I've been here two times in the past month.  The first time I got hot roast beef. It was amazing.  Kids got spaghetti kidsmeal..it was not good.  Tons of noodles and very little bland sauce.  I think they need to revamp their kids menu choices.  Service is always great.  And last time someone randomly paid my bill!!!  A regular!  It made me realize that there are still awesome people in the world.  But again...BURGERS ARE GOOD.....HOT ROAST BEEF is amazing.

It's something worth trying when you're in the downtown area after some clubbing or being at the beach.....don't settle for Dennys or IHOP!   This is a long time diner favorite in the area and I've yet to be disappointed.  They have a huge menu full of breakfast items and a whole host of dinner favorites as well.  I've had my share of chicken wings and they're not bad, but what really hooked me was the skirt steak, I'm talking a succulent piece of fine steak, very well done and I will return for more if I'm in the area and it's late!

Get the burger!!!!!   Oh my - very good.  Clearly, a favorite spot for the locals and our frequent 'go to' spot when we don't feel like cooking.  Decent food, cheap-cheap-cheap prices, and great service.

Pretty good food and service. Their meatloaf is to die for! Been coming here with my wife for years. A classic Fort Lauderdale diner!

The best of the best! No matter what you're craving, there's something to satisfy on this diner menu. The Greek items are second to none (spinach pie is amazing), breakfast is served up fresh and fast and the servers are efficient and friendly. This is a neighborhood favorite for sure. For breakfast I go with a ham and cheese omelette, lunch a Greek salad or Rueben. Definitely save room for homemade dessert...or get one to go. Nothing fancy going on here. It's just good food, friendly service and it's family owned. I like supporting our local businesses and hope you'll try it!  They're open 24 hours too--makes for great people watching late night.

Don't know why the low rating. This place is pretty good and reasonable prices and service is very good.

Does this place have incredible food?  No.  Is it one of the best diners around?  Again, no.  Does it give me the kind of trip down memory lane that I need, having moved away from NYC 16 years ago?  Why, yes it does!!!!  How I long to have that Greek diner experience every now and again.....and this place just does it for me!

The menu is huge.  You feel like a kid in a candy store just reading it.  They have the requisite display case of layer cakes.  You don't necessarily want to eat any of them, but you do, at the very least, want to stare at them.  The decor is kitschy.

Here is a place where you can have your pick of comfort food.  A huge variety of yummy, crave-worthy comfort food.  Like Roumanian skirt steak.  A huge gyro platter with thick-cut steak fries and greek salad.  A bowl of chicken noodle soup.  All kinds of sandwiches.  A platter of turkey, sliced off the frame, covered with gravy and served with savory stuffing, real mashed potatoes and vegetables.  Chicken kabobs served over rice pilaf.  A broiled or fried seafood combo platter. Old fashioned milkshakes.  Huge, fluffy omlettes, any way you like them.

And the best part?  They are open 24/7.  'Nuff said.

Here again , very busy place but the service is still top notch , as soon as I was seated the waitress was over to place my order it's almost as fast as a drive through

The Menu is HUGE and occasionally physically falling apart.

The decor takes you back to the big hair days of the 80's, brass and etched glass.

The service is usually good and the servers are friendly and some are quite humorous.

The food is Very average, and sometimes extremely bland and tasteless,  but does on occasion rise just above average. I have had the Chicken over Asparagus one time and it was superb and another time and it was not. The steaks look great but the chef seems to not like to use salt or pepper. The burgers are good consistently.

Some of the ingredient combinations are a bit questionable, altering the flavors of 'standard' fare to ???  Such as TONS of onions in Manhattan clam chowder. Or pearl onions in New England clam chowder.

    Prices are average.

It is clean and so are the bathrooms.

Time of day alters clientele... early is older, later is younger and late night is drunken.

I've been here a scads of times, usually late at night or when half way sloshed out of what may yet remain an unpickled portion of my mind in the early hours (Three AM'ish) of the morning and then generally with a group.

