This place reminds me of a hipster log cabin. When walking in I was greeted with amazingly huge and comfy leather chairs, hard dark wood planks all along the walls and an elaborate red chandelier. All accompanied with flannel. Most of the peeps in the bar were partaking in a beer with a free shot happy hour deal. Like I was. For $5 that is a deal to me I thought as I slowly sipped on my whiskey and Sly Fox. My friend came for the fancy, lush cocktails. I really was just getting out of work before everyone else and am only 15 minutes away by train and needed to kill time for an hour Tuesday night. And that lucky girl gets to work from home. Dreams.
But it was a lovely area to kill time in. I believe Sunday and Monday they have an oyster happy hour and Tuesday is yep, you guessed it, Taco Tuesday. However, I did not feel like eating and my friend's carnitas tacos were small and cost $7. I'm moderately frugal. She said they were good. But she hates cilantro and threw that to the side. They also seem to serve a lot of 'bacon' themed sandwiches and sides here. Anyway, my point in being ultimately is that if you love whiskey and bourbon and pork this is the bar for you. The whiskey menu is intense.
