left the bar we were at 10 minutes ago, and he says, "We have a private room at a bar down the street." If I were a teenager, I would have texted back WTF? Gr8! B thr in2. I am not a teenager and hate texting acronyms so instead I said to myself, "What the fuck? How is there a private room bar in Greenpoint and if there is, why would I want to go there?" Of course, it was past midnight and alcohol was soaking through my body by the second so I left and went down the street to find said private room.
My brain envisioned on the way over : poppin' bottles, models, a doorman who looks at me strangely because I have on shorts but lets me in because we were on the list, P Diddy, loud music...and then I got to Lulu's. Now I would never overtly hate on a bar that gives you a free pizza every time you order a drink, but my expectations were quite skewed and impaired at the time. Wait, did you just hear me? They GIVE YOU A FREE PIZZA WITH EACH DRINK.
The private room was actually this random, circular semi-private cove right at the front of the place. P Diddy was not there, Cristal was not flowing, but there were like four pizzas on the table and beer. Depending on how you value things and at what time you are valuing them, Lulu's is a potential Godsend.
I can't rundown ambiance, crowd, really much of anything other than they have beer and drinks and THEY GIVE YOU FREE PIZZA WITH EACH DRINK and it tastes pretty decent, especially after midnight.
