Very cool bar with 100 beers on tap. When ordering flights, look up at the wall behind the bar. There is a whole list of beers with helpful recommendations.

I know some of the previous reviews complain about the price. For an out of towner, that stumbled upon this bar, it was actually a pleasant surprise with reasonable prices.

At The Mayor of Old Town beer drinking has never been more fun! Here they consistently change out their supply of over one hundred beers on tap. You'll find a huge variety of local beers and some of the very unique hard to find ones as well. What makes this place special is the ability to order "flights" of beers with this huge selection allowing you to take notes of the ones you like and directly compare.

Though you won't always find all of your favorites on tap you're bound to find a few more you didn't even know existed! EXCELLENT place for fresh food (tasty appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, etc.) too as the kitchen is split level below the main floor bar and creates their awesome complimenting flavors. One level up a few stairs will take you to a great overall view. And the downtown FC trolley travels just out the front door which adds to the experience. Ask about the beer drinking 'Gary Busey Club' that meets here regularly. Limited parking on street with a 3-4 spaces only behind the building.

If you love 1) Beer 2) Mad Men 3) Cheap breakfast drinks (who doesn't like a stiff drink on a Sunday morning, am I right?) 4) live music, 5) good scotch and 6) awesome, without being pretentious, wait staff, then this is a great place to swing by in Old Town FOCO.

I've been here multiple times and the employees have been wonderful. The beer selection is extremely extensive with prices similar to others around town.

I follow a lot of business and bars on Facebook and this is one of my favorites. If you haven't "liked" them yet, give it a shot. They are constantly posting fun pics from customers and employees, as well as on the spot specials (ie: cheaper drinks because it's a bartenders last day, or discounts due to snow).

I believe they are going to be starting "Geeks who drink" if you're into trivia as well.

Mayor? I don't even knowor...

A nice addition to Fort Collins, amazing beer selection. I am not in love with the atmosphere on the weekends because it is loud and busy but I am really glad it is in town. The food is pretty good too, sandwiches and salads (pizza too), so it is a change from greasy bar food.

The Mayor, where to begin, the Mayor has the best rotating selection of beers foreign, domestic, and extremely local. They are always changing out any of the 100 taps that they have on the wall, with only the best in what beer companies have to offer. They are one of the only places in the greater area that is number one on many lists to receive special beers, beers that only come around once a year. Follow them on Facebook and twitter, they are always changing the line up, and making it better and better. There is simply no other place like this around, and they are only spreading the word of the beer fiends and making it stronger. A huge thank you to Kevin, Barb, Michelle and Nick. Keep things just the way they are.

I think the Mayor is a great addition to the Fort Collins scene - the number of taps is amazing! The bartenders and servers are knowledgeable about all the beers and make great recommendations. I love Sunday mornings, the Bloody Marys are spectacular, the best I've tasted, and the jazz is a smooth way to start our day. I'm partial to their pizzas, breakfast is ok. it's always an adventure going to the Mayor, I love to see what new brews they have on tap!

