I'm so glad my husband found this place on Yelp last night. Â I was craving a mojito so we decided to try it out. Place was a little crowded but only had to wait like 15 min for a table. Not bad since we didn't make reservations. Gentleman at the door and our server were very helpful and welcoming. They explained everything to us (i.e. menu, drinks, sauce & appetizer pairings, etc). We had beef and chicken empanadas, papa rellena and stuffed poblano peppers with tostones and spanish rice. Everything was so good. Â If it weren't for the horrible weekend parking on Milwaukee (thanks to the Congress & V-live) we'd go back more often. I really liked Paladar. We had a great time.
Review Source:This place is about 100 feet from my business partner's house, so we ate here a couple times around NYE 2012-2013. In fact, we had an early dinner here on NYE, since we were going to a party elsewhere to ring in the new year. The staff is friendly and efficient, the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The owner was happy to come over and talk about his food and rum selection.
It really fortunate to have a great restaurant that's conveniently located. If you're headed out to the Congress Theater, this would make a great stop for a drink and a snack, since it's only 100 feet away.
Paladar will put you in a nice mood for the rest of evening.
This restaurant is so good, it has made me come out of my comfort zone and write my first Yelp review ever and I felt compelled to do it because now I felt a responsibilty of letting Chicagoans out there know how great this place is. We went with a party of 6 and every item we ordered was simply delicious. Sauces are amazing, they made everyhting taste even better. The Red snapper was a delicious dish and the appetizers were wonderful a wonderful experience. And t make everyhting better, they have simply the best GUAVA mojitos I have ever tasted. So we are definetly going back to taste the rest of the drinks while savoring some appetizers.
