Mary's

I'll come back because the interior was decorated as glittery and tacky as the cross dressers that occasionally come in here, but the bartender was about as worthless as a used condom, and for GOOD LAWDS SAKE y'all need a sound engineer, my ears are STILL ringing!

This was my first time at Mary's and it was awesome! My partner and I were only in town for a night and decided to go. While it wasn't really popping off, it was a Wednesday, the venue is super cute, vibe was chill, the music videos were great, the drinks were cheap and the bartender was fantastic! Bernadette was our bartender and she was so super nice.  She even gave us info on what to go check out next since  I wanted to see as much of Atlanta as possible. Bernadette introduced us to our first pocket rocket which provided a plethora of information of gay bars all over Atlanta.
Later in the evening we met Bill who I believe owns Mary's and holy hell was he funny. Great atmosphere, great music, great people... what more do you need!!?!? We can't wait to make another trip back to go to Mary's!!!

I'm all about a good time.  This is a neighborhood establishment in my area.  HOWEVER, there is this angry rude bi-polar LESBIAN bartender there that will dampen your experience.  I met her ex roommate and she told me how she made her cry.

Keep in mind that Mary's caters to the gay male community, not the lesbians.  So why would they put an extremely militant angry Lesbian bartender behind the bar that hates men and has anger management issues?  I hope she is fired.

What ever happened to the days where a gay guy could go to an establishment where they could be free and have drinks and get drunk?  We have been oppressed enough.  Drinking alcohol is alot less severe of what most gays in the party scene (and the bar) are smoking.  The angry lesbian bartender started berating me personally when I was drinking and called the police.

She started yelling to the crowd, "Call the police!"  The audience applauded and cheered from the pseudo Broadway performance - at my expense.  She actually felt validation from her performance and fed off of it.  I bowed and ran off.  While I don't care, this can be embarrassing to an everyday Yelp Joe.

Unbeknownst to her, I had a taxi take me home.  I do have class and a plan.  I'm not a bartender...I have traveled and am intelligent.

I COULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR BEING DRUNK IN PUBLIC BECAUSE OF THIS MAN HATING PSYCHO!  ITS NOT WORTH GOING HERE FOR A GOOD TIME.  NOBODY WANTS TO BE ARRESTED.

Mary's is not fun.  It is super crowded and you are bumping into one another.

I HATE ANGRY LESBIANS.  They should be excluded from male gay bars.
