I went here last weekend to check it out as I wanted to host an after party in the upcoming weeks. Â I am being completely honest when I say that the average age is 40 and the male to female ratio is 13:1. Â The floors are cement and were constantly wet. Â There is the bar with about 10 stools to sit at and the wooden bench along the concrete wall. Â The Bayou Room is approximately 13 feet wide and 30 feet long. Â It is about the size of a rec room in a single family house. Â I was there for about an hour and the DJ played the B-52s and Michael Jackson's "You wanna be starting something". Â It is not a hip spot or a cool hang out. Â There were people dancing so much so that I assumed I missed the part where they passed out the ecstasy as that is the only explanation to why anyone looked as if they were having fun.
Review Source:Totally a fun place, can get smokey but not oppressive. I'm an ex smoker, but it wasn't bad. Great people there just dancing and drinking lol .Had the most fun here recently. Seems like a really cool crowd for my first time there. Wasn't mobbed but heard it can get very crowded. Small dance floor, like 10 by 30 feet. Â Most fun I've had in a long time lol
Review Source:This is a smokey dive bar. If you don't smoke, like the smell of smoke don't come here. Plain and simple. Don't complain.
By far my favorite bar in Old Town. $2 PBR's until 9pm, just can't beat that! If you like dive bars, cheap drinks and a rowdy time. This is your joint! Friday and Saturday nights around 10pm can get pretty packed, the dance floor usually fills up.
