This establishment only gets 2 stars from me because the bar tender was so incredibly RUDE on the night of Saturday 7/20. I've never encountered such an arrogant weird-o. I will say, he is definitely not trying to become an actor like many other bar tender/waitresses in LA, because he certainly wasn't making ANY friends.
After waiting about 10 minutes with a couple other friends the bartender finally came up and asked us what we wanted. Before we even get a drink order out, he asks if all of us are paying together. We reply "no" and he laughs and walks away from us to serve other people!!! We continue to wait until he comes back to our end and asks us "are you ready now" - um who said we weren't ready? You walked away from us, idiot. He takes our orders and eventually serves our drinks. We proceed to wait another ten+ minutes for him to bring us back our credit cards we paid with (all the while we can see him serving all these other people at the bar and doing NOTHING with our cards). Upon getting the receipt (I got a beer for $5) - my friend who ordered a SODA WATER sees that her bill is about $7.50 - WTF. She asks the bartender why a soda water is so much and he gives her the most smug look and says, "you specifically asked me for two shots of vodka in that, that's how much it cost". Completely untrue, but at this point we just wanted to get away from him.
Fighting the urge to leave NO TIP, I gave him 50 cents and my friend left nothing. I regret wasting even that 50 cents on him.
Some positives: not a long line, bouncers at the front were pleasant, nice decor, no cover
Fun fact: This freak bartender inspired me to create a YELP and post my first review. Good job dude.
This was a really cool spot!
Don't let the sketch street it's on fool you. This place had such a good vibe and the decor was dark and mysterious, with chandeliers and dark leather accents.
I tried the black cherry manhattan which was made with muddled black cherries. Yum. Nice bartender.
Good experience overall!
so damn chilllllllllll in this spot!
came by on a bday bash drink-fest after dinner here with a few close friends and the place was dimly lit and cozy with leather sofas, ottomans, and tables. the place was pretty quiet around 8:30pm on a Saturday, but eventually started to fill up quickly in an hour. the back of the spot has another bar area with a little fireplace and semi-open ceiling so you can smoke there to your lungs content if need be. the bathrooms are located in a hallway to the left of the main bar and is tiny as hell...just one urinal and a toilet with a broken stall door.
nevertheless, the spot is pretty chill and loungey and good for big groups.
