Best pizza place in MN, period. Great, friendly staff, AMAZING Pizza, and one of the best deserts I've ever had (ice cream w/olive oil and sea salt)!!! I'll be back more than once!

The pizza, sides, and desserts are fantastic. The beer and wine selection is solid. Service is good. The only thing I don't like about this place is the no reservations policy. Can't wait for Hello Pizza on 44th and France!

First of all, the pizza was delicious! I am sort of a grump about waiting though, so my review is mixed.

I went to Lola on a Wednesday night around dinnertime and the place was packed. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, so we headed towards the bar/waiting area. There was no place to sit, so we pushed our back to the walls with the other waiting patrons and tried not to drool with the wonderful smells coming form the open kitchen. Waiting might not have been too bad, if it would not have been winter and we had all our outdoor gear to either hold or sweat in. A drink would have been nice while waiting, but finding an inch near the bar to order seemed a hassle and then there was nowhere to put your drink anyway with our coats in our hands.

If spots open up at the bar, it is first come first serve to eat there, but keep in mind the wall of people behind you staring you down for your spot.

When we were seated, we were greeted by a really nice server, with a touch of sass. I liked that.

My tablemate and I split a mixed green salad and the Lady Zaza pizza, which is their Korean pizza with tasty Kimchi, Korean sausage, Serrano peppers and a wonderful soy chili glaze.. It was spicy and oh-so-good. To end the night we split the ice cream sandwich, which was perfect to cool down my mouth after Zaza.

    I will be back!

Methinks that Pizzeria Lola has been reading its reviews and not focusing on service.  This was an unbelievable disaster of epic proportions; an epic fail as my kids would say.  They do not take reservations, so we got there on a Saturday night.  The hostess looked at us as we were cattle on our way to slaughter, and we should have just left.  But this is not an easy place to get to, and we were looking forward to trying it.  The wait was going on an hour, so we opted for takeout.  You would think that would have made it easier.  No, that was when the fun began.  We headed back to the bar, with people lined up, pushing and shoving, and with only two unsophisticated bartenders, who were overwhelmed, and generally very grumpy.  I ordered three pizzas and two glasses of wine, and was pushed to buy a bottle; I didn't as there was no place to even put the bottle.  I was then told the pizza would take between 20-40 minutes and that the bartenders didn't really communicate with the kitchen; which was a strange comment considering they are really just one big room.  We tried to find a location where were could drink and talk without being pushed around, which was anything but easy.  Everyone was incredibly unhappy, and there was plenty of complaining and pushing.  My kids, who know crowds, clearly felt unsafe.  We waited about 40 minutes and no one came to find us.  My wife decided to push her way to the bar again and were told that the pizza had been waiting for us for over 10 minutes.  How were we supposed to know that?  Did they expect us to loiter at the bar creating even more chaos.   They offered us no explanation and no accommodations, though it was clear the pizza was already cold.  When we got home, the pizza was very fair, soggy and cold.  Very lame. Made me really, really miss the good old days of Sydney's, a restaurant that could do great gourmet pizza and good service.

I've been here twice, more recent time last night.  Lola (to me) is a sit down version of Punch.  Had the Korean BBQ (was solid), the Iowan (slightly under cooked), the mixed green salad and the grilled cauliflower (good and spicy).

    Pros:
    - Beer and wine selection compliments the food sections
    - There is a nice little overflow section to drink before getting seated (with a place to set a drink and hang coats, I'm big on the coat thing)
    - The people watching is amusing (it is a diverse cross-section of upper middle class suburban Minnesota . . . and yes I realize that statement contradicts itself, just go and you'll see what I mean)
    - Good variety in the pizzas

    Cons:
    - The wait on the weekends can be nuts
    - The food can be hit or miss (I do think punch is better, but the variety and alcohol selections make Lola a worthwhile spot)

Excellent pizza!  I was here during the tail end of a snowstorm in Jan 2013 and the place was chock full.  This is impressive because the roads were nearly shut down by snow.  I got the My Sharoni pizza which was excellent.  I saw it on DDD and it was a toss-up between that one and the one with kimchi, but I could not resist home-made sausage and pepperoni.  This pizza delivers.  I don't know what the suggested serving size is but I ate the whole pizza.   I also got the vanilla soft-serve with olive oil and sea salt drizzle and it was awesome!  I am going to try to see if I can get the wife to make something like this.
I definitely want to go back and try several more pizza varieties.  Parking was a little tough even though they have a small lot on the side of the building; I had to park on the street a block away.

