Oh, Irish pubs. Â We have a love and hate relationship at times. Â When I have walked out of here in the past, I loved how the way I felt, but hated you when I woke up the next morning. Â Blame it on the alcohol. Â Haha, luckily, I remained sober during the last visit for St. Me's Day. Â The crowd is lively and they got some good food if you're up for grubbing. Â Check in and get a discount.
Review Source:This is one to avoid; as you approach, note that the restaurant next door is crowded, and Paddy's is empty althought he decor and price point are similar. Â A close look and smell might also lead you to believe that another choice might be better. Restaurant is also disorganized and poorly run.
Loads of other choices on the strip which will serve you better.
I took you for granted. Â I judged you. But I shouldnt have. You are a quality Irish bar. AND YOU HAVE YELP CHECK IN SPECIALS.
This is important to note. You value yelp so I value you.
The service was stellar...i mean the waitress was spot on. I visited on a Friday night and it was busy but not so crowded that the waitress ignores you. The food comes very fast which is important for me.
I had the Buffalo chicken wrap and fries and it was pretty legit bar food. I can see myself going back for more. Nice vibe, nice service, good food and $2 bud. Count me in.
Bonus: there's a live bar on Friday nights.
I've never actually eaten here. I did walk down the street in front of the place one afternoon and for some reason the bartender decided it would be cool to spray silly string all over me. Got it stuck in my hair and stained my clothes with it. Maybe this is funny if you're actually going to the bar or if you know the person, but it's pretty ridiculous to do to a stranger walking down the street. He basically attacked me. Based on this, my impression is that everything about this place is lame and there's not a chance I would ever go.
Review Source:We liked the authentic look of the pub & how the front of the pub is completely open to Atlantic Ave; yet the inside was still confortably cool. Â All in all, we would have considered making this one of our usual spots had we not had the hassle with the bill. Â One of my friends thought this might be a practice of theirs to overcharge. Â Being many of their clientele might be too drunk to notice.
Having read Yelp reviews, I wasn't expecting much of the food but was anxious to check out the beer selection. Â I was pleased by both. Â The place was almost empty when we arrived. Â A young couple in their early 20's at a table, a couple in their 50's in a booth. Â The staff is very young. Â Our waitress was friendly.
We sat at a sticky table and were given sticky menus. Â Our beers arrived, no coasters, no napkin. Â Explains why everything is sticky. Â
We each selected different burgers. Â Although we ordered them cooked differently and no one ordered medium well. Â They all came out medium well. Â Surprisingly the burgers were still tasty even though they were all cooked beyond what we ordered. Â It appeared like a skimpy amount of fries on the side, but yet we all walked away full. Â The silverware and napkins finaly arrived to the table.
We had asked for separate checks when we ordered.  We got one check and we all had been overcharged.  We had to wait around and show the server the menu prices and then wait for her to  get another kid involved.  It was changed.  Still not correct, but we weren't going to sit around and wait again for them to correct the few more dollars.
The bartenders, drinks, and atmosphere is great. The problem is the food, we ate several times here and the fish tacos consisted of one inch square dried out pieces of  Mahi Mahi, the clam chowder was a watery broth, and the chicken fingers my husband ordered still had the quills attached! Really gross, they need to step up their game in the kitchen to compete on the Ave. Eat somewhere else, then drink here!
Review Source:Wasn't a huge fan of the food here.
If you're looking to drink like you are Irish in a new hip place, then its a great new bar. The stained glass ceiling and walls that are adorned with faux doors are a really neat touch, just wish they put a little more of that effort into their food.
Thanks to FLL yelpers I discovered Delray Beach! Â What an awesome recommendation as I loved this anti-SOBE experience which included Paddy McGees.
We went here to grab a couple of drinks and watch some college hoops. Â But we went here mainly because the pub next door's average age seemed to be "retirement", but was jealous that they were partying it up on a Thursday night and I was almost ready to pack it in.
Ok, I'll also admit, I was drawn into here by the staff's new outfits! Â Smokin! Â The house band was also great pumping out 80s and 90s rock hits.
Had some calimari to nibble on while we downed a few, and it was good.
I'll definitely be back here on my next South Florida trip.
The energy and atmosphere of this place is great. However, the food did not live up to the hype.
My friends and stopped by Paddy McGee's on our break from Garlic Fest. Although the place was packed, the host managed to seat us immediately which was very nice and accommodating of him. The pub has a nice, laid-back, feel to it and I bet it makes for a great place to watch the game and grab a few drinks. But like I said, I would stay away from the food.
I had the calamari and the buffalo chicken wrap sandwich. The calamari was not seasoned and tasted like plain battered and fried calamari, no salt or pepper, nothing. The marinara sauce that was paired with it was so thick and heavy that it resembled tomato paste instead of sauce. This was also tasteless.
The buffalo chicken wrap was the worst. The chicken was incredibly chewy and rubbery, and the fries that came with it were cold.
If Paddy McGees can manage to fix up their menu I'll definitely become a regular here. For now, I would only recommend this place for drinks.
Funny thing, I traveled all the way across the country and still ended up in an "Irish Bar"
Paddy's reminded me of my home away from home; The Harp in San Diego.
We could hear the music from across the street which drew us in and the reasonable prices and friendly staff kept us inside.
The the crowd was lively and (mostly) young. Beers were 5 bucks and the band was enthusiastic. I think they were called "The Cover Ups" and they played some cool 90s rock you don't hear all the time.
If I were back in DelRey I'd totally stop by again!
Met some friends here for dinner, drinks, and the Neil Diamond tribute artist on a Wednesday night. Â I swear the tribute artist sounded EXACTLY like Neil Diamond! Â His voice was great and he did a good job of getting the crowd engaged and interactive. Â What fun!
As for the food, they serve typical Irish pub food. Â Nothing extraordinary, but it's good. Â It's just not over the top enough for us to make a special trip. Â We'd rather go next door to Johnnie Brown's for a more lively ambiance, but if you're jonesin' for Irish food, you'll probably be satisfied at Paddy McGee's.
Looking for a place to eat, we parked in front of Paddy McGee's. Â Let's try it, why not? Â They have TVs all over... Â We can watch the game, grab a drink, eat and, the had live music too.
In their menu they offer pub classics like fish and chips, chicken pot pie, bangers & mash, and more. Â The also have salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. Â I opted for the Paddy Melt. Â This comes with your choice of cheese, fries and pickle on the side. Â To drink we ordered an Irish Mule, similar to a Dark & Stormy but different whiskey and that they add ginger juice or slices to it. This last ingredient makes it too sweet for my taste so mental note to ask it without it next time I'm there.
Nothing extraordinary but a good ol' Irish bar to meet friends, watch sports and have some drinks.
Service is bad as we waited 10 minutes to be helped. Â Seems we were interrupting the conversations that the staff were enjoying. Â We came in for the advertised happy hour 1/2 price menu. Mushroom appetizer was cold and too salty but the potato skins were ok. Â Â Weird vibe at this place in the daytime. Â I guess you have to be drinking with friends to make this place seem normal at night. Â Not going back again.
