So I'm kind of a pizza snob. Just a little...in that when I go out to pick up a pizza or get on delivered I want the good stuff. Pequod's. Gino's. Beggar's. Giordano's.
BUT...when I want a ginormous slice of pizza. I will come to Papa Ray's. The pizza is probably only two stars at its best. The service is fine, 3-4 star range. The price is 5 stars. $3.99 for the monster slice deal which gets you a drink and a slice of cheese, sausage or pepperoni (other toppings available for an extra $.50). The monster slice is literally a quarter of a large pizza. And at that price? I'm not complaining that the sauce and crust aren't great.
It's cheap, ginormous pizza. What's not to like?
I'm going to have to grade this one poorly. Â
I ordered delivery. Â A pepperoni pizza and the mac n cheese. Â The delivery guy was nice, but the food wasn't that nice. Â It's not "digusting" or anything, but it did make me scrunch my nose... the mac n cheese had a weird odor to it, not something that's gross but something that doesn't belong. Â It's definitely not the best mac I've had, but also not the worst. Â Perhaps eaten fresh it would be different.
As for the pizza, it is pretty much standard rate "cheap pizza" though I can think of a couple other cheap places that do it better. Â The leftover pizza just didn't appetizer me either. Â I mostly only tried this place because I was looking for something different to try and I had a coupon. Â Won't order from here again.