Tip: They do take-out and I saw lots of people coming in to pick up pies to go.

Delicious.  Super creative pizzas.  I really enjoyed the Forager and the Lady Zaza.

The service was quick and friendly.

The only reason I haven't gone back is because it's farther away from home than I normally go, and my schedule is tight.  As soon as I have more free time, I'm going back there and trying the Sunnyside breakfast pizza!

Pizzeria Lola is awesome! Some of the best pizza I've had in MLPS. The staff is great and the food is even better. The pizza's range from classics to something untypical if you're will to try. They don't take reservations so the wait depends on your party's size, so make sure everyone gets there on time or you'll have to wait 'til  they all show up to be seated. It's a fun place to eat form a girls night out to a family fun meal.

The charcuterie appetizer was very good. The best bacon I've ever eaten. The prosciutto was above average as well.

The Korean BBQ pizza was a great disappointment.  The bbq shortribs were overcooked and charred, like the pizza crust.  It should be a crime to destroy meat like this.  I also felt the Korean flavors were muted and did not taste like Korean beef I've had in many restaurants.  The pizza dough was not nearly as good as the airy dough from Punch pizza.  I quickly grew bored from eating this finish after the first few bites.  The nice server did not charge me for the pizza when I told her I didn't like it. She didn't have to do this but it was appreciated.

The soft serve ice cream with a bit of sea salt and olive oil changed my perspective on eating ice cream. I've been using salt and olive oil on store bought ice cream and it's a great culinary discovery.

Pizza is incredible.  3 wood-fired pizza joints near where I live in Orange County and none comes close. Incredible ingredients and the crust is perfection.

Great craft beer selection and friendly service.

I've been to Lola a number of times and have been pleased each time I've been here.    Sometimes the wait is probably longer than it should be, but then again, there ain't a ton of restaurants in this area.  To avoid, this situation we've come on weeknights and during the day.

On my most recent trip, I tried the Lady ZaZa, which is their crazy Korean pizza with Kimchi and Korean Sausage.  It is safe to describe this pizza in two ways.  1) Unlike any other pizza you'll find and 2) not for the faint of heart.  But if you do like kimchi, you'll probably love this pie.  I wouldn't order it every time, but it is a nice change of pace.

We've also gotten a couple of their salads and their veggie appetizers, which are also very good as well.

Place is awesome.  We got there just in time to get a table on Monday.  Place had a really fun vibe and the staff was really nice and very attentive.  Pizza was delicious.  Had the sausage and pepperoni.  Pizzeria Lola will definitely be on my  go back to list!!

Here is the thing, it is what I call designer pizza. I had the Forager which was fine, but it is not real pizza. It is reminiscent of  pizza. If you are looking for a good pizza go to Chris and Rob's or Yarusso's. I will say the service was excellent.

We went there on a very cold day and sat at the bar - it was great! The warm pizza oven felt wonderful on a cold day and it was fun to watch the pizzas being made while we waited for our meal. We ordered the Lola Plate - selection of meat and cheese, it was good but nothing I'm dying to try again. For pizza we ordered the Sunnyside up and it was fantastic! The creamy egg and the salty pancetta was an awesome combination. For dessert we ordered the make your own ice cream sandwich - it comes with soft serve ice cream and warm chocolate chip cookies. So good!! We added the olive oil and salt to the ice cream and it was delicious!

They have the hostesses with the mostesses... ;)

Just came in to grab a pizza for takeout and enjoyed a beer at the counter while I waited.

