Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub

I visited Mother Hubbards during my trip to the windy city back in November. All I was looking to to do was watch some Sunday football and have a couple beers and some pub grub without paying hotel bar prices.

Let's face it when you're in this sort of mood all you want is a divey spot. Nothing fancy. That's exactly what I got at MH and I couldn't have been more content.

The venue is covered with local Chicago team sports memorabilia, and beer signage. In my books the more neon the better!

Aside from the decor they also had a really great beer selection. I seriously could have had 20 pints and not had a beer I've ever had before (then again I'm Canadian so par for the course).

I decided on a local IPA (the name eludes me at this point but I remember that the bartender said this specific bottles IPA was the hoppiest they offered) sold!

To snack I ordered one of their Quesadillas. Holy chicken and cheese batman. I've never seen a quesadilla that was mountain shaped (came to a peak in the centre!)

I left here content and happy and full of cheese and if I'm in Chi-town again, I know where to go for some dive bar sports watching!

Fun bartender. Great (giant!) wings and a decent burger. Service could've been faster but I could tell the bartender was extremely busy as she had a full bar and had to make service drinks. It wasn't until we were leaving around 9pm that two other bartenders arrived to help. Cool sports bar with good beer and plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game.

They have a pretty good beer list here and tons of pool tables , its centrally located next to all the hotels if you're visiting and they were pretty cool with a bunch of chargers making this our home base.

The food was average and the wings were not buffalo style rather then the entire wing dropped into the fryer.

its a cool place to hang out and watch their million tvs while drinking beers but the food was just ok.
