I wish there was a negative star.
This could be a cool spot, but it fails miserably on every level. I think I went the same night as another review here, and paid $10 to see the same band that never played.
The band was supposed to be first, but I arrived to see an amazing jazz trio. I didn't mind at all.
I go to order a drink...and being a bar manager, I quickly realize the girl has clearly never mixed a drink before that night. How do you screw up a Sailor Jerry and ginger? For starters, by not having ginger ale. She tried to improvise unsuccessfully and she was nice so I tipped well anyway....
Sound check for what ended up being the second band was dreadful. Never seen such a circus.
Work quickly spread through the crowd that they double booked promoters, and no bands were getting paid.
Our friends decided not to play such an unprofessional venue, so they started moving out equipment. They came back to find the club telling them they couldn't come back in to get the rest...but that didn't last long.
I never ordered a second drink....couldn't think of anything she couldn't screw up.
After finding the door guy and asking for a refund, he said the promoter had it, but he didn't know who that was. After being pointed to the manager, we asked him and were turned down. I didn't hear my friend's convo with him so I don't know exactly it was put.
We gladly left and headed for Midway, and never to return to the Asylum.