It did take a bit to get my pizza, the Boise, a potato inspired pizza. It was a great crust but it was kind of meh on the toppings. I liked the premise of the pizza but it was really sweet which is weird for pizza, at least for me anyways.

Service was grand however, and the servers were fast and efficient for as incredibly busy they were. Props to Lola's.

Next time I just need to find a makeout partner for the Photo Booth.

The best!  Went on a weekday lunchtime. No waiting, but it did get busy. It was worth a long drive for sure. One sunny side and one more tradional topping. Both were the best. Sit at the bar the first time you go, it's great fun to watch all the workers. The oven is worth a visit alone, very impressive.

In 1929, Marlene Dietrich starred in a wonderful German film titled "The Blue Angel," as a provocateur named "Lola."

She even sang a song about it. They first line is something like this:

"I'm the posh Lola, the darling of the season!"

It was in German, so maybe the translation isn't great. But I kept thinking of the song as we sat in Lola, an all-seasons, posh little darling of a pizzeria.

The dark wooden walls, peppered with photos from an IN HOUSE PHOTO BOOTH. The immense, gorgeous copper pizza oven right in the middle of the restaurant. The decadent, decadent pizzas, appetizers, and desserts.

Oh Lola, you are definitely my darling.

We started out with the seasonal vegetable - brussel sprouts. Now, before your inner 7-year-old comes out and you say "Yuck!" keep in mind that these sprouts are fired in the same oven as the pizzas. They're crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and little bites of heaven. Mixed up with some butternut squash and topped with an ample - but not overbearing - amount of cheese, these were worth five stars alone. Yeah, brussel sprouts. Are you happy, Mom? ARE YOU?

Next up, pizzas! My partner ordered the Sweet Italian pizza, while I had the Korean BBQ.

Before I begin raving about the pizzas - and Ima warn you, I am gonna rave - I have to give a tip of the hat to our awesome server, Liz. I'm still laughing about her maybe-deliberate "pizza tease." She walked by a table near us carrying two pizzas that we believed were intended for us. As she came over to ensure that our drinks were full, she said, "These aren't for you. I just wanted to tease you." Then she winked.

Oh, Liz, you were a tease indeed. It made the wait even more difficult, but the final prize - this mouthwatering pizza - even more worth it.

Now see, I'm talking about the wait, but it really wasn't long. Maybe 15-20 minutes after we put our orders in. We were just hungry, hungry hippos and really wanted the pizza as we'd skipped breakfast, brunch, and snacks. At around 12:30, this was our first meal of the day.

The pizzas arrived, and we tore into them like starving dogs. Seriously. My partner looked like Hannibal Lecter as he muttered, "This sauce is really, really good." Of course, I was too busy with the party in my mouth to really give much concern to what he said - my Korean BBQ pizza complete with short ribs, arugula, and a spicy vinaigrette. The short ribs were perfect, and combined with the rich mozzarella, the tangy and spicy arugula, and the smokey fire of the crust, made for a really gourmet - yet non-pretentious - pizza that any carnivore would appreciate.

I plan to try each pizza on the menu. I plan to become a regular. I plan to gain 30 pounds. But who cares? Not me. Not Kit.

Final course was dessert. While I had the blood orange soft serve - which tasted perfect and was a beautiful reddish-orange color - my S.O. (significant other, duh) went for the vanilla soft serve topped with ... wait for it ... olive oil and sea salt. It goes without saying that it was taking everything in my being to not reach across the table and snatch his dessert away and eat both of them.

Pizzeria Lola is definitely my new favorite pizza place. The crust is thin, but not cracker thin. The apps are outstanding. The service - wow. As busy as this place was, the service was stellar, friendly, and attentive.

The vibe at Lola is one you don't want to miss. It's upscale without being snotty. The crowd seems to be very mixed - it's definitely an "everyone welcome" kind of place.

    My tips:

Tip 1: Korean BBQ pizza is wonderful. It's different without being *too* different. Try it - you will love it.