There are several standout features of Peter Pan:

    1. It's always open, reliable and consistent.

    2. The service is always good, polite and they are always accommodating when you simply walk in with a group of 10 or 20, each wanting separate checks. I add this as a standout feature because you try waiting on a dozen or so mostly inebriated people at 3:00AM in the morning and we'll see how polite and accommodating you can be.

    3. The food is definitely diner food, mostly with a hint of Greek (as in cheap Greek) flavoring to it, but good diner food nevertheless and unlike some other diners, they have never been known to serve you anything that will get you sick.

    4. The portions are generous. My simple lamb shank order contained two huge shanks that looked more like they came off of a cow rather than a lamb and my spaghetti side would have been a full plate spaghetti meal elsewhere.

    5. The price! It's always an easy on the wallet moderate.

I can't go four stars mostly because I am just simply not a fan of diner food or food that only amounts to being good food, but I would go 3.5 stars if I could, but I can't. I only end up here so frequently because of the lovable but otherwise cheap ass penny pinching deal seeking crowd with which I so often hang and the always convenient hours Peter Pan operations.

Besides the diner eating area another feature unique to Peter Pan is that there is also a bar room area, easy not to notice, but just to your right as you enter.

If you are looking for good food at a good price than you found it here. They have American, Italian, and Greek food. The specials run until 10 pm. I like the stuffed cabbage for $8.99 or the Chicken Gyro plate for the same price. There is also a full bar at the other side of the building. Its always showtime here, day or night. Some very interesting people come in when the sun goes down. The staff is friendly. You could find better but not at their prices. You can get a glass of house wine for $2 a glass with your meal. The down side are the restrooms, they could be cleaner.

This is one of those places where the food is hit or miss. So, to make it easier, get their souvlaki. It was delish and flavorful. The gyro meat omelet was too greasy and tasted just OK. The chicken lemon soup thing was just bleh. Of course, Mr. Picky Tables ordered the better food, but he always gets souvlaki there. I should have just had what he had. Lol. It's a cute diner, though. Plenty of things to order from their menu from Greek fare to American breakfast food and burgers.

I've been to this place a few times and each time I'm kinda let down.  Granted it's a no pretense sorta place, so one's expectations should be low to begin with.  But, honestly, the only time I can think to come here would be when I'm trashed and nothing else is open, which is something I think I saw suggested here already!
It's worth going to once just to say you've been, but I don't reccommend it for regular dining.

I don't know what to say about this joint- our doorman suggested it because we wanted late night breakfast!! The eggs were cooked to perfection and umm the toast well it had like a whole tub of butter on it! Gross!! The French toast was good and well I'd stay away from the bacon and sausage idk if it's real or not!! And the coffee tasted like sludge and umm I got totally grossed out by the waitress she kept playing with her nose and like sucking the snot back up there- if you have leaky pipes maybe you should lay off the drugs- I'm just sayin

This is where the drunk people go to pass out on uncomfortable dining room benches and to face plant on tables.

After a night of drinking, this was me face planted on the table till my cousins started to mess with me. I awoke with my mustache still stuck to my face for the month of Movember. In front of me stood the sweetest server. How does one stay bubbly at 3AM?

I ordered what I thought was low grade steak. I could barely read at this point. What I got was barely hamburger meat. I think my dog Fitz ate a better dinner than me. I did not care; I was hungry and was in devour mode. Devour, I did.

So yes curb your expectations for this place and do not come before midnight and be in at least a tipsy state. I do remember one thing vividly. They stop serving drinks at 2AM.

Waitress with too much makeup that calls you "honey"? Check.
Overwhelming menu with too many choices? Check.
No one under the age of 60 on a Sunday morning? Check.
Little creamers and no skim milk in sight? Check.

This has been on our list of places to try out and we finally went at 1:30 AM last night after suddenly feeling hungry for dinner.

It's, well it's a diner. They have dinner food. They have a pretty expansive menu and anybody should be able to find something that they like.

    Service was good.