This is a fantastic place to go for beer. They have a great variety of craft beers...over 100 on tap. They carry many of the smaller, local breweries brews, as well as several speciality New Belgium beers. They offer samples of anything on tap, so it allows you the opportunity to find a beer you like. However, the food at this restaurant is an after thought, and a false advertisement of the promise on their website of "delicious food". We recently went on a Thursday night; there was 6 total in our party. We were the only table sitting at the balcony section above the kitchen. I don't know if that contributed to our poor service, but it took an hour...Yes, an HOUR, to get our food from the time we ordered it. Ridiculous. We asked our server several times how much longer on our food, and each time she seemed annoyed that we were asking. Regardless, an hour is too long, and it is even more so ridiculous after we received our food and saw how little effort it could have taken to make. Two of our friends ordered salads, and were happy with them for the most part. One of them mentioned the spinach salad was a bit small, and they were both astonished that it took an hour to get salads. My hubby and I shared a nacho appetizer. The toppings were good, as was the avocado cream on top, but it was severely lacking in the cheese department. The worst thing we ate was the pizza. Two at our table ordered the buffalo chicken, one ordered cheese, and one ordered the Mayor, which is pepperoni and sausage. The toppings were ok, but nothing great. For the price, the portions are very small and over priced. The dough is clearly not homemade and the toppings were skimpy. Definitely not worth $18 for a large pizza, much less $13 for a small. Actually two of our dining companions were a father and toddler. He ordered two pizzas for the two of them, and ended up spending $50 on his tab. He ordered the toddler a small cheese pizza and himself a large, the server never offered suggestions to him on the pizza sizes or prices. He was shocked when he received the bill, especially for the quality. By the end of the evening, our waitress came over and put a plate of cookies in front of us and said she was sorry for the long wait for our food and walked off. Unbeknownst to us, the cookies had nuts in them. Two diners at our table couldn't eat them. We appreciated her thought, but in the end it wasn't very thoughtful because they were inedible. It would have been nice to offer money off our bill, or have the manager come over and talk to us. She seems brash and nonchalant. I certainly would recommend this place for a good beer selection of local breweries, but I wouldn't order food here again. It isn't worth the money. It would have been 5 stars for beer, but poor service and food brought this down to 3 stars, and I was very tempted to just give it two stars.

Well, 100 craft brews on tap. Need I say more? Interested in food? They have that too.... This is close to CSU around the corner from the bookstore and B&B Pickle Barrel, simply the best sandwich joint within 400 miles. Grab a sandwich at B&B, grab the suds at The Mayor.

Their beer selection is absolutely phenomenal, and it changes throughout the year. I'm a fan of darker beers, so I tend to stick to the higher numbers on the menu (especially the ones at the very end that are nitrogenized).

Come on a Friday from 3-5 and they'll walk around with gourmet pizzas which you are welcome to partake in as long as you order a beer. These aren't just cheese and pepperoni either. I had a spicy hawaiian, a sun dried tomato with goat cheese one, and a really good BBQ pizza. They had live music too, which was nice. The only downside is how crowded it can get on weekend nights.

Also, they have an app, check it out!

Wow!

So much fantastic beer all in one place.

Best adive that i have if you go here with friends is to go with the Flight option on the beers so that you can have a sample of all the tasty goodness. An even better idea is if you and your friends are willing to share their flights so that you all can savour and enjoy all the tasty beer goodness.

The food is actually above average for beer food, and worth going here just for that.

This place used to be delicious until they changed their menu recently after disassociating with The Red Table. It went from being the best pizza in town to the absolute WORST. It literally tastes like cardboard. Other menu items have also taken a turn for the worse. We had unimpressive sandwiches and lack luster salads. We also ordered the nachos which consisted of a few chips, a couple of black beans, green onions, all topped with cheese and appeared to have been MICROWAVED for $8. Service is still good and they still have an impressive beer selection. The jalapeno cream cheese pretzel is still amazing. Unfortunately, we will no longer be returning to dine as we've had two terrible dining experiences.

You can't argue with 100 beers on tap and surprisingly good bar food. The hot pretzels (one has a cheese & jalepeno filling) are super good and the sandwhiches are legit.

The atmosphere is a bit "too cool for school", but whatever. People get a little too dressed up for what really is just a bar in Fort Collins, but again, whatever. I'd recommend this place for any casual get together if you just want to nibble on some food and enjoy some beers you never new were out there.

As most of the other reviews probably indicate, this place has a great beer selection with about 100 to choose from on tap on any given day. Beers are also rotated through regularly so even if you frequent this place a couple times a week there is likely always something new to try.

In addition to the great beer they also have great pizza and sandwiches. They are currently revising their menu and hopefully it wil retain the BLT with avocado!

The staff is both knowledgable and easy on the eyes (bonus). There is not a full bar but they do offer bloody marys on Sundays. Cheers!

Pro tip: Ask for tasters of stuff you haven't heard of. They aren't shy about handing those out and they have some crazy stuff on tap.

100 beers on tap. Yup. That's all you need to know about the Mayor. Well, ok, the lively atmosphere also helps. Service was great. Food was so-so. I had the baked potato as my entree which was a large Idaho spud, split open and topped with ham, bacon and cheese. It looked great, but the potato was undercooked and not mushy. The clam chowder, on the other hand, was delicious. The variety of beer was great since you can skip visits to breweries, especially ones without food.

