If you are looking for a great place to watch the game, O'Bryon's Irish Pub is an excellent choice. They have some great beer (and even a cider) on tap. They are willing to turn on just about any game.

The food is delicious. Their quesadillas are huge and taste great. They are also only $5 during happy hour. It's a great deal. I would also recommend their queso and bruschetta. Their black bean burger and southwest salad are some of my favorites.

The upstairs patio is a great place to watch the Reds game or enjoy the warm weather. Be careful if you go upstairs during an off time because it might take awhile to get service.

Overall, it's a great place!

I wrote a review last night after visiting a chain restaurant that could not handle the crowd. Tonight I am at a local establishment that clearly outshines the chain. It's the UC/OSU game and the place is packed. This place expected the crowd, but still staffed a single waitress, a single bartender, and a bar back. Guess what? They handled the crowd with efficiency and perfect service. The waitress is running around but has kept everyone happy - even after we have moved tables and changes seats. She's keeping multiple tabs at each table and is not having a fit about it. The bartender is handling the rush and server orders without issue and there are no unhappy clients.

The food is delivered quickly and tasted great!

Great place to grab a pint. Friendly service. I love the fries and the chicken caesar salad wrap.

O'Bryon's Irish Pub is not messing around when it claims its name as an "Irish Pub." This place is no joke.

Be prepared to walk into one of the divey-est, most down to earth bars of all time. If you watch True Blood this place sort of reminds me of Merlott's in attitude. Everyone knows each other and you are treated like family. This is the place to go for any sports event, boys night out or even just lunch with the fam.

I thought we came here a lot until I checked in here on yelp and literally 6 people said, "Get the Cajun wings with bleu cheese!" They were not lying. Had them salivating and rightfully so. You can get almost any flavor but the Cajun are to die for. Just spicy enough and the bleu cheese is the perfect compliment to cut the heat.

Also if you go up to the patio and look to your left you see a roof filled with plastic sharks and you don't think this is normal, IT IS! They have a drink with 4 shots of vodka, sprite, and sweet and sour mix. Then they put a plastic shark in it filled with grenidine. You get it, dump the "blood" into the water and it never gets old. (Either that or I am easily entertained!) Either way this place has some of the best pub food around, great rooftop patio, and SUPER friendly service.

For a neighborhood sports bar, the food and service are average, or slightly above. I love the chicken quesadilla with salsa and sour cream on the side washed down with a Blue Moon on tap. Yum! Overall, I can't think of better place to watch a football or basketball game. There are TVs and sports fans everywhere. Get there early though, because everyone has the same idea!

I have been to O'Bryon's quite a few times now and have decided that they have the best french fries out of all the restaurants I have been to in Cincinnati. You can even get the fries in Cajun style, but I prefer the plain fries with some ketchup. Their hot wings are also the best I've tasted in Cinci so far--moist and tender meat on the inside, crispy skin on the outside, and coated in tasty and ample amounts of hot sauce. The presentation of the wings is also nice as they come out on top of a nice green lettuce leaf, and the blue cheese that comes with the wings is excellent, especially with the actual chunks of yummy blue cheese in the sauce! Their fish and chips is okay and comes in three dip-friendly fried fish sticks, but I prefer the fried filets at the other Cinci "English" pubs. The burgers and sandwiches are typical fare for a pub and nothing spectacular. There is outside seating on the upstairs balcony which is nice for the summer, although smokers can ruin your meal. Service is generally great, with friendly waitresses who are decent at checking on the taste of the food and refilling drinks. They are a great place to watch college sports, and is primarily a Xavier den but also caters to OSU fans as we've successfully requested OSU football and basketball games to be shown on specific TVs. The main negatives are that during big games, the inside can get rowdy with college prep boys and the floors get sticky with alcohol and peanut shells. http://Restaurant.com offers some good coupons, especially if you can get them on sale!

i really like o'bryon's.

good food, good price. ok service.

and, as a notre dame fella, i am kinda biased because they have a nice crowd for ND games. and a lot of nice tvs.

good spot.

The only reason I went to O'Bryon's was for The Shark Tank. Its a drink that comes in a big cup, with several shots of booze, and a shark toy filled with grenadine. The drink was funny and fine but the atmosphere was rowdy and dirty. Sticky floors, loud crowds, and messy bathrooms.

The novelty of The Shark Tank was enough to get me through the door but not enough to keep me there. (And now I have the cup and shark at home to make my own.)

This was my first time here, and I actually only came because of the Denise Driehaus ( state rep ) Meet & Greet. A bar in an area where i can't find free parking and have to pay $1 an hour to park tends to drive me away.

