Great place to watch a sporting event. Â Plenty of TVs and reasonable drink prices. Â Don't expect culinary greatness, but the food is up to par for bar food. Â Try the pizza, wings, mozzarella bites, or toasted ravioli. Â
It can get pretty crowded and loud, but you are there to watch sports, not have a romantic dinner.
Each time i go there we get the dirty wings and pizza - both are outstanding!
I have also had the pork tenderloin sandwich and it is really good too.
Nice outdoor patio/deck and a decent number of tv's throughout the joint.
Friendly staff and good clientelle make this a no-brainer almost anytime.
I definitely recommend this place!
This little neighborhood joint is a great place to watch a Blues game. Â The owner and regular are hockey fans. Â Even on an off night, they'll be showing NHL on multiple TVs. Â Drinks are cheap here. Â $16.50 for a bucket of 6, $7 for a pitcher. Â Their pizza comes out on a baking sheet. Â It's ok. Â The crust is a little sweet for me. Â The caeser salad is simple and good. Â Service has always been good. Â This past visit John took care of us. Â I think he's been here for a while... I swear I remember him working here when I used to come in on a regular basis years ago. Â This used to be one of the most smokey bars in STL... but with the smoking ban, I can now regularly visit them without being suffocated.
Review Source:Went tonight for a quick bite. Server didn't write anything down. Sure enough the pizza toppings were wrong. My server put in another order which took time so I got it to go. Of course the pizza was cold by the time I got home. Then the server had the nerve to round up the bill over .50 cents when she brought my change. What was going to be a 15% tip turned into 10% if you count the change I was shorted. Â It'll be a long time before I return.
Review Source:Good wings & $5 5 day O'fallon IPA pints were both very much apprecieated.
The place is a big open room with a 4 foot (?) wall running down the center to seperate the bar & dining area. Â Smokers were crowding the back deck.
Overall, weird dive/restaurant feel that makes me not sure what about the place. Â I think they are trying to be a "Dive Irish Sports Bar & Restaurant"... IDK.
But, it is a bar with good wings, IPA and TVs and that means A-OK in my book.
Since I live in Brentwood Forest, I figured that I should try this spot out since it is so close and might be a good place to watch a game. They have a fair amount of TVs in the place and had every game on that I would want to watch so that part was nice. I was a little disappointed with their selection of beers on tap but I was able to find something that I liked so I wasn't too upset about it.
The food here is your typical bar food. Some stuff is fried, some is greasy but it is all pretty good, especially for the price. I ended up splitting an appetizer, having 2 beers and an entree for around $20 with tip which isn't bad at all. I ordered the patty melt which was a typical melt and nothing that special worth noting. I'm not saying it was bad, in fact it was pretty good, just nothing that you would have to have. Honestly, though, the food here is way better than anything I have ever had at Lester's and the fries don't come out cold. Also, my service was actually really good, although my waitress was indistinguishable from a guest so when she first approached our table we weren't sure what was going on. Maybe I caught them on a good night, but I have nothing bad to say about the service which seems to be a common problem for people.
In the end, this is a decent place to watch a game with very reasonable prices and good food. Sounds simple, but finding all 3 of those things seems a lot harder than it should be. I'd recommend coming here if you live in the area or are doing some shopping at the mall/promenade, but wouldn't come from far away specifically to eat here.
I didn't know quite what to expect from this place, but when I walked in it was nothing like I thought it would be like (does that make sense?!). Â It's very much a sports bar, local, small, laid back hang out. Â It was much smaller than I expected. Â There is a long bar with a small dining area surrounding. Â Just your run of the mill tables, chairs, nothing special. Â The drinks were pretty cheap, I had the wood chuck cider bottle for $4. Â I was beyond excited that they served cider beer, its hard to find at bars! Â It would be a nice place to grab a drink and watch the game, but not much for a girl's monthly HH outing, being that there were mostly all guys there and the decor was blah. Â The service wasn't that great, I just all around wasn't that impressed and probably won't come back.
Review Source:OB Clark's is a great place to enjoy a bucket of beers and watch some sporting events. It is usually an older crowd at times but they have their own Blues section which I think is pretty cool. The service was good last time I was their. As for the food, I hear the wings are outstanding and everything else is basically your average bar food. The only thing I don't really like about the place is it can get pretty crowded and it is somewhat a smaller place and it can get a little toasty inside. Overall, I still have a good time when I go to OB Clark's and it is in a fun location
Review Source:Food isn't bad and it's a fun place to drink, but I'm never going there to watch a big game again. Â We had a friend get there a couple hours early to reserve tables and all he could get were in the bar (they wouldn't let him reserve anything in the so called "dining" area...). Â Well that ended up sucking because come game time - after we sat there patiently waiting - the place starts to get crowded and our seats are worthless. Â You can't see the actual game. Â The people congregated around the bar completely block the view of the people at the tables so it's a total fail. Â You can only ask drunk people so many times to move left or right before you just have to give up and make do with a partially obstructed view. Â Won't be back for sporting events...
