Unfortunately, I spend a lot of time at this hospital and usually end up waiting between appointments so I end up coming here often. Au Bon Pain is good and all, but it's too expensive and you can find everything that it offers right across the hall.
All Spice loses one star because the bacon is shitty, but! They DO have Frank Red Hot Sauce and that is a total win in my book.
The food is always fresh and hasn't been sitting all day long because each little "restaurant" is open at specific times. The salad bar is pretty great and the soups are usually decent.
For cafeteria food, not shabby!
However, if you are ever a resident at this hospital, this is NOT the food you get. In fact, the food offered to resident patients is hardly even food. After being NPO for 4 days I was dying to put something delicious in my gullet, and what they had to offer was so unappetizing that I didn't even attempt to eat it. Do not get your hopes up for any spectacular entrees at this hospital! Ask a friend of family member to stop at All Spice or something before a visit!
It's all about managing your expectations. Honestly, I've been to other hospitals and cafeteria food is notoriously bad. Given that, this place is actually pretty decent and it reminds me a lot like my undergrad cafeteria with different food stations, etc. The price is pretty decent and I think it's a decent lunch place. As for the sitting area, well, that's another story.