Since i went on a Thursday after boy's night out, i really wasn't in the drinking mood :) So i started off with a tea. Definitely not as bitter as i like it, but I'm not going to hold that against them I'm a weird tea drinker.

The atmosphere was great, i love the pub feel with the wooden bench's. They are never comfortable and force you to get up and walk around to chit chat! There is 2 stories to this place, the downstairs was a happening happy hour, but we walked upstairs for the meet and greet. Boy was i in for a shocker when i saw the awesome second story outdoor seating area with another bar upstairs, awesome to the max!

There was some appetizers spread out, chips and dip and quesadillas. Both were decent bar food, you never can't really go wrong with the classics. Upstairs I had an OTR and talked with Denise and listened to her campaign speech.

All in all this is a nice place, when we left the smells coming from the plate on one table made be do a double take to memorize what i need to order next time. Remember those cartoons where the person is hovering from a smell and it guides them to a pie on cooling, Yeah it was almost like that. Can't wait to go back and try it!

This is your average, typical sports bar in almost every way. There is very little that makes it stand out from a million other bars in Cincinnati, except one thing...

THE SHARK TANK! An amazing, addictive drink which will knock you on your butt every time. Sprite, sour mix, and many shots of vodka with a plastic grenadine filled shark that you dump into the drink. Keep the glass and the shark! The only reason I go here!

Food is mediocre bar food. I do not recommend their turkey burger. I do like the free peanuts that are available.

You can get a http://restaurant.com for this place. They used to let you use them on alcohol as well, so we would go and buy 4 shark tanks for about $10. What a crazy deal!

This isn't a place I would go for a whole night, but as a starter for what will become an amazing, crazy night!

As a former Cincinnatian, O'Bryon's was my neighborhood bar. I always try to stop in for a beer and wings when in town. They have, in my opinion, the absolute BEST wings in Cincinnati. Extremely meaty and super saucy. Their chicken quesadilla/wing platter is my "go-to" order when I'm there.

I am *okay* with O'Byron's - but I'm not ever really satisfied.

We came because my mom (who loves sites like Half Price Cincy) found a deal, so we all came one Sunday afternoon when there wasn't a sports game.

First, this restaurant, every time I have been, has been terribly cold. Like even my husband was cold kind of cold, and that's just abnormal. I was set on getting hot food as I was so cold, and this was mostly in July/August.

First time we came in, I ended up ordering french onion soup and a grilled cheese. Both were okay - nothing I would be running back for, but also nothing I was completely disgusted by. In both cases, I make them better at home, so honestly these are two dishes I am incredibly judgmental about. We noticed they had Woodchuck in bottles, so we came back later for a drink.

We came on a Saturday afternoon, and we mostly came for a snack and a few drinks. We sat at a small table, where our waitress didn't come to us for a long time. Our waitress switched throughout our time there and everything took a little too long to get (which by the end caused a lot of people waiting for tables and literally standing next to us waiting for our check to come, which was a little awkward) so we were there for I think about double the time we should have been if there was better service. We also got pretzel sticks, which came out cold and were just sub par.

As a side note, there are free peanuts. And apparently there wings are decent - my dad had a few, but nothing he has ever come back for.

It's definitely not an Irish place also. Other than some random shamrocks, it's just a sports bar.

I wandered in here with some coworkers for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We nabbed a spot in the nice sunshine on the outdoor patio upstairs. Everyone's food looked pretty good - it is basically your standard pub fare plus a little extra variety. My daily special (chicken parm sandwich) was pretty good. Nothing was food-service-y. We even had a restaurant. com coupon (go get one - and search the internet for "restaurant. com coupon" first), so we basically got beer for free. Nothing too exciting or out of the ordinary except the extremely slow service. Reasonably prompt service is required for me to enjoy the place - it ended up amounting to a 2 hour lunch break. I'm not impressed with the food, so it's not really worth the trip back.

Bottom Line: I probably won't be back for the reasonable food and extremely slow service.

There may be nothing worse, and I mean nothing worse, then when you're craving a burger and just cannot get one!

We had been wanting that meaty meal and been denied at every turn. First place we went to the kitchen had closed due to it being a slow night (on a Saturday at like 8pm. Seriously!?) The next place was closed entirely ... and it was actually a bar! What the hell is going on? It looked like we would never get our hands on some food. It was enough to make the Hamburglar cry.

Finally, through a quick search on Yelp, we found O'Bryon's and hit it up. My god, they were open! They had burgers, it was awesome.

I expected the craziness of a loud bar on a Saturday night, but low and behold, we were lead upstairs to a fantastic rooftop patio overlooking Madison. It was beautiful. If it's a gorgeous summer night as it was when we went (well, at least for a little while), I can't recommend this enough.

