We have been to this newly restored theater 3 x since it reopened and have been extremely pleased every time. The theater is very clean, the staff quite delightful, the comedy funny. On Sunday we went to their newly started movies. The sound was great as was the quality of the video. It is nice to be able to attend a movie or performance so close to home and in such a nice atmosphere. The fact that you can get beer, wine and a cheese plate from Cheesetique is a real bonus. I looked at their calendar and saw that they are now starting many different programs including music and programs for Children. This is going to be nice for all of us.
Review Source:So much possibility! Beautifully restored. The comedian we saw was pretty funny (maybe a little low brow for DC, but hey). The problem was the opening act: the juggler? He was funny enough.
But after him? A stripper! You think I'm kidding, don't you? We're sitting there thinking she was supposed to be more like a burlesque dancer but, oh, no, there goes her top. Not classy Old Town theater. Especially when you feature your show as being "for all ages."
I love the idea of live entertainment in Old Town - it is desperately needed. But we can do better.
Love the new look! I went to this place when it was a crappy, but still expensive, movie theater. Why it wasn't turned into a second string movie theater and bar I'll never know.
At any rate, it was taken over and created into a performing arts center. Comedians, magicians, and a lot of fun people. Had a great time here and the interior is absolutely beautiful.
So happy that this landmark didn't disappear but has been reincarnated. Can't wait to go again!
