I bought a Groupon and took my 6 year old son for dinner.  It was noisy, so much so that my son complained about it.  We were there 25 minutes before the noise level subsided enough that we were able to hear the jukebox.  I had no idea one was playing.

I ordered fish and chips and the portions were generous.  Wait staff was ok but our waitress smelled of cigarettes, not her clothes, but her breath.

    That's a definite no no.

Ok, Well I went here for St Patricks Day, so not sure what it's like on a normal weekend or day. I liked the place a lot. It was fun. The food was good. The only complaint I had was the food was served on paper plates (I guess they don't trust drunk irish people) and when my sister ordered and irish coffee it had no whip cream etc. She asked about it and the waitress said "we don't do that on st patricks Day", oookaay.. I mean an irish coffee comes usually it a cute clear cup with whip cream etc, this just came in a regular coffee cup... So I will have to go back and try it on just  a regualr day

It is an Irish pub so vegetarians should only come to drink.

Great place to eat bar food and drink.

Every time I go I have a blast.

The bar is filled with regulars that know each others names and weren't to hospitable.  The staff is quick and the drinks are moderately priced, I never really got a great deal here.  The one main reason I gave this place 3 stars was for it's WINGS!  The Guinness wings are absolutely amazing and on Wednesday nights you can get a free order with a $10 pitcher of beer!

This place COULD be great...came here by chance with a double deal coupon. The wait staff was ok. This was a Thursday night so not busy. The food is the only way I give this 3 stars...onion soup is great!  It is so dark in here I could sit in the parking lot and still have more light...I really want to like this place, but on a double take,,,,,no.

Never ate here except for the wings. Whenever I come here my beer choice is an easy one either a Guiness or a Harp. Most of the time I just compromise and order a Half & Half (Harp topped off with a Guiness) it's delicious! I used to hang upstairs (too loud) but as I have matured in age I tend to prefer the 1st floor. Always a good time @ Maggie's, many memories and drunken nights with good friends.

If your going on the weekend there maybe a cover for a band. All in all a good Irish Pub!

Maggie o's.... Cool bar with lots of potential, unfortunately I'm 3 for 3 for negative experiences. First time, numerous craft beers on draft which I would love, unfortunately drafts weren't  available because the cooler was down. Second time, our waitress wasn't informative , and food wasn't very good. Third time was tonight. Tried to order 2 different craft beers which were no longer available. Our food runner was much more polite and enjoyable then our actual server, at times almost like she was mocking us. Good thing we ordered a second round of drinks when we were halfway full, because our servers appearances were the bare minimum !! Third times a charm.... For me to never go back.

Went in had a chicken cheesteak with fries, my dc had the roast turkey and mashed potatoes. The cheesesteak and fries were good and not over greasy. I didnt taste the turkey but the mashed potatoes were really good, tasted like the real thing. Service was fast and the waitress very nice.

The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I asked for no salt on food and it was salted anyway. I never send food back so I ate it and it was good, just to much salt for my taste.

I love this place! The food is great. I get something new every time I go and I have yet to be let down. The beer selection is excellent. The have a wide selection of craft beers which are always being swapped out, which is great for the variety and those that love multiple beers. Finally the service, it is always spot on. They are friendly and knowledgable, which are two key aspects I love.

I highly recommend this place to anyone.

    THE GOOD:
-Food is very tasty and lots of it is actually authentic Irish cuisine (I'm a snob about places tacking "Irish pub" on the end of their name and doing absolutely nothing else to go along with the theme)
-They have Irish bacon (almost like ham), which is delicious and goes well on a burger
-Relatively cheap; good for smallish groups
    -Can be fun late-night
-They can pour a pint of Guinness the CORRECT way (and some of the bartenders can even draw a shamrock in the foam--AWESOME.)

    THE BAD:
-The food used to be better when the old owners were running it
-If you're local, you'll see at least 5 people you know here. If they're people you don't particularly want to small-talk with, then that will put a damper on the meal.

Overall, it's still the place I go when I want to go out casually with friends or take my Irish friends to when they visit.

Went here with my son after a baseball game, I thought , the food must be decent, we just wanted some appetizers. We ended up getting chicken nachos. They were the worst i have eaten. Looked like my 8 year old son made them. What a disgrace. Basically chips from grocery store with melted cheese and crappy salsa, olives and other crap on top including big chunks of flavorless chicken. We also got cheesesteak eggrolls, again they were inedible, disgusting. I usually never write this bad of review, BUT, this place sucks! I am sure its good for drinking, but stay away from the food!

at a comedy show right now and waiting for management to throw out the dumb, loud girl who has no respect for the comedians and the people who spent money to see them.

Went here once with my husband. We are new to the area and wanted a quick bite to eat and a few drinks. We sat down and ordered a drink. They brought over the menu and it was immediately apparent we weren't staying for dinner. There was not a SINGLE vegetarian option on the ENTIRE menu. I think the special for the night was deep dish cheese pizza, but who goes to an Irish pub for pseudo Chicago-style pizza. Certainly not a vegetarian from Chicago.

Cleaner, better food and service when it was Cavanaugh's Saloon. Of course, 10,000 flies CAN'T be wrong..

