This place is CLOSED. Just to let everybody know...
Oh, My House...How I miss those strange, awkward nights, drinking in the empty lounge area, the only people present being the companions I brought with me...the vaguely halloweenish decorating scheme, the target crowd of Quincy rapscallions/random folks, the out-of-the-way location on rt. 3A...everything about My House screamed "out of place", but there was something about the quirky vibe that I liked.
You will be missed, you weird, random little bar. You will be missed.
We went here for New Years Eve after a friend told us that she would be working here and asked us to stop by. We thought "a place in Quincy that is close to home with no cover and a free buffet and champagne toast at midnight on New Years Eve?" you can see why we stopped by.
When we walked in it was a little weird because it was dead and the few people there seemed to be regulars. After a little while (and a few drinks) we loosened up and started to have a good time. The owners (a husband and wife) were extremely friendly and kept walking around making sure everyone was having a good time. The DJ had a request sheet and people danced throughout the night. The crowd was friendly and the vibe was great. It was a very good time. We haven't been back yet but I look forward to another trip.
