I have tried them all and this place does not hold up. I went in and ordered a hot dog with everything, got it and to my dismay when I looked at the dog it was white! It was mushy and really nasty. I can't believe they serve that crap. Then I realized on the menu just below the "Parse's Dog" there is "All Beef Vienna Hot Dog"  So then I ordered that one. It was obviously much better. Its the only thing that gave this place 2 stars. It was an OK run of the mill Chicago Dog. It was decent. If I really had a taste for a Hot Dog and I was in the area I would stop by again but ONLY ORDER THE VIENNA HOT DOG! The Parse's Dog was so unedible,...I can't emphasize this enough!

Awful!! How do you charge me $15 for 4 beef/pork hot dogs that are white in color. Disgusting. No fries... Just chips. Tamale was cold and like it had previously been repeated several times throughout the day yet I got it cold.

Put on your menu that your original dog is beef and pork and white in color instead of on a small sign not even next to the menu.

No thanks! Thanks for ruining my appetite. Could have bought Oscar meyer.

I'm from New York, so these dogs are better than most///

However, I got really sick a couple of hours later.

This is  the worst hot dog stand in Chicago. I went there yesterday and ordered 2 Vienna dogs with all the trimmings. 99.9% of the time , steamed Vienna dogs are red in color. Well guess what, when I opened the bag, they were brown, so i guess they were sitting in the water for a couple of days. I just tossed them in trash.

I personally think that Parse's has the best dogs in the city.

The hot dogs don't have an overly think skin like others dogs do, so they aren't as chewy. The Chicago style dog is great and the chili dog is also fantastic.

The dogs are also a beef and pork mix, which gives them a better flavor than the typical Vienna dog you get everywhere else.

I've been going to Parse's for at least 15 years and I go back every chance I get.

Drove out of my way to give this place a try. Unfortunately, a very limited menu. And chips no fries.  That kind of quaintness may work at the Billy Goat but not for a small hot dog shack!  Limited parking as well. Walked in looked at the menu and walked out disappointed and hungry.  Maybe the kind of place you drop into after a late night, but I don't think they are open late.

Parse's used to be packed. Then everyone wised up and realized there was no bang for their buck. Pricey dogs & they won't make you salivate.

Not to mention, the Health Inspection checklist on their window is somewhat questionable. (Category: Needs improvement in proper serving utensils.)

Serve a good hotdog, although its better with chili, IMO. No fries, and no vienna. So you're not going to get your typical "Chicago-style" dog here. Also, its a bit more expensive than your typical hotdog place. Limited menu, basically dogs, tamales, and chips.
