Got a turkey artichoke panini recently from this panera and there was hardly any meat on it, at first look i thought they forgot to put the meat on all together but once i looked inside i saw a little piece of turkey hiding In there, if you eat at this location check your food before you leave with it!
Review Source:Panera was nice a great solid place, Â but I think they have suffered the greatest loss of quality in this economy. Â Smaller portions and higher prices sum it up, with less taste. Â Then those new flatbread sandwiches they proudly promote are the worst offenders of all, mostly flatbread, barely any substance in the middle, and too small to fill up a child at $8. Â Oh Panera, how you've let me down in recent months.
Review Source:This is the first time I have not been pleased with a visit to Panera, and I feel I must make it known.
We went through the drive-thru and they had a new smoothie listed on the board. I thought we should try it, it sounds good. But they are not serving it yet. They updated the board before they could serve the smoothie. Disappointing.
So I ordered the meal I had been craving: Chicken Stew. I love their Chicken Stew. But even though it shows on the menu board, they have stopped serving it for the season. Again, very disappointing.
This has been a favorite study location of mine for a couple years; awesome food, unlimited coffee, fast wi-fi, AND the floor plan allows for some cozy study nooks.
The service is great as well, I just wish they vacuumed the floor a little more often. I have yet to use the drive-thru as it's a lot easier to eat and study inside compared to my car.
shame shame shame on you Panera. Â Soup slopped on the plate drenching my napkin. Â My Tuna Salad on Honey Wheat was thrown together, I even had to ask for another piece of bread as the one you gave me did not cover the sandwich. Â The knife was rusty - how do you get past inspections. Â My rating - PU.
Review Source:The absolute only thing you need to know about this particular Panera?
IT HAS A DRIVE THRU.
Otherwise, service is great, food is always superb, and the lines move quickly. But I say now again...a drive thru, they have one.
This is (obviously) a Very Big Deal to me.
Now, before you crawl up my ass about being lazy and loving the drive thru, I'll just throw out the ages of my kids: 5, 4, 3, and 2. Okay? We understand each other now, don't we?
I'd also like to point out that I've yet to find another Panera with a drive thru, so maybe that's part of the appeal. Additionally, as far as drive thrus go? They've never made a single mistake on our orders. I've yet to encounter an unfriendly, not smiling employee. It's just so...good.
Oh great grains, a drive thru Panera. I really don't have anything else to say. It's just fantastic.
Panera is Panera. Has the bread. Offers the salad (yikes). Has soup. Soup does taste like it comes from a can. Breakfast works for the wife and me. I wonder about Naperville's Panera. It was an old Applebees, and despite the remodel, it still looks like a re-do. We frequent the Panera in Delavan, Wisconsin often. That place is new, inviting and always packed. I wish Panera had a better facility in Naperville including: fireplace, more cushy chairs, Â better point of sell with obvious lanes/lines. I won't drive the extra mile to visit Panera. If I'm driving by in the morning and hungry, I may stop.
Review Source:Today was my first attempt at Panera's breakfast menu. Oh yeah! Sausage, Egg & Cheese on a warm Ciabatta bread was exactly what I ordered. By the time I was done creating my hazelnut coffee concoction, my order was ready.
I love Italian bread and my first bite into the ciabatta was soft and greeted with the intense flavor of meat and cheese. Now that's how you start off your morning right.
This location is super clean and spacious, so if you bring your laptop you can literally hold down a group meeting.
Great decor and inviting color scheme. I am a fan :)
I work right by this location so for the hungry decorators at our shoppe, this is kind of viewed as our go-to for food. A great aspect of Panera is that their menu is extensive where it can meet pretty much anyone's needs. I love their soups and bagels and when money is tight, I love that a bagel from here is satisfying enough to take place of a real dinner.
A few favourites of mine from Panera would be their Frontega Chicken Sandwich, Tomato Mozzarella panini, their Tomato/Basic/Mozzarella salad (seasonal), The Greek Salad, and pretty much any of their soups. They got a new power breakfast sandwhich that is divine and I always crave it in the mornings when I work by this location. It's vermont white cheddar, tangy ham, and an egg on whole grain toast. It keeps me going for awhile, just the right mix of fat and proteins. I am so sad that they took away the Bistro Steak Salad a few years ago, but they started to bring back other steak options, so that will have to be kept in mind for my future orders.
I always go for the You Pick Two because then I really get the best of both worlds. I like variety in my meals and with this you can choose a side salad/soup to go along with any half sandwich. The portions are pretty well sized. If you go for this option, it is likely you will be paying about $8 for your meal.
A big perk to this location is that there is a drive thru which speeds the process up. If no one is in line you can get in and out in under two minutes. This location tends to get busy as hell though. Sometimes the lot is completely full, which is a bummer, but the service is pretty quick, but like any other fast food, make sure you check your bag for the right food. This goes for both drive thru and carry out.