Tip 2: Don't be afraid if it looks like there's a line at the door. Lola's layout pushes waiting people toward the front door, but our wait was only about 15 minutes on a very busy Sunday afternoon.

Tip 3: Finally, be super nice to the host, too. She's not only stunning, but sassy and efficient. And remember - she's the one controlling how quickly you can eat.

You won't see me hand out too many five start reviews, but this place is consistently awesome.  We went there last night and head the pizza special, which was a meatball pizza with ricotta.  It was phenomenal and one of the best Lola pizzas I've ever experienced.  I hope it makes it to the regular menu.  We also had the Hawaii Pie-O which is always a classic.

I've eaten at Lola many times, and I will offer a few tips:

Always order a minimum of two pizzas even if you are a party of two.  One pizza would probably be enough food for two, but it's always nice to have a couple of different tastes and leftovers are always great.

In my opinion the best pizzas are: The Iowan, Sweet Italian, My Sha-Roni, and The Boise, La Creme, and Hawaii Pie-O.

The Forager and The Xerxes are fine but nothing special.

The only pizza I really haven't cared for so far is the Lady ZaZa.  Its flavors really just didn't work as a whole, and it wasn't pizza-ish enough for me.

The Roasted Cauliflower is an excellent appetizer, as are the Brussel Sprouts when they are available.

The soft serve ice cream is excellent in just about any format.  We've tried it with the olive oil, the cocoa nibs, the DIY ice cream sandwich, etc and it is always just great.  The olive oil/sea salt is probably the best combination, but you really can't go wrong ordering anything with their soft serve.

We were surprised at how packed Lola was at 3:30 on a Saturday. We thought we were being clever going midway between lunch and dinner but we were wrong. Fortunately, we snagged a counter seat and avoided the 20 minute wait.

Now, to the pizza.... Punch Pizza's Margherita is my favorite always and I compare all Margherita pizzas to theirs. I'll just say I prefer the Punch Margherita. However, I really enjoyed the Lady ZaZa pizza. Kimchi on pizza - yes please!

We also tried the soft serve with olive oil and sea salt and enjoyed that too.

Bottom line - if you want less toppings - go to Punch - but if you want something with unique toppings - this is the place to try.

We weren't in Minneapolis for a week and we had heard from 4 different couples that we HAD to check out Lola's.  Coincidentally, our realtor gave us a gift certificate, so we were there quickly...

The pizza choices are superb, from a Korean BBQ pizza to Idaho's best (The Boise - with potato & gruyere) and then something for the shroomers (The Forager - with 3 different types of mushrooms + truffle oil).  As a proud Iowa farm boy, I certainly couldn't pass up The Iowan (proscuitto, riccotta and my favorite green veggie, arugula).  It was awesome!

The decor at Lola is great - especially all the small details throughout.  It is a little spendy, but a great choice and truly a gem for SW Minneapolis neighborhoods.

To note, we brought all 3 of our kids (under 5 years old).  If you get there a little before the heavy rush hour, it is very kid friendly.  The servers brought out snacks for the kids and were very accommodating.

It's easy to love Lola. Every time I have gone, the place is full and there's people waiting in line, usually by the bar. The space is warm and inviting, service is super friendly. The large gleaming French copper oven in the middle of the space adds a lovely touch.
Both the roasted cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are very tasty. If you have Brussels sprouts you must try this to change your mind!
I also like the wood-fired pizza with its thin crust - tried Lady ZaZa without the Korean sausage - with kimchee, scallions, serrano peppers, sesame soy chilli glaze. The pizza was quite large; I brought back half of it to eat later.
Lola is a great neighborhood pizzeria.

Lola, you had me when I learned that the restaurant is named after the owner's dog; that just warms my dog-loving heart.  So I already think this place is the bees knees.  Or the puppy's paws?

The food at Lola is great, but it's not my favorite pizza around.  Let me explain everything else here though that makes this a 4-star review.

The huge oven makes for a great way to roast veggies.  I've had the brussels sprouts a few times and they have always been perfectly done, meaning burnt and crispy, and a tasty way to eat some vegetables at a restaurant.