I got the classic O'Bryon Burger: which had BBQ sauce, pepperjack cheese topped and topped with not only an onion ring but also fried jalapeno peppers! Win, win and more win! Now, normally the burgers come with kettle chips, but you can replace them with a different side for no charge - you just have to ask (I did sweet potato fries and they were delicious.)

Now, I must point out, the food was not fast, made worse by the fact that we were starving. I'm not sure if it's just a Saturday night thing when all other restaurants are apparently closed or if it's an everyday event, but it did take a while. Really though, it's my own fault, I should have gotten an app. I bet they were delicious as well.

About halfway through our meal, it started to pour - suck - so we had to go inside. Here, it was what you'd expect from a bar - loud TVs blaring noise, lots of people screaming to be heard over each other (and it only got louder as the night went on.) Still, the burger was so tasty that I didn't even care. Mmm, burger.

A good bar, a good burger. Thank you for being open, O'Bryon's. You're my hero.

Walking into O'Bryon's, I expected to be dining in a typical bar atmosphere surrounded by sports on TV. Then the server directed us upstairs to a gorgeous rooftop patio which overlooked Madison Road: a perfect dining spot for a Saturday night.

We were both craving burgers, so we went with the classic O'Bryon Burger: a quarter-pound beef patty with BBQ sauce, pepperjack cheese topped with an onion ring and fried jalapenos. Sides of sweet potato fries, seasoned fries, and kettle chips were also served up. Both of our burgers were devoured ferociously.

I don't recall seeing any traditional Irish fare on the menu, so if you're craving corned beef and cabbage, look elsewhere. O'Bryon's does have a variety of other pub foods though:

- Wings with 12 different kinds of sauce
- Portobello burger and Black Bean burger
- Beef, chicken, and pulled pork sliders
- Eight gourmet salads, including Cobb and a Wedge

O'Bryon's is a great space for patio dining in the summer and for those who enjoy sports pubs. Combined with our cheerful server, our dining experience made for a fun night in O'Bryonville.

Cost: $10 - $15 per person.

While I don' t think there's a lot that is "Irish" about this bar, it's one of my favorite places to hit up after a long day at work. They have a diverse menu of pub food, and drink specials 7 days of the week. What's not to love?

Parking can definitely be difficult. There is a parking lot located behind the restaurant and there's street parking as well. It's kind of hard to access during rush hour, but I've never had too much trouble.

My favorite part of O'Bryon's is the rooftop patio. There's always a nice breeze and there are plenty of big umbrellas to shade you from the sun on a hot day. The only disadvantage to sitting outside is that you can't bring the free peanuts upstairs with you!

Great prices, decent food and a fun atmosphere!

O'Bryon's "Irish" Pub is all right if you don't expect too much out of it. If you expect a basic neighborhood watering hole with some halfway decent food at reasonable prices, you'll probably be quite pleased with it. Expect anything beyond that, and you're going to be disappointed.

As others here say, there's not much "Irish" about O'Bryon's, unless serving Guinness and (french-fried) potatoes counts. There is lots of light beer, big TVs with sports, and typical sports-bar food (sandwiches, wings, etc.). What I've had has neither been particularly distinguished nor particularly bad. The beer list is not very exciting, but it does extend somewhat beyond the mega-domestics.

Surprisingly enough, considering the long-ish row of boutique-y shops that comprises the rest of O'Bryonville's commercial stretch, O'Bryon's is currently the only straightforward restaurant on the entire drag. It's housed in an old storefront, and it's got some old-school charm (big picture windows, exposed brick walls, a decent-sized bar, etc.) but not an abundance of it. The pub seems to get a decent mix of folks: college kids, older folks, folks from the rather lower-income neighborhood that abuts O'Bryonville, etc. This is a good thing in my book.

Overall, O'Bryon's is an okay stop-in that's nice to have on this side of town, but it doesn't offer enough benefits to compel us to visit very often.

If you're looking for a place to hang out with friends while enjoying food and drinks, O'Bryon's is the place. Their menu is surprisingly diverse for an Irish pub and we have always been satisfied with the food, as well as the service.

Parking can be difficult but we have never had too much difficulty. My favorite part of O'Bryon's is the free peanuts. There is something exhilarating to me about being able to throw peanut shells on the floor. Take that neat freaks!!!

I will admit that O'Bryon's location has caused me to experience some guilt. They are located across from Bob Roncker's Running Spot. As I am sitting there stuffing my face with delicious fried food, I am able to watch running groups assemble outside. Oh well! Maybe it will provide motivation for me to go to the gym later that evening. If not, the delicious food was still worth all of the calories.