Went here last night with friends before we went to theater in Media, PA. Yes, it's a noisy bar/restaurant and was very busy with sports fans watching football playoffs . For pub grub we all thought it was decent. First we ordered loaded french fries which we thought were really good (not just because we were ALL starving!) - and then we ordered sandwiches. My order was incorrect, but when the bill arrived they didn't charge me for the Irish cheddar cheese. One friend had a sampler, one had hot chicken fingers, one had corned beef on rye and I ordered grilled chicken breast sandwich "Irish" style (which was suppose to be some kind of Irish Cheddar cheese). Sounded good, but, I didn't get to try it. For a busy place, service was fairly quick and we made it to the Media Theater for our 7pm show!

Maggie O'Neill's is an Irish Pub.  What a surprise!  A sizable bar with lots of dark wood is the centerpiece of the first floor.  There is also restaurant seating on this floor but be warned, it can get noisy.  There is a downstairs dining room that is much quieter.  If you are visiting just for dinner ask to be seated there.

The menu is lots of bar food mixed with Irish classics and a few American staples thrown in for good measure.  You can get everything from bangers and mash to prime rib to a chef's salad.  The food is just fine with portions that are competitive.

If you enjoy a pub scene Maggie's is definitely worth a try.

I haven't eaten at Maggie O'Neill's. But oh boy have I been to the bar, and let me tell you, it is a hilarious place. The first time I went, I was finishing a cigarette outside and a man well into his fifties walked up and asked me if I had ever licked a vagina with Pop Rocks in my mouth.

If you are a lady, you can get well drinks and draft beers for ONE CENT on Friday nights from 11-1. That is 1.01 a drink, if you aren't one of those assholes that don't tip. That is ample time to get absolutely shit-faced. The only thing you have to put up with is the meatheads. The drinks are actually pretty weak, so your best bet is to go with beer. Beer snobs will be pretty disappointed here.

Maggie O'Neills is a very cool Irish Pub in Drexel. At a friends recommendation we stopped in here for a few pints last Thursday night before heading into the city for a concert. We ended up staying for dinner.

There was ample seating so we ponied up the wooden bar and ordered our beers. I know this may sound silly but damn it's nice to be in a place that knows how to pour a Guinness.

The menu is large, varied and competitively priced. There are plenty of traditional Irish meals such as Bangers and Mash all the way to regional favorites like the Cheesesteak. Since I was visiting the area, I went with the Cheeseteak.

The kitchen in my opinion was a little slow, especially since the restaurant wasn't crowded. However when the food did come out it was delicious and the serving size was generous. Picture enclosed.

I'm really looking forward to returning here on a future trip to the area. Check them out!

Great food!  Great service!  Nice place to have dinner or hang out with your friends late at night.  They sometimes have a DJ, Live Music and Karaoke.  You need to check to find out the nights.  They have special events going on just about everyday.  It can get very crowded if there is something going on.

This is a great local pub, and the food is awesome.  Since it IS a pub, you want to come early if you're looking to eat without the din of music or lunatic sports fans.  They also seem to have a lot of events, so again, if you just want to eat then check first to make sure nothing is going on.  Their crab cakes are so good it's hard to make yourself order anything else on the menu...they are all crab.  Their fish 'n chips is always great as well - there are real filets in there.  The beer selection is exactly as it should be for an Irish pub, and it's a great place to bring out of town family or parents...but again, make sure it's a good night!

My four star rating would be a 6 star rating from another reviewer.  To give Maggie's 4 stars is a lot for me because I don't want to like it there!
This bar is about a mile from where I grew up and thus dubbed a "townie" bar.  I don't like to go places where I am likely to see 5 or more people I know or went to high school with.
BUT - the food is really good here!  It's bar food: sandwiches, wings, some Irish food mixed in - but it's really good bar food.  They also have a downstairs dining room that is great if you are there with your parents or with people that actually want to hear what you are saying.
Not a bad showing for Drexel Hill...

WOW - picked this restaurant based on previous Yelp reviews, and we weren't dissapointed.  Our server, who has only been here 5 years, grew up in Ireland and was friendly, efficient and very good at what she does.

We had the stuffed pretzels for an appetizer - yummy with that honey mustard dip.  We asked about the prime rib - it was a Tuesday night and didn't want last nights leftovers.  We were assured it is cooked fresh every night.  It was delicious!!

One of the guests at our table suffers from Celiac disease and cannot eat anything that has flour/wheat.  The kitchen was eager to help him choose things he could eat and even make up anything they could to make his dinner special.  We really appreciated it.

The prices are very reasonable - the decor takes you to a simpler, friendlier time.  The new law in PA that bans smoking was a welcome benefit since it is a relatively small restaurant and I can imagine that it would be very hard to offer a non-smoking section.

We were in the area for a special occasion - but will make the 1+ hour drive again to experience this find again!!

Not only is the bar awesome, with a plethora of Irish and other good beers available, but the food is definitely worth coming by early.  Shepherd's pie is a must try and although I wouldn't get a cheesesteak from an Irish bar, my husband swears it's actually pretty good.

This was a happy hour spot for us.  We went here once when we just wanted to hang out at a bar.  The staff was super friendly and kept giving us great suggestions for drinks (I'm a mixed drink girl).  My hubby had a few different beers and liked them all.  We only had appetizers, but they too were good - for bar food.

This is a great friendly place to go for a good time with friends after work.