Food was delicious. I ordered the platter that included pancakes, three eggs, sausage and bacon. It hit the spot and I wasn't able to finish all of it. Not bad for something like $7.95!

My boyfriend ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel with a side of potatoes. He said it was better than the one's his Mom made him as a kid and I never thought I'd hear him utter those words so take that as a huge endorsement.

    We'll be back!

Food was a notch below mediocre, and a notch above Dennys or Ihop. I probably wouldn't come here other than night time for fear of what might crawl about in the daylight.

Being a Greek diner, my eyes went directly to the moussaka and all the other Mediterranean dishes....I was slowly talked out of it.

My friend ordered the gyro, the other ordered a breakfast sandwich, and I ordered the usual (2 eggs over easy, bacon, and Rye...dry please.)

Needless to say.... we couldn't stop laughing because of the events going on around us.

Eclectic crowd of: cops, toussled-hair/smeared eye liner club goers, Wilton Manors crowd vs. Riverfront/ Las Olas crowd, and early bird veterans reading their newspaper.

People watching @ that hour...nothing beats it.

This is a semi regular place for me and my after work Wed gang.
90% of the time service is OK at best.
The new "decor" sure does seem to brighten up the place, too

Downside, owner/managers DO NOT care about service and it shows in newer/younger servers.

I grew up with a loving mom who was so  midwest traditional in that she cooked most of the family meals and we ate together always

Despite a cool ethnic back ground food from Mom was bland - Ah how much Peter Pan reminds me of Mom's cooking. :)

Mediocre Greek diner, poor service, food is meh. My roast beef club (hard to screw up, right? think again) was super dry, served with a side of cole slaw and by side I mean a spoonful, it's a diner people! Give me a bucket of slaw! You only come here if you are drunk or nothing else is opened past 11pm in the area. Note to self, keep driving south towards the Floridian next time.

We came here at around 4am after a long night out. Everything at our table looked good considering it's a 24-hour diner. Service was slow and there were only 3 or 4 people working at that time but it's understandable because the place was kind of empty.

Prices were reasonable, too, and their menu was huge and interesting. Peter Pan definitely beats its competitors (Denny's, fast food places, etc) so if I'm ever in the area, drunk, feeling like eating greasy food, and it's 4am, I'll stop by!

For late night drunk food it's alright. Definitely has Denny's beat. But the decor is in much need of a face-lift. The place is really old and smells like it.

The food is decent and tastes way better than anything that Denny's serves up. But i wouldn't come here willingly.

They have a vary large menu as well. Everything from breakfast items, pizza, pasta, gyro, salads, sandwiches-- chinese? everything is on their menu.

The servers are really chill, young, and efficient, which is nice especially late at night.

I have been to Peter Pan so many times.  Each time I go I swear that I am going to write a review for it and I just never get to it.  It is now that time.  I am writing my review and I must say that I am a fan of this diner.  I don't know that I can ever get up to giving the place five-stars since their breakfast fare doesn't quite make it to mediocre, but I find myself really enjoying their chicken soup.  Like the soup, just about everything in the diner is made from scratch -- not the apple sauce, stay away.

Unlike many other places I like, I tend to mix up my order on a per-visit basis.  If they have chicken and rice soup, I will always get that with their bread basket.  In addition, I have ordered the hamburgers, chicken wings, and gyros and enjoyed the experience.  The menu is quite voluminous and if you are willing to take a couple of hits to the head with some really bad food to find what you like then you should visit.  I must say that choosing items is a bit like Russian Roulette.

If my friend is wanting their turkey or roast beef and I am not tasting anything in particular -- and not wanting to spin the roulette wheel -- I will order the Chicken Wing appetizer.  The hot wings are served with a spicy BBQ sauce that is actually quite good and the wings are large.

The service is usually decent.  Every now and again I happen to get a crappy server.  If you do get one, you can usually tell within the first 10 minutes of being seated.  If this happens, don't feel bad about asking help from other servers since they are MORE than willing to make up for the short-comings of those that are poor.  The poor ones don't normally last that long.

