My experience here was more painful than the dental work prior.

Had a terrible time at this restaurant  today !!!!-- will not go through all the gory details, but the pounding rap music as we walked in  that greeted us at an ear splitting volume did not bode well for the rest of the lunch.  Pluses: the Guinness Pot Pie was good to very good according to one of our party.

Also, after I expressed my disappointment about this lunch on McCoys website and Twitter-- the owner was gracious enough to email me with his concerns and apologies...that shows that he wants to make this restaurant work. Thank you Glenn for caring.

Bottom line:Today's lunch was a  total disappointment. Like reviewer Devin D. I wanted to love this place. How nice it would be to have a decent place in the Center to have lunch? Hope Glenn can do it...

Awesome little place, great energy. The bartenders are friendly and the crowd is always a blast. We've been going here for a while and have never been disappointed. The Wednesday wings can't be beat for the price (although I have a strong bias for wings).

Fantastic place. Great people (Glenn and Mike are terrific)  in warm, welcoming atmosphere. Food (fish and chips and ceasar) was outstanding. Guinness on tap -- what can be better? Terrific place to spend time with friends and family, and to watch an NFL game, listen to an excellent Irish band or just to have a meal or drink. Cannot recommend it more highly.

First of all, I really wanted to love this place. I went last evening to watch the 1st NFL game at the bar and have some Dinner.
I was greeted by Mike who was an excellent bartender and server. But from then on, it was all down hill. I ordered the $5 special of beer battered onion rings. All five of them, I guess the sparsness of them sort of shocked me. Mike suggested the steak with potatoe and vegtables along with french onion soup. The soup was more like a consume and full of oil and flavorless. My meal came out 1/2 hour later and the steak looked great and was about 12 ounces. But looks are decieving...... The mixed vegtables looked like they came from stop & shop's frozen food aisle, yuk.  I had to smother the steak (which was cooked medium, perfectly) with A-1 sauce, which I NEVER use. It was tough and had no marbeling or flavor and very chewy.
Perhaps I just chose the wrong meal? The guy next to me ordered the wings which looked good. But, there are too many other places to try to give McCoy's Pub a second chance anytime soon. I feel really bad cause I wanted to find a new watering hole.......I'll have to keep looking.

Good food and service.  Typical pub fare.  Wings are good.  The 'Angry' burger is really good, probably the best burger I've had since moving to Stratford.