I also love their non-boozey drink menu.  Cheerwine in Minnesota!  Perfect.

Their homemade vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt is HEAVENLY.  I know, olive oil on ice cream?  Weird, right?  But it works so well.  The olive oil is almost fruity and the sea salt brings out the vanilla-y sweetness of the ice cream.  The last time I was there the server tried to convince us to get the blood orange sorbet swirled with their vanilla ice cream.  I was sad that we were all too full to try this combination that I picture to be absolutely perfect.

The photo booth is the most adorable part of the place, though.  I have so much fun taking cheesy pictures with my peeps and love that people can leave them behind on the wall.  Pardon me being that creepy person gazing at other diners while I'm waiting for my table.

This is my favorite pizza place in Minneapolis & one of my most favorites ANYWHERE!

It's such a cute little spot and the owner is often on-site, always wearing a flower in her hair. The place is named after her precious dog, Lola.

The pizza is AMAZING! So delicious! My favorite is the tried and true margherita pizza, but everything I've tried there is great. Be sure to save room for the vanilla ice cream, paired with wood oven baked chocolate chip cookies or drizzled with olive oil & sea salt. Yum! Also, check out the photo booth & pin your pics to the wall.

This place is busy--maybe best to go on a weeknight for now.

That said, I really liked the crust on the pizza. The Hawaii Pie-Oh was delicious--I could have eaten the whole thing myself, but alas, I had to share. The Lazy ZaZa could have done with one fewer topping, but was still tasty. The roasted cauliflower appetizer was also delicious. For dessert, I had the vanilla soft serve with olive oil and seas salt, which was yummy, and the others in our group had the DIY ice cream sandwich--that same vanilla soft serve with two AMAZING chocolate chip cookies.

I'm eager to come back here and see if Lola can earn that fifth star!

I don't get the high rating for this place. I've dined here twice. The wait has been overly long both times. Pizza was only OK. I was expecting something much more extraordinary and reasonably priced.

On a good note, the roasted cauliflower is a must and the vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt is great.

Delicioso! I love this place! My  boyfriend Cody and I stopped by for an early dinner on Sunday, and the place was packed! They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait. Or do as we did-- sit right away at the bar! We both love sitting at the bar, it's fun to watch the pizzas come in and out of the oven, and you usually find yourself talking to your neighbors.  We started with the brussel sprouts as an appetizer, delicious! I love the cripsy-almost burned edges.  They were topped with a fresh grating of Parmesan cheese. Yum.

For our pizzas, Cody got the Oktoberfest and I got the sweet Italian.  The Oktoberfest was a seasonal pizza, the special for the night. It was topped with a couple different kind of sausage, sauerkraut, and mustard.  My pizza was topped with sausage, sweet red peppers, onion and we chose to add kalamata olives.  Both were amazing! The crust was so good, a perfect base for the toppings. And the toppings all blended together to create a lovely taste explosion in your mouth.  I will say one thing, the Sweet Italian pizza is definitely SWEET.  By adding the olives it added a really nice saltiness, one i would recommend to other diners.

We skipped dessert because I had made a homemade caramel apple pie that day, but next time I will make sure to get something. Their homemade soft-serve ice cream with olive oil looked amazing.  What really sparked my interest were the fresh COOKIES that came out of the oven. LOOKED SO GOOD. Can't wait to try them with a cold glass of milk.

The best pizza I have had in Minnesota.

We have tried the gluten free, the Korean BBQ pizza(!), the fennel sausage pizza.... everything is really fantastic.

Big, busy place. Go early and don't be discouraged if there is a line. There is a very good reason there in one. Order several pizza and share among the table - they are not huge - and you will have a great time with great pizza.

I don't get it. It must be the hype (which I'm wondering when it will die down since I still can't seem to get a table without a minimum 20 minute wait even during off times) but I seriously don't get what all the fuss is about. And I do want to give it another shot, but as I said before, the wait times vs. my impatience just won't allow for it at least for the time being.