The diner is definitely a stand-by, if nothing else.  In addition to serving food, there is also a full bar attached to the rear of the building.  At some point I am going to go just for a beer and hot wings.

The ambiance is of an 80's Diner. Not necessarily a bad thing, its a change from our corporate modern life. Very "cheers" kind of place. Owner is always around.

Prices are ridiculously cheap. Food is above average and big portions.

If you are out late and hungry... You will love this place.

I think anyone who gives this place more than 3 stars has been drinking a wee bit to much.

I have been dragged here more times than I would like to admit by friends after the bar.  I don't drink which I think is a hindrance walking though the door.

The menu has way to many items to be cooked fresh.  I have ordered or tasted many items on the menu and never once thought of ordering any of them a second time except for the chicken pita.  For some reason every time I dine here I think of Gorden Ramsy and Kitchen Nightmares.  This place could be gem if it was remodeled, the  menu was scaled down and the cooks were taught how to prepare them properly.

i am simply at a complete loss as to what i'm reading below. i'm reading about how food was good and the service was adequate but everything wasn't quite world class so they get 2 stars

you guys are ridiculously demanding.  the roast beef i had was outstanding.  the portions were huge and the price was good.  my waitress was as nice as could be and i'm not generally an easy person to be nice to.  the manager was friendly.  it was reasonably priced really good diner food and was a million times better in both food and service than any national diner chain i've ever been to.

be fair with the peter man, man!  good food 24/7 that doesn't bust your wallet. you tell everyone how good it is then give them 2 stars?  that's just not right.  i had a great meal and i happily give them 5 stars!

The service could be better, but the owners are very accommodating, so just inquire. The lamb gyro is delicious! Steak fries are good. Greek omelette is tasty. Eggplant Parmesan is good, but ask for the sauce on the side. Their Colorado Wrap for breakfast is very good, too. Desserts don't kill me, though -- cakes are a little dry and not always fresh. It's not a gazillion stars worthy, but at 2am, it's better than fast food.

Have the lamb gyro if you want food-food, or the Colorado wrap if you want breakfast.

    The dilemma?

Where to find hot food at 2am.

    Solution?

    Peter Pan Diner.

The food won't win any awards, and the service lackluster. The decor is basic diner, and the air is stale. For a quick plate of greasy and filling food, Peter Pan Diner is a decent choice.

If I'm ever in the Broward area late night, I definitely make a trip over to Peter Pan.   It's by the Wilton Manors area.  They have french fries with cheese and gravy - a great meal if you're not worried about your cardiovascular health.  The menu is just full of different types of good, especially Greek selections... I just wish it was more organized.

Otherwise, the food's not bad, the service is not bad.  Overall, it's not bad.    I wouldn't go there during the day, but it's definitely a great late night eatery!! :)

I got told about Peter Pan from 2 different sources, but had always avoided it since it looks like a dive from the outside. What this place lacks in atmosphere is made up for in good food at a good price with good service.

The dessert display is HUGE. Almost any type of cake you could possibly want.

We made a late night trip to Peter Pan on a Saturday night as it's one of the only places in ft lauderdale that serves a full menu 24/7.

Our waitress was enjoyable and displayed great service even at 2am.
I ordered a Greek salad - it was massive. and about 7.95. Nothing special, but it was pretty good. Full of chicken, olives, peppers and feta cheese.
My friends ordered pancakes and french toast. they were as happy as it gets.
We also ordered one of their massive chocolate chip cookies. It could have been a bit fresher but was pretty good.

I am sure i will be making more trips in the future..

    Ugh.
I went there for breakfast.  First impression is that it's a bit skeevy.  We were being put in a booth that looked skanky, so we got up and moved to a table.  We got reprimanded for it by a waitress that was on break sitting in another skanky booth.  The food was a bit better than disgusting, so maybe if you're a bit stoned at 3 am and a bit peckish, maybe...

The gem AND the rough to go along with it! Good diner food and wacky service!