Went in for lunch a couple weeks back and I absolutely loved the Rueben. A great selection and knowledge of the beers on tap. I suggest if you haven't been yet,try it out! It's a pretty unique place with a good atmosphere. I am gonna have to try it out to see what the crowd is at night but I was definitely impressed.

Excellent breakfast food, but the service is terrible!! Every time I've gone to The Mayor the server doesn't smile, barely talks to the table and just looks miserable. It would be one thing if it was just a one time occurrence, but it seems no one is happy to work there.

I like a place that has a nice selection of beers AND know to serve those beers in the perfect shaped glass to maximize your beer drinking experience.

Decent outdoor patio space (I'm curious about the mini house with the porch, but forgot to ask) and really nice indoor space as well. While the service was pretty good and our waitress did a decent job of recommending beers, it was a touch on the slow side and we kept having food delivered to us that we didn't order. Also, the music playlist was quite odd. We were hopping from meditation themed instrumental sounds to indie rock to retro tunes.

The menu is a bit odd. I expected more appetizers and more pub-style food options, so the abundance of breakfast-themed items threw me for a loop. My dining companion and I shared a garden salad and I appreciate that they split it for us even though we didn't ask. They also didn't balk when we asked for three different salad dressings on the side. The salad was pretty tasty, but it's your standard chef-salad-type of mix with mixed greens, shredded cheese, and tons o' croutons. The quarter size Greek pizza was pretty tasty, albeit a touch on the salty side (maybe that's on purpose to increase beer sales). I tend to prefer a thinner, NY-style crust, so wasn't a huge fan. But if you like a slightly doughier crust, you'll be okay here.

Shared garden salad, shared quarter pizza, two beers: $28 and change plus tip. Five stars for beer (selection, temperature, glass) but minus stars for food and service.

We were visiting from california for a wedding and stopped in for dinner. salads were tasty and even though it took a few minutes the pizzas were SO good. the amazing beer selection was great - and the waitress really knew her stuff and was able to point us in the right direction. plus, major props for having dice games on the table to keep us occupied. :)

Pretty awesome interior and an even nicer patio. Amazing selection of draft beers including Gubna on tap, which is just plain dangerous. You can get table service from anywhere including outside, which I liked a lot. It seemed like there was adequate seating even on a somewhat busy Saturday night. Cool bathrooms. Attentive and friendly service. A little on the expensive side, but one could argue you are paying a bit more for such a nice atmosphere.

Beer and Red Table food? Whats not to like! Great, and I mean great selection of beers on tap. Anything you could think of asking for, they have it. The bar tender told us that they have almost 100 beers on tap. That is crazy! The food was so great, had a little pizza and then realized that its the same food they serve at Red Table Cafe. Confirmed it with the hostess girl. The atmosphere is great, everyone was having fun and even their employees seemed happy. Great place.

We went here for the first time and while I am not in love with this place, i am a fan and I will definitely be back.

As probably every review that you have read has said, their beer list is incredibly large and expansive for draft beers. They are sorted light to dark, which is great for some, not so great for others. Tough to see if they have a specific beer that you are looking for.

While the number of beers on tap is extraordinary, the beers themselves are solid, but not a tons of rare beers. Their tap selection kind of reminded me of a big liquor store that had a bunch of great beers available by six pack, but not a great rare bomber selection. With that in mind, the true gem of this place is their bottle selection. While it is not huge, they have some great beers by the bottle, and their bottle pricing is amazing.

We didn't have a ton of their food, and what we did have we had mixed feelings on. We ordered the cheese tray at first, but apparently that was discontinued, but still on the menu. We instead went with the nachos, which were fantastic and covered in green chili. We also got a pizza, which was very boring and pedantic. It was square and seemed and tasted like a frozen pizza. It was edible, but far from great. We got a side of green chili, and put it on the pizza, which made it better. Their green chili was fantastic.

