Panera is a great staple because you can get fresh and healthy foods on the go. This particular location is conveniently located across the street from Target. It is a VERY busy intersection, but you can park for free in the garage, which is great. The staff is friendly, and always get my order right. They aren't reinventing the wheel here, but I like  knowing I can get something fresh and healthy and convenient.
Review Source:The location north on Elston...the associates and service is consistent....always friendly and attentive. Â Believe me I can be a pill. Â My only complaint is that I wish their menu was more calorie friendly. Â I usually stop there on the weekend and it's rite after working out with my personal trainer or 3-4 mile run. Â I'm limited in their food selection, but I keep going back. Â I've learned to make it work...keep up the good work!! Smooches.
Review Source:Panera isn't my all time favorite.
But me and my boo were at Target, I wanted a quick bite before work.
I really like the mac and cheese and French onion soup combo. (I'm clearly watching my figure)
But the mac and cheese is very rich and not by any means kraft instant mac. (it's no smoke daddy but for in and out in 10 minutes I'll invest)
Onion soup is always very rich and i love that they put the croutons on the side. Â (It's no Bistrot Zinc, but again for a food chain it's really good.)
I enjoy Panera and this one always delivers. Went here on Sunday so no real traffic. Â I barely had time to order and get my drink and my food was ready! Â My favorite sandwich is the Bacon Turkey Bravo and I always try and get the black bean soup with it. Â They don't really go together but I do love 'em.
Review Source:Panera Bread is one of those establishments that is predictable you know what you are getting every time you go in there.  It also happens to be right next to my gym so I always stop in for tea following my workout not that I haven't grabbed a bit to eat there from time to time. A bagel and a personal fav good for vegetarians is the black bean soup. The atmosphere is cosy a good place to people watch for a bit or just play on what ever wifi devise of your liking for an hour or so.  Bread yes of coarse it is excellent and also a good place to grab a loaf for a good price if your having dinner and want something besides a hard crusty load of french bread from a grocery store.  I'm not much of  sweet eater but they seem to have many very attractive options. The staff is always very friendly like people who like working for that company which is always a plus in my book.  Will I be back - yeah probably later today.
Review Source:I was happy when Logan Square got a Panera. Â Located in the same building with Xsport and Enterprise, I used to come here after working out. Â It was easier for me to pick up dinner than go home and cook for an hour. Â I love their combos and normally get soup and a half sandwich. Â I've never had anything bad and would like to try their bread and pastries. Â I've also heard their iced green tea is fab so maybe a run to Panera is in my near future.
Review Source:I worked with Tony in the catering department for an event held this last weekend-- he was not only incredibly helpful-- he personally showed up at 9am on a Sunday morning to deliver the food and goodies we had ordered! Â Panera has a great selection for adults and kids, and it was such a pleasure working with Tony. Â I would highly recommend using Panera for any birthday party or other event!!
Review Source:I'm not sure why I keep going back to this place. Â Convenience? Â Maybe.
To be fair, I only go here to grab a late lunch, and over the last couple of years I've probably been in the place about a dozen times. Â And every time it's the same thing. Â First, walking in the door. Â
Right away, there's a bored looking cashier/order taker person saying "Hello!" Â Now, it's not necessarily the greeting, who doesn't like to be greeted? Â But suddenly, I feel rushed. Â I don't believe I've ever been able to look at more than one panel of their menu, and I always find myself rattling off the first thing on the menu I can focus on, rather than getting a couple of minutes to read, consider my options, then make a selection. Â
Then, finding a table. Â I'm consistently disappointed. More often than not, every large (and small booth) has one person and their laptop/homework/business spread out all over the place. Â Sure, free wi fi is great, but I would think that having you order a cookie and a cup of coffee and then taking up a four top for an entire afternoon isn't what the owners had in mind when they offered up the freebie service. Â Once, I'd like the chance to sit at a table with my husband that was just a wee bit cozier than the tables jammed up against a plate glass window looking onto traffic. But, that's just me, I suppose. Â Short version: Â I don't find this place at all comfortable. And, it always seems to be not quite clean. Â I don't know what it is, but it just seems like the staff doesn't get out to the seating area very often to tidy up. Â There is that half wall that obscures their view, I suppose, but still. Â Maybe I'm expecting too much from what is essentially a fast-food franchise.