Peter Pan is a godsend for bleary-eyed partiers and those who work late and still want a full meal. Or breakfast. Or lunch. It doesn't matter because they serve all foods at all hours, they never close. I love this place, even though I have walked out once because nobody knew we existed. Eh, on average it's better than average.

For dinner-type food I favor the Greek stuff, since a Greek family owns it. They took the Greek combo platter (pastichio, moussaka, spinach pie) off the menu, but if you ask for it you will get it. I always ask for dressing on the side of my Greek salad, otherwise I end up with dressing soup with salad floating in it.

Breakfast is breakfast, not much to say that's remarkable.

The waitresses are sassy here (that seems to be a trend in the Lauderdale area), but if you go with it you will get good service and enjoy yourself. Most times the service is good, but on a few occasions I felt like I was invisible (shift change?).

I agree that this restaurant is favorite of the blue-haired set: in the daytimes and early evenings the blue haired roll in wheelchairs. Late at night they bounce in from a dance club and are substantially younger. You could film a documentary here in 24 hours and present it as a slice-of-life. Between the food and the ambiance this place will hold your interest. Not perfect, but satisfying and enjoyable.

I love diners, but not this one.

Went in and sat at the (grimy) counter and was served water right away. But then more than 10 minutes went by before someone came and asked for my order...even though there seemed to be about a half-dozen servers meandering about doing nothing.

Finally I just got up and went to the register.  I was over it and wasn't going to eat there, but I wasn't going to leave a diner without a piece of pie either...lemon meringue to-go.  The pie was good, although I wished they wouldn't have smashed it into a tiny to-go container.

Giving this place 1-star based on (un)cleanliness and crappy service.  Not sure if the food I didn't get would have raised the score.

Convenient 24-hour diner with a mostly senior citizen (both straight and gay) clientele at lunch and a mostly gay post-bar/club crowd during the wee hours.  Depending on the time of day, there can be very interesting people-watching.

Beyond-huge portions, and beyond-cheap prices.  Wherever they get their tomatoes, I want to know.  They are really good tomatoes.  And two other people, without me saying it first, have said the same thing :).

The burgers are good although can be a little burnt on the edges.  The fries are good but in overabundance.  My favorite thing to get is just a sandwich or one of the specials.  As the owner's family is Greek, the simple Greek food is very good.  The one with pork chunks and a large pita (forget its name), the gyro platter, the Greek salads, even the mixed sampler of Greek specialties...is really good and not too "perfumy"/potpourri-spiced like Greek food often gets.  One of my favorite steals there on the specials menu is the veal shank with orzo for like $6.  It's a whole huge shank that's braised perfectly so that it falls off the bone.  You could probably share this and a Greek side salad with someone and it'd be enough.

As for the American-Italian dishes, the lasagna is huge and super cheesy...but nothing special.  Stay away from the spaghetti and meatballs.

Btw: you can get mixed drinks here delivered from the bar in the back.  They are heavy on the rocket fuel.

    Wheelchairs and twinks.

A 24 hour diner that caters to the old and young all in one convenient spot off 95. The food portions are of really nice size and it isnt expensive at all. I actually wound up eating all my food plus a few knife and forks of my friends pancakes. The staff is pretty friendly from what i took and the owner Peter is quite de-lish looking if i must say. There is a bar area as well for all of you lushes out there and a dessert case straight out of Denny's off Rte. 66.

    Good food -

Hmmm... what to say about Peter Pan Diner... Well, it's a good place to get some cheese eggs and potatoes at 2:00 a.m.  They also serve beer (much to my pleasant surprise).  I was there with a group of about 9 and there was ample seating for us, our order was taken quickly and correctly, and the food was the perfect thing to end a night out on the town.

All-in-all a pretty good experience, but when it came time to pay things got a little tricky.  At first they weren't going to split up our bill... then the waitress asked someone and she was going to be allowed to... then she split things up and then decided not to split it for each person, instead just grouping 2 or 3 of us together on the same check.

I doubt I would go there for dinner, but for a late night snack after leaving the club it's probably the best bet in Wilton Manors.  Ask for Shirley. :)