I like this place. The free peanuts help satisfy the salt tooth. The food I've had there is nothing special (the turkey burger), but I am sure that the burgers are probably a little better. The salad I had was great. The drink ya gotta have is the SharkTank! I believe it's equal to 5 shots of alcohol. The drink comes with a plastic shark filled with Grenadine which looks awesome as it spews out of the sharks mouth. ha ha. I prefer sitting upstairs with larger groups and the outdoor balcony seating area will be great once this stupid cold weather goes bye bye. OH! There are two dart boards in great condition and lots of TV's to keep track of any sporting events.

In the interest of honesty, I have only been here once, and it was on St. Patrick's Day. But even on that craziest of bar days, this place managed to feel open. The waitstaff was attentive, even when they were swamped with patrons. We managed to nap a table by the window, and from there we were able to drink our green beer and watch basketball in (relative) peace.

While this place purports to be an Irish bar, it's basically a sports bar, and a good one. Decent pricing, reliable food (I had the buffalo chicken sandwich--not great, but very satisfying), and lots of televisions. There appears to be a decent patio upstairs, but since that's where the bulk of the St. Pat's crowd was, I stayed away.

Bottom line: I'll be happy to return here to catch another sporting event or two in the future. But I will expect it to be swamped on a Friday or Saturday night.

O'Bryon's Irish Pub is the staple of O'Bryonville providing drinks & pub food at reasonable prices and usually with a smile.

I lived across the street from O'Bryon's for about 3 years. Upon moving in, O'Bryon's quickly became a go-to for dining, drinking, watching sports, entertaining friends and visitors, etc. In the six years I've been going to O'Bryon's, almost nothing has changed. Similar menu, similar drinks, little change in the interiors and MANY of the same friendly waitresses. (Thought, over time, they seem to be gaining surgical cosmetic enhancements... ahem...).

Downstairs is VERY pubby with wood floors, bar, HDTVs, pub tables & such. Upstairs has a second bar that is generally only staffed when the upstairs is rented out. There is also a pool table upstairs. The upstairs deck is actually quite large with lots of dining or drinking seating and a nice view of Madison Rd. & O'bryonville.

I generally don't go out of my way to go to O'Bryon's, but it's still a very solid choice for Hyde Park area drinking & dining. It's deceptively spacious if the upstairs deck area is open & always has the relevant sporting event running on the big screens. If anything, O'Bryon's is Hyde Park's secret neighborhood pub & well worth a visit.

This is maybe a 3.5 rounded up to 4 because their wings were as good as everyone made them out to be. I very much enjoyed the cajun wings finished on the grill and yes, the blue cheese dressing they are served with was the real deal.

Other than the exceptional wings, it's really a straight-forward type of place. Purports to be Irish, but other than a few shamrocks here and there, it's just a regular bar that serves food. I was told that the waitresses here are quite "talented" but I didn't find them to be all that talented. Nor were they very good waitresses (get it?). Slow, slow drink service, empty beer glasses, no napkins. You have to be much cuter to be able to pull that off, ladies.

We love to pop in here to watch a game and have great pub food. They have a wings and quesadilla combo that I am in love with. The boyfriend loves the potato skins. They are more like potato buckets because they cut the potato down the middle instead of lengthwise. That leaves lots of room for cheese and bacon goodness. Ask for your wings Cajun and finished on the grill. They do not even need to be tossed in sauce. They are so full of flavor. The blue cheese dressing is also the real deal. It is full of big chunks of cheese. This is also the kind of place you can eat the peanuts and toss the shells on the floor. In the summer you can eat on the rooftop patio. Just don't ask for peanuts up there they have been banned. There must have been some sort of peanut pelting incident.

We have been going to this place for years. Food is always great and hot. Servers are always sweet. Beer is always cold.

Great place to watch a game for a good honest price. Wendell the High Life Guy will not be by anytime soon to take back the High Life.

Can't comment too much on the quality of food or beer selection. The food prices were around 7-10 bucks for regular pub grub. Didn't see a beer menu, but from looking at the taps they had some domestics, Stone, and I think some Sam Adams.

Since it was a cold day, we went with the Irish Coffees to warm our hearts and minds with an Irish winter classic. The coffees were rich and creamy and had a hint of mint liqueur. The green food coloring on the top the cream was a nice touch, and for 5 bucks it was a solid choice.

The hallmark of the visit was the order of chili cheese fries. My jaw dropped when I saw a serving of fries, for two none the less, for 3.50. For a dollar more, you can add cheese and turkey chili!!! Holy cow, or should I say turkey, that is a steal! And it truly was, for the portion was very large and the chili was mighty good.

