I felt like I was followed around and that I was surveillanced by the workers.  They would pass by the aisles I would be at....

The limited (vegetable) produce looked really gross and wilted.

Bought some Kenko Mayonnaise (competitor of Kewpie mayo, I think?) for $3.99 since I've always wanted to try kewpie/kenko mayo... And it was waaay cheaper than H-Mart ($6.99) and another oriental market ($5.99).

    That's pretty much all.

    yeah I'm a fan!

if you are paranoid of food items made in China thats sold at H-Mart, this place offers lot of alternatives.  Most of the Assi brand is made in Korea.  however, check the labels for origin and expiration date.

the meat counter offers great price on bulgogi and shabu shabu.

if you pass the freezer cases, you will notice a small shop at the back selling prepared foods (gimbap and soondae, chapchae, etc) and right next to it is a gift shop.

next to the cashier is the honey bakery that sells fresh bread made daily and hourly.  most of the items are $1 and i encourage others to try them out.  they taste real good.  not as sweet as the pastries we find at King Soopers.

its family owned business and both the owners and employees are very friendly.  If you cant find an item, just ask.

Its like..  you can spend hours looking for something at Homedepot or just walk right in to Ace and get it.

I dropped into this little market on the way to H-mart. It's clean and organized but just lacks many stuff. It's mostly Korean groceries. I was looking for fermented black bean sauce and they didn't carry it. It's next to a bunch of Korean restaurants.

I was surprised to find this market. I have to be honest, and say that I was originally looking for the famous H Mart. M Mart looks a little guetto, but it is a reasonable market and at least they've got all the essentials (except tooth paste, apparently). It is rather reminiscent of rural Korean cities

I will probably be coming back again when I don't wanna drive to H Mart.

M Mart Grocery does not live up to American grocery standards.  The fresh veggies are directly inside the front door and I saw bundles of fresh produce, ready to be displayed, laying right on the floor.  Don't expect cleanliness, just a good selections of Korean essential and even the hard to find.
The people who work there are not used to blond haired, blue eyed, tall white girls coming in asking a lot of questions.  They looked as me as if I were from planet  Norway.  None of them could speak enough English to answer my simple questions about a specific food item.  Fortunately I found a Korean customer who spoke English quite well and she answered my questions fully.  I found exactly what I needed and left satisfied, and full to the brim with Korean culture.

This review is actually on the restaurant right inside this supermarket called "M Mart", another Korean supermarket. It is a very small family business, with the usual smell of Kimichi when you open the door. However if you could survive that, this is actually a good place for a quick bite.

"Yo Ge Jiang" is good, it is a spicy beef soup with lots of vegetables, eggs. The beef was cut into very thin (think of "toothpicks") slices. Squid is good too. If you're really daring, try the potato and pork neck bone soup, dressed with sesame leaves. (Only once i saw a white guy apparently married to a Korean woman was eating that...sucking bones.. :-)

If it is too spicy, drink lots of shoju (liquor) or water...............