Review Source:Friday night was my first time at OB Clarks's.  First off, the bartenders were good and I have no complaints about them.  I had asked what the price of a pitcher of beer was and when I got my tab it was more than they said - apparently all the A/B products aren't the same price here. Not a big deal in itself, but when I mentioned it to the manager (or owner?) thinking I had been charged incorrectly, his (rude!) reply was  "just take it out of her tip".  What?!? No, I am not going to reduce the tip to the bartender. I'm sorry that those girls have to work for a manager that suggests (in front of them) that a customer should tip them less!
Review Source:I used to work here, a lot of sexy girls did...
Just kidding, a little spam joke for you guys. :)
If you need a place to watch the game, it's fine, but it gets just as crowded as everywhere else. Typical beer selection, typical bar food, and all that. Normally places like that I just take for what they are, but the service here completely blows! Waitresses have baditudes, ours kept forgetting everything, and it took a good 20 minutes to get our checks cashed out. It's dark and dingy in there, too, and tables are low to the ground and the whole thing just feels weird to me.
I approve of this place if you're desperate for a place to watch the game... they do have plenty of TVs and some pretty tasty wings.
There's not much more to say about OB Clarks. I'm not sure if I'll have a reason to go here again really, but for casual drinks it's A-OK.
One of my friends kept hearing good things about OB Clark's, and I figured they had a decent burger, so off we went.
It's a typical sports bar, kind of dark but that didn't really bother me. The server was friendly and explained the special, a chopped steak with soup. She took our drink order and returned with perfect timing to take our order, which she did from memory (sometimes a red flag for me).
I had the Steakburger with American cheese, and subbed fries for the menu's soup or slaw. Friend one had the Reuben with fries, and friend two had the breaded pork cutlet sandwich with fries.
The food came in a reasonable amount of time. We three eat together about once a week, and we like having a few minutes to chat. When the food arrived, the server put each plate down in the correct place without asking who had what, and all three orders were correct.
My burger was well cooked, and only the cheese was on the burger. The pickles, onion, etc. were on the side, as I like it. My only complaint was that the bakery bun could have been toasted a bit more. the burger's juices made the bottom bun a little soggy.
Friend one loved his Reuben, which isn't as humongous as Lester's version, and he said it was just right.
Friend two's pork cutlet was HUGE on the plate, but again, it turned out to be just the right amount of food. Our orders of fries were generous, hot, and tasty.
BONUS! Free soda refills. Almost no one does that any more!
All told, we were there for just about 40 minutes starting just before noon. There were maybe six other tables seated inside when we got there, and maybe four outside. Half a dozen more tables came in as we ate, so it looks like a good time to arrive.
We decided we're definitely adding OB Clark's to our regular rotation. It's a little more expensive than we shoot for (we usually spend $7-10, and this was $13 each including tip), but it was well worth it!
So three stars for the one experience, I'll add more if this is a typical experience!
I love Yelps explanation of what 2 stars should mean "Meh. Ive experienced better."
Thats a perfect description for OB Clarks food. Â My dad and I used to meet here for lunch all the time because location was convenient. Â We honestly said after ever meal, "Meh, it was ok." Â I actually think I have had every single thing on the menu looking for something I like. Â The burgers are just burgers, the other sandwiches arent very good, the pizza is your run of the mill cheese on crakcer STL pizza, and the specials arent very special. Â With that being said...by 11:30 this place is packed every single day. Â Dont get me wrong, I have not spit out my food in disgust or anything...its literally just a convenient place to get out of the office and eat lunch. Â
I get it though...its a neighborhood restaurant/bar with alot of TVs. Â Unless you want to head up to Clayton there is really nothing else around OBs.
If your looking for a unique meal/experience go elsewhere. Â If you simply want to meet someone for a quick lunch, you could do worse.
Wings are Awesome. Â Not kidding, the best I've had in years. Â Otherwise the food is fine. Â Lots of TVs and have been able to change it to whatever game we wanted all three times I 've been. Â The service was good the first two times, but the third was a bit annoying. Â One of the servers sat in the corner watching the Kardashians at a volume louder than the game that we were watching. Â Kids are welcome but sometimes smoke wafts over from the bar. Â Overall a good place.