This quintessential neighborhood pub was covered with local sports paraphernalia and flat screen TVs. Not a bad seat in the house. The only con was the slow service, but this is something that a sports hungry cheapskate like myself can overlook.

This is a terrible Irish pub. For a bar it is not bad, the food is alright, the prices are cheap, the service isn't great, but the patio is great. The problem is there is one Irish thing on the menu. They don't even have a decent selection of Irish beer or whiskey. So, if you just want a decent bar its works, but if you want an Irish pub head elsewhere.

Word of advice. Stay away from the Shark Tank. 2+ of those things leads to bad decisions and classic quotable comments. What am I saying? Order one up, finish it quickly, order a second and let your sharks get it on.

I love that this place keeps it real when it comes to the atmosphere. It's a dirty Irish/college bar so naturally they have drink specials and peanuts on the floor and plenty of TV's to watch games. The Irish could be a bit more Irish when it comes to the food and beer. No Irish stew. No corned beef and cabbage.... The cute little college aged waitress tried telling me that fish and chips was Irish though. Classic.

As for food quality? Boneless wings... not bad but not great. Steak Hoagie... reminded me of the Miami Tradition up in Oxford but somewhat better which is great news. The little woman liked her Chicken Philly but raved about her first time with Saratoga Chips.... to me, they could have used some work as half of mine could have stayed in the fryer longer.

All in all.... worth another trip and worth time sitting with friends having some beers and Shark Tanks.

Went there for dinner last night, my fiancee and I both ordered the chicken tender and fries basket. We had the soft pretzel appetizer and I ordered a Smithwick's. The soft pretzels were great, tasted just like they do at the ballpark only less than half the price. The chicken tenders were outstanding and the hone mustard was the best I have ever had. The fries were pretty standard but were very hot and tasted just fine. The Smithwick's was cold, but it is kinda hard to mess up beer from the tap. The prices weren't too bad, maybe just a little pricey. Our bill was just over $25.

O'Bryon's Irish Pub is the standard neighborhood sports bar. O'Bryon's has a full menu with decent prices, a full bar and a decent juke box.

The only food I have ever had there, are the wings. The spicy garlic wings are very good, give 'em a try.

O'bryon's also has a rooftop patio that is nice in the summer and offers complimentary peanuts. Having grown up in an ultra clean home, I must admit its sorta fun going to O'Bryons and throwing the peanut shells on the floor, other than that, its just average.

We drove to O'Bryonville for a day of shopping and dining, thinking there just had to be another cute caf or bakery like the Bonbonerie that we hadn't discovered yet.

After searching high and low (or more like up and down the street) we realized that our only other dining option was O'Bryon's Pub. We noticed quite a few diners on the roof-top deck enjoying the summer sun so we wandered into the Pub and were directed up the steps.

We got our own menus and waited a few minutes before any server made an appearance on the deck. Our server ended up being pretty friendly and efficient though, so I won't hold that against her.

O'Bryon's menu is shockingly extensive for a pub (spaghetti, salads, chicken, wraps) and even offers healthy items. I've been trying to be a little more health-conscious of late (check my reviews, I've been dining out WAY too much) so I was pleased to read that all of the pub's wraps are served on low-carb tortillas and come with a side salad, not fries or chips.

My sister and I both decided on the grilled chicken wrap. It was advertised as coming with lettuce, tomato, and grilled chicken, and sounded fresh and yummy. Unfortunately for us, we forgot about the whole E-coli tomato scare going on down south so we got wraps with just lettuce and chicken. They were pretty bland, but healthy, so we stuck to them. After adding some mustard and some of the Italian dressing that came with our salad to the wrap it was actually pretty good.

Our meal was pretty cheap ($18) and we were given enormous refreshing Iced-Teas in cute plastic cups bearing the name of the restaurant. They were much appreciated as the sun seemed to get closer and closer the longer we remained outside!

Probably a decent place to watch a Red's game and drink a beer, but I can't recommend the food. I ordered the Chicago-style beef brat with fries, only to be very disappointed with my choice. The charred brat looked had been grilled way too long, the sauerkraut was flavorless, though the sauteed onions and peppers were tasty. The fries were just standard.

My boyfriend's buffalo chicken wrap was okay, though the buffalo sauce tasted only of Red Hot. I overheard the waitress tell the table next to us that the fish was fresh and hand-battered, leaving me momentarily jealous until the dish arrived smelling anything but fresh.

Food: 2 stars
Ambience: 3 stars
Service: 3 stars