I had an unfortunate experience at this location that went unheard about until now. I was in a rush and I was CRAVING a piping hot panini because it was a particularly cold day. So I scooted over, went in, ordered, got my buzzer, and waited. At the same time my buzzer went off, so did the woman's next to me. We looked at each other (must have had the feeling something was about to go wrong) and got our bags handed to us. Because of this reason, I checked my bag; okay, had the right salad, saw a half sandwich, and I thought I was good to go. I got back to the shoppe counting down the moments to scarf down my lunch. I opened up the sandwich and it was a pathetic cold turkey sandwich, with a lowly piece of turkey and cold lettuce flopping around between the two cold pieces of whole grain. I let out a HUGE 'BOOOOOO!" in my store because I was so disappointed. I had paid more for my other sandwich and still didn't get that hotness I was after. I knew that I should have felt my sandwich instead of just relying on my eyeballs. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FOOD-! I wasn't too turned off because these things happen.
Another feature Panera added are those cute little cards you can clip right on your keychain for perks! I signed up for one online after getting the card itself at the bakery. I have my free espresso drink hot or cold waiting for me at anytime. Each time I used my little perk, a new one comes about. So definitely sign up for this advantage if you're a Panera regular!
Although Panera is usually a restaurant of last resort, it did have it's place.....up until last night that is. Â I can recall consuming some tasty soup, and the Asiago roast beef was generally pretty good, but last night everything was bad, and it is apparent that shareholder return now trumps customer satisfaction.
The abomination that they're calling Steak Balsamico should be renamed. Â I would suggest Steak Regurgitato, because that is nearly what it caused me to do. Â It's a gooey amorphous mess of an ill-conceived sandwich. Â And the flavor was analogous to drinking cheap balsamic straight from the bottle.
The chicken and wild rice soup was cold, and it must have contained a week's worth of sodium chloride.
Even the apples that they are serving are of poor quality. And it's not like you're eating on the cheap. Â The 1/2 steak regurgitato and a cup of soup was $8 something.
On a positive note, the blueberry scone was tasty.
I seem to have selective memory when it comes to Panera, over and over again. I always recall it as being better than it ends up being in reality.
Toasted sandwiches? Nowhere near as good as Corner Bakery's paninis. In fact, the sandwiches may be the weakest link of all here.
Bagels? Good, but not any more exciting than Einstein's etc. (The hazelnut cream cheese deserves its own star, though.)
Soup? Okay, but never served nearly hot enough; the French Onion is the best, but if you want a version that is SO MUCH better, go to Mimi's on 59.
Salads are serviceable, and bakery is good (especially cookies).
Unlike some fast-casual spots, they have the pager system, so a lot of people cluster at the end of the counter to wait rather than going to a table and coming back, so the "flow" of people around the ordering/pick-up/condiments-and-beverage area kinda sucks.
The seating in this place is INSANE: not only the fact that I have never once been in here at any time of day when it has not been packed to the gills, but also the wackadoo layout of the tables, kind of flung all over the place (it's hard to weave through them while you're balancing a cafeteria tray of hot soup, let's put it that way).
You can call ahead and order for takeout, but don't bother: my mom did this the other day, then showed up to pick it up and they hadn't even started making her food yet!
(Also, I know this isn't the fault of this particular location, but Panera has the WORST laid-out website ever for a national business: circuitous and muddled.)
Overall, the next time I think of eating here, I need to remember writing this review and head to Corner Bakery or another simulacrum instead. Unless I'm looking solely for hazelnut cream cheese. Then it is ON.
It's your typical panera, I cant think of anything good or bad to make it stand out from the rest. Â This location does have a drive-thru, but I hate using them. Are we such a lazy society that we cant walk 50 feet to inhale a bunch of calories?
The wait staff at this location is very helpful, and I've never had a problem with an order.
After inviting my friend to Bikram this afternoon, late lunch was in order. I really liked this Panera for a lot of reasons. The wi-fi isn't choppy, there's plenty of parking, its close to I-88, the service was pretty quick and after planting down for a homework session, I didn't feel rushed.
I had the chicken salad sandwhich/black bean soup combo and the portions were perfect. The chicken salad wasn't gamey and the black bean soup wasn't too salty. The prices are about right for the portion that you're getting and I like the nutrition facts that are posted on the menu.
On a Sunday afternoon, the ambiance is definitely chill, with a charming, active 60+ crowd present. Trust me. You can get a lot of homework done here.
While I wish there were more tasty sandwich options (instead of being so geared at the healthy), I'll do their tomato mozzarella panini once in awhile. Â The bf loves Panera, but we are VERY sad that the regular chicken salad sandwich is gone. The almonds and grapes are just wrong.
I do love their pastry rounds, we get one for the office every few weeks - 9 triangles of delicious pastry - 3 cream cheese, 3 apple, 3 cherry, all for around $9ish. And their cheddar broccoli soup is pretty good, and the white mac and cheese is decent.
Don't attempt to walk in during the week around lunch hour, because everyone from the surrounding office complexes is here. Â
The best part of this Panera is the drive-thru! Especially in winter months.
This is probably the best PB that I have been to and I have been all over. The employees were friendly and the place was spotless. I got served right away and there were actually tables open so I could eat sitting down. Very few wifi'ers here. I must be getting old because the italian combo was almost to big. It was very fresh though. A delight to come here.