The final thing was the service, our server was a ton of fun and helpful. She was training another who was also a positive addition to our night.

On a whole, we enjoyed our selves, and will be back.

I still hate the menu display, that beers are very loosely organized by "style", that prices are not listed. To save yourself a headache before you even start drinking, ask for a paper menu.

The tall tables are a nightmare of spilled beer and shoving when it is is busy, head for the sides or best yet, upstairs in the back.

Service was decent, food was generous portions from Red Table.

Ambiance has been improved a bit, or maybe it was just that the lights were dimmed and it was full of people this time...like a bar should be.

Seriously, you really have to care about 100 beers a lot to bother with this place.
There are so many less-crowded, more fun crowd places where you can get the same beers. No one is going to drink all 100 in a night. Also they added Schlitz on tap, so you can see where the place is headed...

An excellent place to go to to get a nice cold beer! The Mayor has beer from breweries from all over the state and then some. The beer menu is constantly changing so you really have to keep going back over and over because nothing stays the same as to what they have on tap.
They have a good meal menu. I ordered a pizza here which was tasty and easily could handle three hungry men at the dinner table (well mostly).
My only criticism is that the prices on the beer, depending what you order can be steep if not somewhat head scratching but with about 100 different beers in one location you should probably be prepared to shell out a little more.
This place is run by the same people that have the Red Table Cafe in Oldtown and sure enough The Mayor has a red table where diners can sit to signify that.

I met up here with a friend fairly soon after I'd moved to Fort Collins. Talk about a beer selection!! These guys had what seemed like a football field of barspace lined with taps! My eyes immediately spotted the Stone Vertical Epic 11/11/11. Stone is my favorite brewery, and any bar that carries their excellent brews automatically earns points...but any bar that carries any of their one-shot, seasonal, "when it's gone it's gone for good" brews shoots up to the top for me.

I didn't have any food there, so I can't speak for that, but I plan on visiting again sometime soon and will definitely sample what they have to offer in that department. If you're in Ft. Collins, and want to try something besides one of the local breweries, The Mayor of Old Town comes highly recommended!

There is no shortage of great places to drink great beer here in Fort Collins. We're the "Napa Valley" of craft beer with award winning breweries on every side of town, and more still in the works. With the craft beer boom that we've experienced over the last couple of years, it comes as no surprise that we've witnessed an explosion of multi-tap bars and restaurants to coincide with the abundance of gold elixir.

With so many places to choose from, what's going to make one multi-tap bar stand out from the others? The food. The Mayor Of Old Town has everything going for them - a funky unique atmosphere, an incredible selection of beers flowing through 100 taps, and a partnership with Red Table Cafe serving some decent food to go along with it all.

I really like The Mayor Of Old Town; it's a fun place to explore different craft beers. They have a unique urban style, an impressive tap line up, and some delectable things to eat while you're enjoying it all. Competition for multi-tap bars is about to get fierce in Fort Collins - there are more on the way. The Mayor Of Old Town doesn't have much to worry about though; they have what it takes to stand out from the rest.

Mayor of Old Town is a new kid in Ft. Collins with a great perception of what a casual beer and dining experience should look like. This place is a craft/hard to get/limited supply beer lover's haven. Their menu is simple and fresh: flatbread pizzas, a few salads, breakfast burritos served all the time and of course... BEER. Instead of a crusty, liquid spotted menu for their beers, they project their current selections on the wall above all the tap handles. Shee-shee-la-la projection + zen'ish white marble-like bartop = awesome look.

We stayed in FoCo for the Boise State/CSU game a few weekends ago and had a great time at Mayor. Our bartender was not only a good looking female, she also knew how to handle her snooty beer patrons (aka my husband). She knew her stuff, and it impressed him thoroughly!

We shared a Greek salad, a full (plenty of pizza for two, that's fo sho)margherita flatbread, and like, 7 different cool beers. Next time we visit Ft. Collins, we will definitely be back to hang.

A good beer bar in a booming beer town - it just makes sense. The Mayor does it, and does it pretty damn well.

