This is the type of place that someone would either walk in and call totally ghetto, or really really cool. Â The original decor is Mexian-themed, but the furniture is quaint, comfy, kinda mismatched...but I think it's really cool. Â They don't serve a lot of variety in food, but the atmosphere is really neat. Â It's my new favorite hole-in-the-wall type place.
Food: I recommend the paninis. Â YUM. Â And the homemade churros. Â Haven't tried the other stuff yet. Â I'm not a huge sandwich person, but I really was impressed by the paninis. Â Free wifi, cute fake fireplace...I mean, come on. Â This place is cool. Â I drove past it a million times and wish I had decided to check it out sooner. Â It's probably one of the lesser known cool coffee shops in the area - you probably don't have to worry about it being too packed with college students studying...though if they find out, I would be happy if they started packing out the place. Â I would study there!
Like the reviewer before me, this review is for their Logan Square Farmers Market stand where they offer $2 tacos and elotes (and if you don't know what one is yet, you've got to come on Sunday and try one!), and $3 horchata. The tacos are great - simple, full of flavor, and just like you would get at your favorite taqueria. The fact that they work so fast, serve such good food, and such affordable prices - well, it's no surprise the line is always so long. When you add music, a lot of grassy, shady areas for people to sit with their friends and families - it makes a perfect day at the market. Check them out. I've never been to their location on Fullerton, but as long as they're at the market, they have my $$ every Sunday!