The Lady ZaZa doesn't even have cheese on it. That was my major disappointment. And probably the fact that when i think about it, I have made a better kimchi pizza at home for way less $. The pizzas are good, don't get me wrong. But are they worth the extra money and time that they're inevitably going to cost you? That, I can't bring myself to feel right about.

I want to go back to try The Forager, Hawaii Pie-O and The Xerxes. Last time I had the Korean BBQ, Lady ZaZa, Iowan, and maybe something else that escapes me? Also had the soft serve with olive oil and fleur de sel dessert which was different and good. Good beer selection as well and the service was very friendly albeit slow, but that's to be expected when a business is horribly inundated with people who want Guy Fieri's D. ;) I totally understand.

PIZZERIA LOLA is another DINERS, DRIVE-INS and DIVES visit on my bucket list -- the anticipation of eating there and the prospect of vacation sex (like make-up sex without the drama) was how i steeled myself for the flight across country with two kids.

nestled in a tiny strip mall on a quiet residential street, PIZZERIA LOLA has a definite neighborhood vibe. we got there about four o'clock and the place was already nearly full -- by the time we left, there was a line. huge, well trained, courteous and attentive staff. little surprised by other's criticisms.

WYATT had the MEATBALL appetizer (house-made meatballs with red sauce and crostini). good, a little spicy.

JODI and JULIANA shared an OLD RELIABLE (house red sauce, mozzarella and pecorino) -- i had a slice and it was pretty good.

GRAMMA SHELLY ordered a gluten-free IOWAN (prosciutto, ricotta, mozzarella, garlic confit and arugula). wasn't wild about the crust which had the mouth feel and texture of pre-cooked crusts from the megamart). i would have preferred the arugula dressed with a little olive oil and lemon. expectations were high and would have to say this one was a little disappointing.

got off to a bad start with my KOREAN BBQ pizza (beef short ribs, mozzarella, scallions, arugula, sesame and soy-chili vinaigrette) -- the first bite had a really chewy bit of meat that was mostly gristle. the rest of the KOREAN BBQ flavors did not keep up with the forward, cloying presence of sesame (which i actually really like) and was completely overwhelmed. it was good but too much one note.

family had great fun in the photo booth.

we shared a bowl of soft-serve ICE CREAM with olive oil and sea salt -- good, a recommended try, i just didn't go gush factor seven like nearly everyone else seems to.

don't get me wrong, i liked the pizza at PIZZERIA LOLA, i just didn't love it. dinner was good, very, very good -- just not life-changing.

    the quest goes on ...

I visited Lola for the first time on a Friday night during the dinner rush. I knew we'd have a wait, and since they don't take reservations and we had a party of seven including a wheelchair, I was surprised and happy when we were told that the wait would only be 35-45 minutes.

The place was packed inside and out, but we got some drinks at the bar and stood outside to wait. The hostess was very nice and attentive and came outside to give us updates on how much longer it would be, apologizing for the increasingly long wait (they apparently had several tables in limbo due to people paying and sitting around drinking water for 30+ minutes).

About 75 minutes into our wait, another woman appeared (I'm assuming a manager), apologized again, and offered to buy us appetizers since we'd had such an unplanned long wait. We were seated at a great picnic style table outside, and soon three appetizer plates appeared. We had two servings of the roasted cauliflower and one of the house made meatballs. Both dishes were very tasty and we ended up ordering another meatball dish.

Our server was very nice, and patient with taking our (slightly inebriated) orders. Everyone at the table ordered a different pizza and due to sharing I was able to try three of them: "The Iowan" (my choice), The "Lady ZaZa" made with house made kimchi , and the"Hawaii Pie-O." All were delicious with great flavors and The Iowan was voted the favorite.

We were all so full after dinner that I didn't end up ordering the vanilla soft serve with olive oil and sea salt that I've heard so many great things about. I will try it for sure on my next visit.

This place is definitely worth the wait, great service and food, but if you're not the patient type, order take out (they offer it!) or go during non prime hours.

Thanks again to Pizzeria Lola for the appetizers, we appreciated it! :)

    Delicious.

