I love this place. Even though the cover is $30 and they have expensive drinks, the music has always been awesome. The crowd is always super energetic fun dance freaks and it isn't a meat market with guys grabbing up girls like other clubs - at least not nearly as much :p

Pros:
-Sick music
-Huuuge venue 4 rooms for DJs
-Open till 5am or later
-Fun happy people
-Upper level stadium style chill area
-Lounge rooms with chairs

Cons:
-$30 entry
-Expensive drinks

Other tips:
-18+ allowed on friday
-can't wear tank tops or shorts (at least until you get in)
-Plays house / electro music everytime I've been with more deep house past 3am

If you had one dance club to visit while staying in LA I would recommend this place. Other's i've been to include: Exchange, Lure, The Mayan, Level 3, and Supperclub. If you wanna hit on girls though, you're better off going to Level 3 (for the young ones :p) or supperclub $40 entry :/

Ok so I barely write reviews (this is def not my real name lol don't want it out there) BUT
AVALON FUCKING KILLED IT!!!! I went on a Friday (control Fridays 18+) after I won tickets to see Mighty Fools! The opening dj and all the following killed it. (Being new to the edm scene which btw had me thinking why it took so flipping long to find it lol I didn't know who they were but after 2 sec of hearing them I was in heaven!) yes you can call me a noob I don't care lol. So for all you who care more about the venue then my awesome amazing night of plur here it is

1. I came at 10:00. Parked across the street for $20. (I'm sure there's cheaper lots but this one was for sure open till 7am and I wanted to get in ASAP sooo I didn't care) next time I will look for a cheaper spot though.
2. Bc I was there at 10, there was no line AMAZING name was on the guest list, got my tickets, went right trough (took about 1 min)
3. Once inside OMFG where to go first! The venue is incredibly HUGE the beautiful stair case which splits up into two sides (right has a girls bathroom left has men's both turn around and bring you into the upstairs sitting/table area) on the first floor in front of the stairs to the left is a small room with a different dj, bar, lounge areas. To the right are bathroom and a different bar. Oh upstairs also has a bar. Go through to the main floor FUCKING HUGE!!! Two bars on both sides plus the vip area with a bar. On the right there are black exit doors that take you to the stoge spot which is narrow but long and lets you into different areas of the venue. Follow the main floor on the right side and you hit ANOTHER room with a dj and bar. Upstairs where Bardot is which opened at some point during the night is another bar dj and smoking patio. You get the point fucking huge and definitely well stocked up.
4. I went on Friday so they're open till 5, at around 4 they move everyone upstairs to Bardot to continue the party. (They stayed open past 5 but I left) maybe bc it was a Friday I never had the issue of the main floor closing but that could be just a one time thing so beware they do close it
5. AHHHH the sound and lights. Since I was ony drinking water (my friend molly was super thirsty the whole time ;) spilling was not an issue ($5 a bottle though eh I know it's hollywod prices but I mean you know why you're open late, you know who and what is happening make it a tad less and you'll be the best spot ever lol) ok back to lights- just mind blowing see for yourself I cannot describe the heavenly floating feeling just AHHHH the sound was a whole nother level. (Read up on the history so this is a true fact) the founder created the sound system for his previous clubs, and they are the only in the world like this. They get used at I believe 1-oak, ceasars, and some other places in Vegas. The sound was crisp, clear, and the bass oh you know how it is. The basssssssssss. You have to check it out.
6. The crowd- ok so a little down side here it is true what other yelp reviews say, there are many many middle aged Asian men looking for pootang. Also, I'm a very chill person, and whenever I'm drunk or "whatever" I still realize my surroundings having said that, I did have to multiple times move myself away from certain people who were super drunk to the point of being belligerent (yes it's a club I know but freaking control yourself) when your rolling through the venue looking for a spot to dance (which was easy my night) you have to be very cautious that your friendly, black as night eyes don't get punched by an angry drunk. Also, I've only brought my friend 3 times in my whole life, BUT I have never been an "e-tard" you will definitely see those thee for sure. Gave a few people my water (1 girl almost asked me to marry her bc of my niceness lol) One other thing that bothered me, we all know what's going on but I'm not gonna put my shit on blast by saying what I'm doing, so be prepared for a LOT of people coming up to you tell you they're on something or asking if you have "something". DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Be smart about it. Not gonna go in depth but did get approached by a narc. Bathroom lady upstairs at Bardot was a bitch. Some girl was sick, and she kept opening her stall to tell her to leave. I gave her my water and rubbed her back told the lady to fuck off.
OVERALL- great venue, amazing talent, amazing sound and light show, weird yet good crowd (many were very plur, some were just drunk) didn't have alcohol so I can't say, bathroom ladies (2 out of 3 were nice, Bardot lady needs to get fired), had an awesome night, coming back for Paul Van Dyk in August (probably next weekend too lol)
Last thing- I don't get the dress code, some girls were in stilettos and tight little micro dresses, some were in jeans. Some guys were dressed to the 9's, some were in regular tshirts and jeans. Idk