Wait Staff - KUDOS TO YOU! You know your beers, give advice and great recommendations. Folks, if you go into a bar with a hundred beers on tap and order something you've had before (or god forbid, Bud Light), you're better off at the Chili's on South College.

Red Table - It's a match made in indie-restaurant heaven. The pizzas are awesome and sandwiches are huge enough to share. It would be great to see some seasonal changes or even a couple specials in the menu every once in a while. I love my Mayor pizza I always get, but would like to see a mix up or something new.

I'll admit, like many of the other Yelpers, when I saw the bar for the first time it was like they took a snapshot of my "Craft Beer Perfect World" mental picture and threw four walls and a roof at it. Then I saw Bud, and PBR on tap. As a beer geek I was bummed, and as a beer snob I was pissed. I just kept thinking "3 tier, 3 tier, bastards..." over and over in my head.

Mister Mayor - I'm looking forward to hitting a comedy night and more business lunches to come. When the boss is buying lunch, the first round is free.

Quite enjoyable!

I love that this place opens at 8AM! We bellied up to the bar at 930ish on a Saturday morning and were promptly greeted and served some badly needed ice water. There is a large beer list projected above the taps, and a paper version with a menu that was handed to us.

Mike was tending bar and was very knowledgeable and fun! All the beers were delicious, and I would love to go back for more. I would prefer if there was an option to choose your own flight, here they serve according to type. I got the autumn ambers & my bro got the wheats. Each was introduced with a description of the beer & the brewery - how awesome is that? Plus he gave us a list so we would remember which was which.

We also ordered a bacon burrito that was tasty & came with a little side of fruit - all presented very nicely.

If you are not a beer nerd or if you are a college kid out for a big bang for your buck, you won't love this place. They do have a full bar and a large menu and they are kid friendly. I do recommend going during the day as we got to hog all the attention from the bartender and there was no wait whatsoever. Plus, I believe they close at midnight - so beware if you are looking for a late night drink.

The design is modern and spacious and the bar is long and swoopy. There is an exciting energy in here that hints at the amazingness to come. Ideas on sampling and tastings were being thrown around and I talked this place up for the remainder of the weekend.

It is a little pricey, the food was pretty good, and as I said - I would've liked to get a crazy combo of contradicting flavors in my 4 selection flight, but all in all this place will be calling my name again sometime in the future!

I was so disappointed with The Mayor, but not surprised. In short; the service is TERRIBLE, the food is good, the beers are good but you'll get more value ordering a flight rather than a pint.

THE LONG:

As a visitor in town, friend mentioned we might visit The Mayor but warned me of bad service she and friends had experienced on separate occasions. However, the concept of the place had me intrigued so I wanted to try it out.

The Mayor of Old Town is a bar focusing mostly on beer but with some wine and liquor selections, too. I loved the idea of having a ton of beers on tap (reminded me of my visit to Blue Palms in Hollywood: http://www.yelp.com/biz/…). They are also partnered with Red Table Cafe for food offerings.

As soon as we were seated, a server came over with water because she knew my friend. She informed us that someone else would actually be serving us, but wanted to come over and say hi. Apparently she didn't tell our server that, because no one waited on us for a good ten minutes after that. Finally our server came over and apologized for the wait, saying she didn't know she had our table.

We asked her for a paper menu of the beers because we couldn't see all of them on the wall from where we were sitting. We actually had to ask her for this menu twice because she kept forgetting. We tried a couple of beers and then saw that another table was having what looked like a beer flight. Only once we asked our server about it did she mention that was an option. Would have been nice to know from the start since a pint of beer runs $4 and up, way more than at most other places in town.

Beer flights: For $8 you can choose to have a beer flight from any category (ie, Wheats, Pilsners, etc). You can choose the specific beers or have the bartender choose a selection for you. I told our server that I liked the Hofbrau Original, so I wanted to have a beer flight from that family, whatever it was. She told me originally it was a lager, but then confirmed with the bartender it was actually a pilsner. Friend had a wheat beer flight.