The food? Â It's OK. Â Not really a reason to go there. Â I imagine if I ever wanted a couple of artisan loafs to take home, I might give it a try, but can always find that stuff in the grocery now. So, er, Meh.
Two stars for lack of comfort and an additional star cause the food doesn't suck.
Out of all the Panera's in the city, this one seems to be the best, assuming you don't show up the last hour they're open.
My order is always accurate and made pretty quickly, and the lettuce in the salad is always green, and not wilted. And I rarely have a problem finding seating.
The morning crew is very nice and friendly, and the night crew is hilarious.
Been to this Panera twice this week and was really disappointed both times. The first was because we got there right before closing and were told that they would be closing shop after us, which is not a big deal. They were putting up the chairs and sweeping and that didn't bother us at all, but to turn off the water and pop...why???
Went back a couple days later because I wanted a bread bowl and saw that they had free wifi. So I went and got my bread bowl but could not connect to the wifi at all. It kept giving my an initializing error. It was really sad because I was looking forward to enjoying myself there while I worked.
Fool me once......
Unless Panera's standards go completely out the window, I will happily be a consumer of their products. Some of their products are better than others: the Sierra Turkey sandwich, Broccoli Cheddar soup, and BBQ Chicken salad are the standouts in my book, not to mention those crazy carb-filled and oh-so-delicious bagels: Cinnamon Crunch, anyone?
Anyway, this location is particularly delightful. I say that for a few reasons:
1) It's large. There's a lot of seating, which means I will most likely find a booth.
2) When I find a booth, I generally find an electric outlet! Hooray for my quickly-dying computer battery!
3) When I plug my computer in, Panera offers me free Wifi. I'll take it!
4) I don't feel pressured to leave because this Panera isn't crawling with computer-clad coeds (take the hint, Lincoln Park location, but uh, don't come here).
5) I can be here for 3 hours without paying a cent for parking. Can you say that in ANY neighborhood between the hours of 8am and 9pm? Nuh uh. Didn't think so.
So, all of this to say, when I need to have a working lunch, this Panera is my best bet so far. Munch munch.
I know Panera is a chain, and in Chicago there are so many great little independent restaurants to eat in that eating at a chain restaurant seems so... so... suburban... but GOD I LOVE PANERA.
There are times I just wanna go eat some food in my gym clothes with my hair piled up on my head and not a lick of makeup on my face without being looked at funny by the staff... Â I want fresh food. Â I want healthy food. Â I want tasty food... Â and there is always Panera. Â
The people who work at this one are lovely. Â They are always kind and accommodating (leaving things off, putting things on the side... even after the order has been processed). Â There is free wifi. Â It's always clean. Â And heck, you won't get robbed there cause it's always filled with cops.
I will never move back to the Suburbs (did my time ages 1-18), but I will always go back to Panera.
So we all know what Panera brings for lunch but I was needing some morning sustenance while out on the road....I had seen all the in store adverts for their breakfast items so thought i'd give it a shot. Score one for effective advertising and perhaps a weak will, as I rarely do anything outside a bagel, english muffin or cereal in the a.m. Â
Chose the bacon, egg pannini which was pretty decent but at a few dollars more than Mc D's or similar fast food (minus the drink and hashbrowns) can't say i'd choose a Panera breakfast sandwich again. Â I found the quality to be marginally better than a fast food breakfast sam.
Ahh there's nothing quite like Panera... Â Well unless it's the St. Louis Bread Company (the mother of them all). Â I'm usually not a fan of any chains, but this one is a guilty pleasure. Â Who ever came up with the Pick 2 deal is Genius! Â For under $7 you get a choice of:
Soup-Salad
Soup-Sandwich
Salad-Sandwich
_______________
Entree above + an Apple, Bagguette or crispy Chips.
Their soups are yummy (mmm black bean soup--believe it or not it's good), their salads are delectable (I especially like the Asian Sesame Salad), and don't get me started on their fresh bakery items. Â You can always get free water cups and all the lemon slices you'd like, along with free Wi-Fi. Â My biggest complaint about this location is the lack of parking (I refuse to use the garage). Â Other than that, love it!
i'm very happy panera has come to my hood. i've been here 13 years and suddenly a cheap health club (x sport) with panera. Â why do i love this (as a chain hater) because there's lots of room for everyone, free wi-fi, really remarkable food at super low prices, kids welcome on all levels. Â i knit here with friends cause everyone fits and the food is usually pretty healthy and delicious-although the coffee is weak overall (sorry).
panera rocks my wallet and morning/afternoon hang! Â keep the soups in the breadbowl coming! mmm...