Review Source:I haven't been to OB Clarks in a while and my wife and I were shopping in the area and it was great to sneak in for lunch. Â
I remembered the wings were always great so we ordered them and they were just as I remembered...awesome.
We both had the "special" which was meatballs in a red sauce on shell pasta. Â Food was excellent, the service was excellent.
The only thing is for some reason, I prefer to be seated by a waitress/hostess instead of seating myself...and the smoking is unpleasant. Â Also, the creepy parking lot guy still weirds me out and makes me uncomfortable every time I eat there...I think I can park in a spot without assistance for lunch, I know it gets crowded in the evening, but this was lunch. Â Lose the smoking, have one of the waitresses seat me and give the creepy parking lot guy a day off and you got 5 stars!
Considering this bar is within walking distance of my residence that should give it at least 4 stars...but...
Let's start with the good:
- Great Sports bar, tons of TVs plenty of fans, and plenty of options
- Great location, right on Brentwood behind the galleria and near so many other things
- Good space overall spacious with a large bar and large patio
Now the not so good:
- Never any drink specials
- Service was very very slow
- Food was below par
I'm going to bet I'll be back at this location plenty of times, so maybe I'll update the review, but right now. Â 3 stars.
It was a late Saturday afternoon around dinner time, and the man and I were both craving wings. The Post in Maplewood has become our usual wing spot, but we decided we wanted something different. Being the Yelper I am, I hopped on, and searched for wings in the area. With a few glowing reviews of the wings, we decided on OB Clark's.
The hot wings, were, in fact - hot! And delicious. We also split the fried grouper sandwich, was also really good. Definitely reminded us of our vacation in Florida over Christmas, where we ate grouper til our pants didn't fit.
Overall, the place was just "meh", though - I liked it because it wasn't crowded, and wasn't smoky (guess we came early?) - but their menu wasn't very exciting, and neither was their beer selection.
I'd come back and probably get the same exact thing.
Never understood why OB Clarks's is always crowded- the pizza is just OK (at best), it's smokey (even in the non-smoking section) and the d-bag factor is usually pretty high. Then again, this is one of the only restaurants in Brentwood that stays open past 9 pm and its proximity to Brentwood Forest automatically makes this place succeptable to douchebaggery. Last night was no exception.
Our waitress was especially uninterested in taking our order or getting us our tab. She was more concerned with having a smoke with her friends at the table next to us.
The pizza was fine- nothing fab but I like how it comes out in a square pan. We finished off a large (which costs $1 more than a small) in less than 10 minutes. It actually took longer to get our check!
Meh, i don't know why I eat here because it's nothing special.
Went there for the first time last week, on a Sunday.
We got there around 10pm, and there weren't many people there, but it was Sunday; we weren't expecting it.
The waitress was very friendly, and brought us our food and drinks pretty quickly.
I ordered a Rum & Coke, and felt it was way too strong. Won't be doing that again. My other complaint was that they only appear to have Budweiser products. While I love Michelob Ultra to death, I enjoy Blue Moon, as well.
We ordered the hot wings and they were delicious.
Overall, it was a good experience. I'd definitely go back.
Typical sports bar, located just south of the Galleria Mall. It's actually quite spacious, with a large Anheuser-Busch-friendly bar, competent bar staff, and really good hot wings.
I'm so happy their hot wings are actually hot, and served with carrots, celery and some bleu cheese. I hate dipping my wings in ranch. That's just... unnatural.
I certainly don't think of this place as a haven for great, in-depth conversation, but it's definitely somewhere to go to watch a ball game... Or chow down on some wings.
This spot is just down the way from my families house.
Each booth has its own TV in it for your viewing pleasure.
I always come here for dinner and late night to have drink, wings and pizza. Â The drinks are wet, the wings are hot, and the pizza in thin and tasty. Â Just a solid unhealthy sports bar retreat that I love to visit every now and again.
Parking can get a little crazy from time to time.
O.B. Clark's Restaurant and Bar is a nice bar in Brentwood right off of Brentwood Blvd. There you can enjoy a tasty barbecue steak burger. Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger that will fill you up, and while being filled up, you can enjoy the great sports teams that St. Louis has to offer.
Now, I'm not so much a television sports watching kind of fan because most of the time I really only want to watch a game in person, other wise I loose interest very quickly. So, most of the time I just don't watch the games, but the times I do, I enjoy watching them with a crowd and at O.B. Clark's that crowd is always provided. There I can cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals or the Blues in hopes that my good cheer will some how or another coincide with the good fortunes of the universe and allow them to win.
O.B. Clark's has a nice friendly atmosphere that is fun for anyone. The service is great and the wait staff is all nice and polite. O.B. Clarks is a real fun place.