We ordered a couple of sammies from the Red Table Cafe menu. I ordered the Greek sandwich, which was delicious. Love love love. I also really liked the chips that came with the sandwiches. Friend ordered a half of BLAT. Server brought her a full order but charged us for half order once we pointed out her error. Friend thought there wasn't enough avocado on her sandwich. Server also never brought us any utensils or napkins and was nowhere to be found after she dropped off our food, so we had to wave some random server down to get some napkins.

We enjoyed our beers despite the poor service, but I doubt my friend that lives in town will be back and I won't be back either if I am ever there again. I was really disappointed because the concept is GREAT and this place could be really successful if they step up their game with regards to service. Not only was our server inept, but we had consistently long waits for food and beer even though the place was not even close to busy. Get it together, mayor!

Man, I'm in love. All these tasty choices and where to start. Basically, this is a pretty dang hip beer bar with hard to find selections of many of the regional small breweries. Soo glad to see them offer almost a dozen sour beer opinions too. Only thing they could improve on is there pricing. In no time I had spend ~$50 in beer and food and I'm soo glad I eventually asked about the prices. Oh yeah, they should really post the prices next to the selections too...I hate finding out that a certain beer is $7 after I had put down a couple.

When visiting CO, this was definitely a highlight - 100 beers on tap and such a fun atmosphere. The only negative I have to say is that the food took a really long time to come out and we were there for lunch on a Monday. It was really fun and I can only imagine how awesome it must be on a weekend evening! I will definitely be going back there my next trip to FOCO. cool we have a beer bar. packed and a happening place. yes and yes. now the no's, no really interesting beers, don't get me wrong, i love my local brews, but when you have a 100 beers, in a town with local pubs, you need to go above and beyond. all the bars have the local brews. get some crazy different stuff in there. also not to psyched on spending 4-7 bones on a local brew. its pricy. if they chill on their prices, and expand on their brews, I'll come back. if not, i can go anywhere and get what they have and pay less for it. seems wiser .

Wow! This place is a hit from day 1! With at least 80 beers on tap, a clean modern feel, and a friendly staff, this is a place I can see returning to again and again.

Start with what this place features - the beer! Unlike Old Chicago, The Mayor focuses on rare beers - some are from the local microbreweries, some from the best of Belgium, and some from points in between. It's a beer connoisseur's treat. They keep rotating taps, so it's a good thing the menu is done with projectors. However, there were no prices, and some beer is pricier than others. So, the bill was a bit of a surprise.

Major bonus points to the staff, who is passionate and knowledgeable about beer. Emily seemed to be the resident beer expert, and could describe every beer I asked about in detail. She was very conversational and friendly, as well. While I didn't try it, the fact they do flights by beer style is also a plus.

The location and crowd was intriguing. Being a half block away from campus, you'd think it would be a college bar, but the crowd was more of a 30 and 40 something set. Lighting is modern, minimalist and clean. Very cool! Only downside is parking, as in, there really isn't any. Glad I am in bike distance

The food menu looked great. Will try something next time I am there.

Bottom line - major hit!

The bar has over 100 beers on tap which isn't news if you've read the other reviews. The beer taps are sorted by type which is nice, since most places sort by manufacturer. There is also a unique selection of beers that aren't found on tap at other bars in town which is nice. I enjoy local beers, but sometimes it is nice to step outside of the Fort Collins box.

The food is from the Red Table Cafe (but prepared at the Mayor) so check out reviews of their other location for a comprehensive food review.

The atmosphere is really nice and modern. I like that there aren't a bunch of beer signs on every inch of real estate. That makes me feel like I am in a fancy bar outside of Fort Collins.

FC needed a place dedicated to world beers (to go with the wonderful Choice City Deli and Cafe Vino) and here it is. This new joint is off to an impressive start, We went on their second day of operation and things seemed smooth and well thought out.

Very comprehensive selection of beers on tap covering every style, with lots of interesting choices. Bonus points for serving each style in appropriate glassware,

The food is good and reasonably priced, and the service was solid.

There is one major problem though -- beer is a true social lubricant and meeting new folks over a brew is one of life's pleasures. There's something about this place's layout, though, that doesn't lend itself to sociability. It's too sterile, too sports-bar like and not laid out to put people in contact with one another.

Fix that, and we'll have a winner.
