    REVIEW UPDATE:
My husband and I came back to one of our favorite restaurants. We decided to both order something different other than steak. We both got the lamb. I ordered mine medium and he ordered his medium well.  We got our dinners and his was medium rare! The waitor said that must be mine but my dinner was cooked to medium. They brought his dinner back and we had to wait a long time for his dinner to come out that we ended up sharing mine. When we finally got his dinner, they apologized but I couldn't believe they didnt even offer even a free dessert for the inconvenience. We were obviously sharing my dinner because they had to take his dinner back and it was taking so long. We were very disappointed. We've been coming here for years. We will still be back but were shocked they were so cheap not to offer something small to us for such an inconvenience. Steaks are still phenomenal and are always cooked perfectly BUT NOT the lamb.

I give a 2 star because they were still friendly. I'll update back to a 5 star if we get the same service and dinner quality the next time we're there.

    Previous review-
This place has great food and excellent service. Bone in rib eye is always delicious as well as the lobster mash potatoes. Our waiter was very friendly and funny and his assistant also provided us with excellent service.

If you want one of the best steaks, if not the best steak in town, this is the place.

The only "con" I would say is that even on a week night it is very loud and crowded. The upstairs dining area has TVs on the sports channel so I wouldn't say it's the most romantic ambience. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, try reserving a table in the down stairs area, though I'm not sure if it's always open to the public.

Otherwise, Mastro's is my husband and my go to for a great steak and service.

The only thing that could have made my meal at Mastro's better was if someone else was paying for it.  BUT, with food that good, I ALMOST didn't mind having to stop off at the Gold Guys afterwards (I sure will miss that tooth).

Mastro's steak is so well prepared, it literally melts in your mouth.  A steakhouse like this is an education for the palate, forcing you to unlearn all that the Sizzler has tried to teach you about steak.  Sorry Sizzler, but when steak is this good, you DON'T need A-1 sauce.  When steak is this tender, you DON'T need a steak knife as the blunt side of your fork will suffice.

Mastro's even gets the little things right.  For example, onion rings.  Never before have I experienced this much 'Onion Ring Integrity', where the first bite doesn't compromise the entire structure, leaving the whole onion slice hanging out of your mouth while its former fried batter home, is still lodged in your hand.  No my friends; at Mastro's each bite somehow contained both onion and batter.  If their onion ring know-how is so sound, imagine what the rest of their menu must be like.

Now if only Mastro's can learn how to prepare Malibu Chicken...

As good as it gets! When making a reservation, request to sit upstairs! And if let them know if you're celebrating a birthday.

The bread basket is amazing, especially the pretzel bread (yum!). I always get the New York Strip medium rare, very juicy and perfectly seasoned. For sides I'd recommend the lobster mashed potatoes, creamed corn and creamed spinach. For dessert, I like getting the seasonal berries, but you MUST MUST MUST get the Warm Butter Cake, you will not regret it!