I had The Forager (added bacon) and the BF had The Sweet Italian (added pepperoni).  Mine was good, but I wanted to kick the BF really hard in the knees and run off with his pizza when he wasn't looking.  It was that frickin good.  Violence-inducing good.

Alright folks, I need to start this review with a disclaimer: I used to be a member of the wonderful staff of Pizzeria Lola. My tenure at the pizzeria ended January 2012 though, and I have withheld a review for this awesome restaurant for 8 months to try to be as neutral as possible. I've gone in as a customer 3-4 times since I left and this review can be put off no longer.

Ready for my thoughts? This is the best fracking pizza you'll have. Seriously.. I may or may not have stayed on as a host/wait assist for an extra few weeks just to get the discount on the pizza. If nothing else, come for the pizza. Seriously.

On to the other things: I'm clearly biased toward the wait staff, but just know this.. the Pizzeria Lola staff is full of people who have the customer experience at the front of their minds every shift. And if they don't, management has a nice little chat with them to correct that problem. They hire professionals who love doing what they do. Some nights it gets so busy in here that they miss things. Don't take it personally... they really didn't mean it.

And ah yes... the business. What's to say? Lola is a small restaurant as it is, but a small & popular restaurant?! Oofta. As a host, I routinely quoted wait times of an hour to an hour and a half on Friday and Saturday nights. Fear not though if you have only 2 people! Tables of two generally get seated much quicker than tables of 3 or more at Lola. They certainly don't discriminate... that's just how it seems to work out.

In short: come for the pizza. Stay for the pizza. Relax here after the pizza (although not too long.. remember, there's usually someone waiting for you to leave!) Take some photobooth shots. Enjoy the great, local beer. Most of all, enjoy yourselves. This is a wonderful restaurant. I may be biased, but that doesn't make me wrong!

I can't believe my parents are hip enough to be regulars here! They have become total foodies.

On Sunday night we came around 5:30 and there was already a 45 minute wait. To me, that is ridiculous. Thankfully, the pizza and service made up for it.

They do to-go order but only on weekdays. That might be a better option if you are impatient like me.

We had 3 pizzas for the 4 of us + a split salad and finished everything.
The Sunnyside -- with sunny side up eggs. It's different but good. Try it out!
Hawaii Pie-O -- hawaiian pizza with a twist. of spicy-ness!
Korean BBQ -- I wasn't sure if I'd like this one. Yes, its a bit strange but the flavors work well together and the beef is tasty!

Honestly, my favorite part was the crust. Thin but the outside crust was chewy. Yum! They have a gluten free version as well.

Also, the bar area was packed! They have a photobooth in the back too.

I don't really like pizza.  Yea, I'm one of those weird people.

My friends dragged me here and I reluctantly went without expecting too much.  I didn't hear much about it before because I tune out things whne people talk about pizza.  However, I was amazingly surprised at how good this place is.  I've been back 3 times already since I just can't get enough!

The first time I went there was with 2 gfs, and we had 2 apps and 4 pizzas.  Sue us, we couldn't make up our minds.  I had to get both of the Korean Pizzas and killed them both...well at least the toppings.  I love love love love the Lady Zaza.  The flavor is fantastic and you just can't stop eating.

Sunnyside Pizza was awesome because who could go wrong with a runny egg on ANYTHING?

Added bonus, I do love photobooths and I never fail to take some to remember my good times there.

Thanks for changing my views on pizza...I now say I don't like pizza, except if it's from Pizzeria Lola!

Since it opened every time P & I would drive by and say "we need to go here."  Then it was on DDD, and I thought there was no way we could get in after the episode aired.  But today FINALLY we got here for lunch.   Now my taste buds are slapping me for not getting here sooner.

Needless to say we really liked it.   We ordered 3 different pizzas to share (FYI there were 4 of us), The Xerxes was so yummy.   How can you go wrong with olives, almonds and spinach?  The Forester was loaded with mushroom yumminess.  And the table favorite was the Korean.   Pizza and Korean short ribs?   YES Please!!

