My hubby and I have this tradition each year during Lent where we try a different sushi place every Friday (yeah, I know ... this probably doesn't drive home the whole concept of "sacrifice" but hey, I'm not even actually Catholic!). Â This little place was close to home and BYOB (always a plus in our book!). Â It was small and cozy but we were able to get seated without a reservation on a Friday night (also a plus! And certainly not the case with our go-to sushi place in the hood, Coast). Â The sushi was fine ... not out of this world (still looking for a place to top Coast in that regard and I don't think S@kura is going to be "the one"). Â We always order the Spicy Tuna roll as our measuring stick and theirs was actually spicy (yet another plus!). Â Overall we enjoyed decent sushi at a very reasonable price (yay!). Â Seeing as they also offer delivery/pick up I see this place becoming a viable option for us when we don't want to shell out the big bucks for an at home sushi night.
*Sorry for the repeated Coast references .... being our current fave, I can't help but compare every other place we try to them. I'm not much of a foodie, so I need a basis for comparison!
I usually get good service here but last week was pretty bad. I haven't been here for a while and I guess things have changed. Too many different people coming to our table. They bought me the wrong thing and when I asked to look at the menu again, the sever got an attitude. When I told our waitress she hushed me...not cool. I didn't go out to eat to get an attitude and poor service. It was my friends first time going there. She won't be back and neither will I. I don't recommend this place.