Review Source:By far my most favorite fast food chain in the world is Panera Bread. This specific location is the one I can hit on my work lunch break. This location has a [kinda] new drive through, it's AWESOME. I hadn't ever been to a Panera drive-through, and I admit, I was skeptical. I thought it would be slow, I thought it would be bad. I was wrong. It's fast and it's awesome. Usually the same girl is at the window (Sam?) She's fast, no not fast, super-fast. She will make you change, get you that extra pack of spicy mustard, throw in utensils, napkins and check your order all before you even have time to put your change back in your wallet. The food comes out fast too, both in the store and drive through. Perhaps because they got this new drive through the employees learned to move faster - because, the indoor service is significantly faster these days. Speaking of the inside, it's ok. It's very run-of-the-mill Panera. It's exactly like every other Panera store I've been too (not a bad thing), although this place seems to clean off tables a little faster then some of the other one's around. They haven't messed up any orders to date, including humungous catering orders I've made for the office.
Review Source:Always a solid, but not fantastic panini.
Not thrilled with the new Thai Chopped Salad: too many lima beans, too many carrots, not enough peanuty-ness.
There is something that always bothers me here. The lids to the beverages don't snap on right. It always takes an extra minute to get my beverage closed. Picky, I know, but it's a detractor.
I don't like that you pay for the side with the salad. People get a salad usually to not have sides.
I like the new calorie counts on the menu. I wonder if they are actually accurate. I doubt so.
I hate this stupid parking lot. It must have been designed by a 4th grader engineering student. No access points except one, weird shapes to the spots, etc. It definitely deters me.
Somehow I always end up here though.
I happen to love Panera. Though, the prices could be a bit cheaper, or the portions a bit larger. I can't handle how good their greek salad is paired with my black bean soup... and if you're lucky... a warm baguette!
The bakery. Yum. Downright expensive, you bet. The asiago bagel with cream cheese, decadent and ridiculously fatty goodness.
The wifi does work. I've used it and I like that they offer it.
Let's be honest... you do know what you're getting (and getting slightly ripped off... but hey, no tip required, right?) when you go to Panera. Everyone generally is happy because they have choices and they're always packed. Considering the amount of restaurants in their chain, they must be doing SOMETHING right. Either that, or none of us would be reviewing this joint.
Hmmmm... Lunching in Naperhell is never wonderful, but the experience here could be improved.
1. They have a new drive through that COMPLETELY messes up the entrance. Yeah- the lanes go directly into the entrance way and I am waiting for a pile up. Seriously. The Soccer Moms in empty and ginormous SUVs take the right of way as their god given right- and move for no one. So until they clear out of the parking lot- you are STUCK!
2. Once you are inside, the manners of the clientele do not really change. Pushing, blocking the way to either the pop/tea dispenser or blocking the pick up counter because- well- THEY are IMPORTANT! You would think that the architect would have taken a moment or two to pause and think about people flow... but well, yeah- that was obviously too much to ask.
3. Food quality varies. Portions have gotten much smaller- this used to be lunch and dinner in one meal. Those days are GONE suckers! I have had some raunchy assed asigo roast beef sandwiches here- also some good ones.
4. Staff is friendly.
This is your standard issue Panera. The food was good. I did a you pick two soup and sandwich, both of which were quite tasty.
It was packed for lunch, but they seemed to be clocking through orders efficiently. Â we were in and out in 30 min.
My one complaint, and this goes for Paneras countrywide, is that you cannot see the menu until you are at the counter, which means you have to stand there awkwardly at the front of the line with people waiting behind you while you decide what to get.
This one of the best Paneras around -with friendly staff, clean facilities, ample parking (and its free) excellent bread and wifi, it is a must visit. It gets busy during its lunch rush, but even through it all the staff remains friendly and professional. Admittedly the layout is odd for ordering and picking up food, but otherwise the service is great. I study here regularly on Sundays and wave at all the regulars who there as well. Drop by if you can, the sourdough is awesome.
Review Source:This is seriously the most poorly designed Panera I have ever been into. They have a huge open area for the bakery, but then for the lunch area where you are supposed to order soup and sandwiches there is this narrow pathway that makes it difficult to not be in the way.
Also you can't see the menu until you're right in front, and then when you have to wait for your food there is again NO waiting space and you're standing next to people sitting at tables and eating their lunch. Just bad, bad design and flow.
That being said, the soup I got there was good, as is to be expected at most Paneras. The manager lady was very nice and efficient in getting orders to the customers, and helped me change something after my order came out.
They raised the prices, lowered the serving sizes and hired a bunch of disgruntles workers.
The food is the same where ever you go, I do like that. Â When I travel I know that in KY I can get the Black Bean Soup and be happy and when I am in MD I can get the classic cafe salad without a problem. Â There is something to be said for standardization I guess.
Never been to a Panera? Â Liar! Â Actually, I like this one because of the larger lounge area. Â Four people can all get a comfortable leather chair, or sit on the couch, and you don't feel rushed, especially around dinner time. Â Paneras are kind of like gas stations, so I don't think you'll need a description of the food.