We also had the cookies and ice cream.   Both were great.

Now I need to go back and get the one with the egg on it.   :-)

Thank You, fellow Yelpers! Based on reviews I went to Lola and I was blown away. I felt like a teenage girl in anticipation of a first kiss when I saw the pizzas being delivered to the tables around us.
First off, I have to say I have never met a beet that I liked and had successfully written them off as a food source for almost 20 years. I had to man up though when I read the menu description of the Roasted Beet and Arugula salad. A beautifully balanced vinaigrette, with toasted hazelnuts and chevre. Still not big on red beets, but the golden beets were amazing.
The pizzas we ordered were the Korean BBQ and the Boise. Both unique, wonderfully flavored and the crust...to die for. Finished it off with the home made softserve ice cream topped with Olive Oil and fleur de sel. This was absolute madness. Sweet, make you get arrested for public indecency kind of madness!

Fun place! I went on a Friday night around 9:30 and the three of us had to wait about 10 minutes, which was fine because we had a chance to get a beer from the bar. Their beer list is short but great--lots of local choices and a variety of flavors (I hate IPAs, and I'm always annoyed when the person who created the beer list has a thing for hoppy beers. What about those of us who like crafts but aren't into bitter?)

The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the Xerxes (sauteed spinach, feta, mozzarella, kalamata olives, and almonds). I was skeptical about the almonds, but my cousin/friend convinced me to trust them and she was right--it did work. However, all of the ingredients on this pizza are salty (including the spinach, which I think was sauteed with salt) and while the first piece or two were fine, I really noticed the salt. I was still hungry and probably could have kept on eating if it weren't for the salt overload (so I guess I should be thankful). My dinner mates loved their pizzas, the Lady ZaZa and the Korean BBQ (although they did pick some of the serrano peppers off the ZaZa as they provided a bit too much zing!)

I would love to go back and try one of their other vegetarian choices, like The Forager, and we didn't even look at the rest of the menu beyond the pizzas.

Oh Pizzaria Lola - I will be dreaming of your Ma Sha-Roni pizza from here to the end of eternity. A more perfect pepperoni/sausage pizza, I don't think I've ever had.

A friend and I trekked to Lola on a recent Friday night knowing full well a wait was in store for us. We got there around 7:30 and were told it would be up to an hour for two people. Since it was a nice evening, we didn't mind. And in the end, I think we didn't even wait a half hour so no biggie other than the smell was amazing and driving us crazy with anticipation.

This was no agonizing Olive Garden trapped like cattle in a barn lobby wait either. They have a nice outdoor space with benches and even a table set up with ice water and glasses - I love a thoughtful restaurant like that.

The indoor space is very attractive with tables of varying sizes and that gorgeous huge copper pizza oven acting as the focal point. We got a nice small table out of the way where we could undoubtedly hear better than others (be forewarned, it gets loud).

We started with the vegetable of the day - asparagus with soy sauce and shaved Parmesan which was good. Then we moved onto the pizzas. The first half of the menu has your more traditional pizzas - the margheritas, the pepperonis, etc. while the latter half holds the foodie pizzas for those with an adventurous spirit. We had to have one from each side.

We opted for the Ma Sha-Roni with homemade pepperoni and sausage. I'm drooling just thinking about its perfection. Just order it - you won't regret it.
We also got The Forager - a mushroom-laden pizza with taleggio cheese and truffle oil. This is a rich pizza with deep flavor.

Finally, we had to sample some of the desserts. My friend got the pistachio ice cream (made in house and featuring a gelato base) - it was subtly flavored and massively creamy. I ordered the warm chocolate chip cookies with sea salt and a glass of milk. The cookies were delicious - soft with melty chocolate. The sea salt brought out the flavor perfectly and the milk was a nice touch.

All of this was way too much food for two people, but having leftovers to take home and eat the next day was great.

Also, I have to mention our awesome waitress who ran after us when we left to give me back my sunglasses that I left on the table. I would have been lost without them so a million thanks to her!
