This place brings the heat. If you're in Linden, but you ain't tryin' to eat Taco Bell or Chevys (I'm only feigning ignorance), swing by here, find a parking spot and chow down.

Most of the items on the menu are under $15 and they have specials err day, err day.

They also have shakes to wash down that bangin' pollo you ordered after reading this.

Oh why oh why did it take me so long to come here??? Is it because it's located on a not-so-friendly parking street?? Hmmm...I'll blame it on that for now, but wow!  I'm so glad I gave this place a try.  It's extremely hard to find a good Latin American restaurant in Linden and I love me some yummy Latin food.

This is an authentic mom and pop restaurant, so you know it can't get any better then this.  Our waitress was very attentive.  The food was excellent and the maduros were delicious.  I would recommend trying one of there fruit shakes, which is made from real fruit, rather then those syrups.  They have a pretty good lunch menu as well.  Definitely worth a try.

Only get their delivery and though sometimes they mess up the address, the food is really good.  The mofongo is delicious and the meat dishes are well seasons.  Aside from growing up in a dominican household, I grew up in the Washington Heights area on NYC, where some or the best Dominican restaurant are, and Meson Tropical is pretty close to the good ones in NYC.

What a pleasant surprise. We were with a party of five and first we shared some appetizers. We had both the chicken and shrimp empanadas, which were both delicious, but what shocked us were the chicken wings which were plump, juicy and crisp, not to mention excellent. My wife had the pulled pork, which of cohere I tasted. The pork simply melted in my mouth. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce. The shrimp were well cooked and the sauce was wonderful. As sides we had both the black beans and red beans with rice. Both perfect. Dessert was flan, rice pudding and tres leches cake. All great. The service was outstanding and the prices very reasonable. There was so much food we took home containers and we are looking forward to tomorrow's dinner.

I've never been to the actual restaurant but I was brought back a dinner recently. It was pretty good. I had the mofongo with pork belly. The pork belly was nice and crispy but the plantains dried the dish out a little. I had to dump some kind of green garlicky sauce on it which itself was delicious. The prices seem pretty good to me with dinners being around $10-11 a person. Definitely going to eat there in person next time.

I really tried to like this place, but it's a little bit of challenge when your serving mediocre fare for outrages prices.

Of course, they have your typical spanish selections ranging from pernil, bistec, & chorizo. Again, mediocre at best.

Although I will say this, the convenience factor for me as a patron is A1. This restaurant is about 20 paces (across the street) from my apartment. And on days that I feel like a lazy bastard, and have run out of spam in the crib, I maybe inclined to pay top dollar for so-so spanish food.
