Maxwell's Tavern

Just a typical dive bar with a few pool tables and bad kareoke.

I agreed with the older reviews here. That said, I stopped in for lunch a few times over the last two weeks and Maxwell's has improved. I sampled the hot wings (my primary food group) and they were prepared perfectly. One recommendation would be to create a spicier sauce for the insane like me. Later, I tried the smother pork chop special. Hands-down the best I've ever had. The chef cooked the chops to perfection, then smothers both of 'em with sweet apples. Excellent.
    This is one of those places where you get original recipes prepared 'just like Momma used to'. One letdown was the side salad, that, although portioned well, was prepared with iceberg only. I'd recommend a change to mixed greens on that.
    The servers and bartenders are very personable and respectful. I'll write more reviews as I sample more of the menu. I have not stopped in to Maxwell's Tavern during supper hours, only early afternoon.
    Recommended for lunch.

Horrible, not worth writing about little alone visiting again.