Okay, so Panera is Panera, which is what I love about it - their broccoli cheddar soup and sierra turkey sandwiches have been consistently yum since high school. And they were even with me during my vegetarian phase.
I'm reviewing the location - on the corner of Logan and Elston. The actual cafe part is okay, it seems to be constantly busy, but there aren't usually a lot of screaming children (one star) and the employees are polite (another star makes two).
But that parking garage has got to be one of the scariest in Chicago. For real. Its dark, its twisty, there are roid-ed out XSport maniacs all hyped from maxing out. The elevator is equally scary...very small and opens to the street. I don't usually spook easily, but running to my car trying not to spill my Dr Pepper refill, with a belly full of cream based soup and an impending turkey coma was not enjoyable.
Awwwww...The employees here actually take the time to walk around and ask if you want them to clear you plates. Â I mean, how effin' nice! Â I still think that they take pity us - those who are staring miserably at their laptops. Â They even take orders for cookies right at your table, in order to satisfy your sugar fix! Â
Now that X-Sport is finally open, parking is free for 3 hours. Â After that, it's like $7 bucks! Â Insane. Â Street parking is pretty easy, though, so that's what I always opt for.
I'm adding one star for the upgraded wifi and better service - but no more than that. They're overpriced and unfortunately, have a standing policy of 30 minute wifi limits during lunch hours. It will log you off and you can't log back on - so I packed up, left and spent my money elsewhere.
Review Source:With any type of busness there is always going to be some problems. This is understandable. It's how those problems are delt with that make a difference. It is very refeashing to have somewhere to eat that isn't a greesy mess. It is a bit cluttered in there. They do need more space to accomadate the busness that they get. However, it isn't there fault the building is so small. They are usually pretty good at keeping the tables clean. A big part of it depends on what managers are working. Erin, Eric, and Holly run the place very good. If there is ever anything wrong, they sincerely listen and do everything in there power to fix the problem. The food is really good. If it wasn't for being so expesive I would most definatly eat there everyday. With all the different types of foods you can eat something different every day for a month.
Review Source:As some of the other reviewers said, this is a great place to study. Â There are always a lot of people studying/working, there are a ton of outlets at the tables, the staff there is super nice about picking up your trash if you haven't done so yet, there is free wi-fi, and best of all free refills on coffee from the carafes at the side bar. Â I'm glad to see this addition to the neighborhood. Â It will be interesting to see what is going to go into the shopping area that is being built diagonally across the street. Â I have to say that the latte the barista made for me the other day was not all that hot, and neither was the coffee in the carafes. Â But I will be back because overall it is convenient, and a great place to get some work done in a nice atmosphere.
Review Source:Broccoli and cheddar soup = mmmmmmm goodness. Â This specific Panera just opened recently and is really nice. Â There's a free garage attached to it, though you do have to walk outside the building from the garage, as it's shared with some fitness center. Â The inside is exactly like every other Panera so everything's pretty typical here, but it's a good typical.
Review Source:Until a couple of years ago I never really ate at a Panera Bread. I really haven't. Until I moved to Orland Park, in which they had one in their mall. I always thought they were pretty good.
So with this location freshly new in my parents neighborhood I decided to meet my littlest brother here for lunch today. Since it has been a while, I wanted to come check out their menu again.
Our lunch was good. I got the Pick Two Combo--half of the Turkey Bravo Sandwich and a cup of the Broccoli Cheddar Soup. The soup was really good. The sandwich could have had more mustard on it--but I'm a mustard snob, so I am sure it was norm. My brother had their Sourdough Bread Bowl soup. He says it is his favorite, it did look good.
I was full when we left. The staff was really friendly at this place. Especially the bus boy Romi. He was great. So helpful, and keeping the dining room clean! They also have Free Wi-Fi, that is really nice. Especially in this up and coming neighborhood there aren't many spots that have that amenity. I'll be back.
